| Welcome to Pokemon Adventures! You are currently viewing the forum as a guest. If you're thinking of joining, I feel the need to note that this is a discussion forum, and not some kind of online Pokemon game (as awesome as that would be). We get tons of members getting this confused, and we certainly wouldn't want to waste your time if this place isn't what you were looking for. You might also find that the activity level is rather low around here. This is mostly due to lack of new members that stick around. I'm sure if we had a few more, all the many members would eventually come out of hiding. Why not sign up and stay for a while. Who knows? You may be surprised. Click here to join! |

I think it's pretty awesome that you no longer have money as an issue with your job. You can now do what you would actually enjoy the most rather than what you would get paid best for. You can go to work, and love every minute of it. It does open up a lot of paths to things that are bad, but it doesn't mean it has to go there. I dictatorship can come from it pretty easily, and religious freedom could be destroyed from it, but they aren't things that are required by the way communism works. If that does happen, sure it sucks, but it means they did a bad job, not that communism itself is horrible. I think it's probably the best system of government for smaller nations. |

And certain things work for certain people. America is full of people like Aaron who are afraid of having lack of opportunity. We have excess food, we have excess material things...we all indulge ourselves in whatever we can. Everyone in America is guilty of it, now...sure we have less fortunate but that might be because the rich are getting richer and the poorer are getting poorer. Sure we care for lower classes, but we care way too much about ourselves and that we want things to satisfy every little need. Communism probably wouldnt work in America, but it would make everyone equals, people would no longer have better opportunities than everyone else. |

I respect, (and I did read) all of your opinions. I do agree that there is nothing inherantly "evil" or "bad" about communism. However, I consider myself a "realist". Let's face it, communism in major countries has not worked very well in the recent past. As for your comments about early Christians, something that works in small communities is a lot different than something working on a national level. Furthermore, I would think that since everyone in those communities was God-loving, that any reasonable system would work for them. Sadly, not everyone in this world shares the same values and ideals, so I'm not sure what worked for them would work for a nation. |
