These are the regulations of the board that will be strictly enforced. Don't expect leniency based on seniority. That goes both ways and applies to admins as well, though some things are allowed, like a cop is allowed to speed and such. You may be the seventh member to join (no offense to whoever that ends up as) or the newest, but that doesn't mean that the rules will slide off you. In other words, I don't play favorites nor do I go easy on new guys. You are obligated to read the rules when/before you join. Wrist-slaps are expected at first, but vary on quantity and quality of the offense.

Board Rules:

- Do not flame (yell at, profoundly insult) fellow members. This is not acceptable behavior and will not be tolerated. The longer/meaner the flame, the harder you will be knocked off your horse so try not to do that. An example of admin immunity is here, as it will tend to be used as a defense for other members.
- Also, RPE-related PMs and IMs will be used against you if you flame in them.

- Spamming (posting Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages) is only allowed in the specific forum. Outside of that, do not spam elsewhere. If you need to know what that is, just ask.
- This would also be posting content unrelated to the current topic.

- One thing for sure, any rules mentioned in the Invisionfree Terms of Service will also apply here. It's a general courtesy I plan to uphold.

- No doubling up on accounts. If your little brother also wants to play, I'm going to need to see some serious proof.

- Too much cursing or un-needed cursing will result in a prompt suspension. Too much of it would come from multiple explicatives in a sentence, or one in every sentence of a post. Unnecessary comes from calling a member an explicative for any reason. A word filter won't be needed, because it's hopeful that none of the members will break this rule.

- Accounts inactive for roughly a month are subject to deletion.

- Respect the authority of the Admins and Moderators. If we tell you to calm down, or do anything for that matter, then do it. If a Moderator seems to be treating you unfairly, contact an Admin. If it's an Admin, contact the Head Admin. If you decide to attack us, the punishment chain will get skipped around.
- Also, we reserve the right to punish you for things that obviously are not need that aren't necessarily included in the rules. It's known as the ability to mod-hammer.

Now then, the discipline system is fairly simple:
- First off, you'll be warned either in a following post or in a PM. Don't worry, it's just a wrist slap.
- After that, expect to get an official warning. These are what you want to worry about, as there are only three strikes to it.
- Next on the list is a temporary (one day at first, then a week, but varries by case) suspension.
- And if you're just that terrible, you'll receive a swift kick out the door via ban/IP ban and account deletion.

Roleplay Rules

Don't leave anyone behind, please. We can't have anyone posting back and forth a ton per day, forcing another player in that topic to get several pages behind. If it's purely chit-chat, then that's fine, but if alot of actions are involved, give the other player time to reply.

- Also, when taking part in RP, especially missions, it is preferred that you develop a turn order to go in.

One thing to remember not to do during combat or just simple RP is godmoding. That is the act of roleplaying as one of the other characters in the topic. For example, saying that they automatically take a hit is godmoding. Flat out controlling them also falls under this. If you have permission from them first, ok, but if not, you'll be doing some editing.

If a big event is happening with four or five people in the topic, don't join in with them. It slows things down profoundly and we can't have that. We especially don't want people doing that just because they are bored.

On the subject of boredom, you can only be in one topic at a time. Your character is not able to be in so many places at once. At first, you're only going to have one character to RP with anyway until either a] activity gets up there or b] you prove you can handle two characters. UPDATE: You may have two characters starting out if you choose. It will now be done differently: if you show that you -can't- handle more than one character, you will be forced to get rid of one. So do respect this rule and don't argue it. If you argue that you want another character and get mad about it, that will simply delay you from getting one, and possibly losing one of the two you have. Also, when you draft a sheet for a second character, make that character of the same affiliation as your other, or neutral. You can't be allowed access to two different bases' forums at once.

- No more than one character you own may be in the same topic.

I did my best to make the character sheet as in-depth as possible. So with that said, you should know that your character only will have what is in his/her sheet ability-wise. Items and stuff you acquire shouldn't matter anyway. Most admins will know if you have something of great importance.

- If you want to receive an upgrade in the RP, then PM an admin with the request. We will decide if you deserve it at the time, and if you can just go get it, or subquest first.

I don't normally beg, but please, for the love of <insert deity here> put some thought and time into your posts. If there really is not much for you to say at the time, then that's okay, a couple sentences will do, but a couple of paragraphs at minimum would be nice. Simply, no one-liners. It's not cool. On that note, if you're not the best when it comes to the English language, or grammar in general, run your post through a spell-checker. Again, I implore you. It doesn't take long.

-IMPORTANT NOTE-

While you consider making your character, do realize that you don't have to make a combat outfitted reploid, or a gun-toting human. Your character has all kinds of room to maneuver, and the planets aren't exactly covered in war. There's still plenty of people on Nova, Friara, or Waron that simply will chill. Just a thought from the Head Admin.

Anyway, next up are some RP Specifics you should know about that are(n't) implemented on Phaelin Era.

RP Specifics - Things we'd rather not have happen. Or things that should.

Location

Unless you have more than one character, you should only be posting in one topic with a character. This RP has a storyline, not a simple and vague "do what you want" style, so you can only logically be in one place at a time.

Repairing

Not a big deal right? Well, not if you're a good RPer that has this kind of experience under the belt. Otherwise, this could be a problem. For starters, you are definitely not as skilled as Zero. (That's some X6 sarcasm.) You can't crawl in a cave after suffering half your body being blown off and rebuild yourself without spare parts and only one arm. This takes a little more effort. Try finding someone with the skills to actually repair you. And you can't enter, repair, and leave, all in one post. That's some speed that you do not quite have, especially if you're going to go and run off into some other random fight.

Transportation

Okay, so there are three worlds out there. Moving from one to another isn't all that easy as randomly saying "Instant Transmission!" or some such. You need to access a shuttle to move between Nova and Waron for example. At this point, unless an attack is being launched, movement between Friara and Waron is out the window. A transport is required to go to Friara from Nova. So obviously, you'll need to be a Hunter. Teleportation on any of the planets otherwise is basically not in the formula. This is mostly for RP reasons, like trying to keep people from just warping anywhere at any time. For movement from place to place, there are various ways included on each planet.

- As a side note, when you're leaving an area, do try and state where you're headed to and a general description of how. That, or tell how you got there once you get there and state where came from.

Humans

For what humans there are in the RP, things will be different to handle. If you're human, you can't go outside of the specified bases on Waron or Friara without the right protection, such as thermal clothing for Friara and coolant for Waron. Nova is free for you to roam, however. For you to be able to fight, you'll have to go through the government (or shady dealings) to get armor that will give you roughly the same protection as a Reploid. Weapon choices should be more limited though, as you're not all decked out for Reploid-type items.

Missions

If you are a member of either the UNG Military/Police Force, Mavericks, or Hunters, you can sign up at your respective base to go on missions or jobs. Simply post in the Request topic to do so. The mission begins once the assigning admin or mod decides there are enough people signing up. If help is requested from base during the mission (this has to have approval by admins only) then more people may sign up. Limits will be set for each mission, so if you sign up after it is full, then you're out. Also, you may sign up for a mission with any rank. Just know that if you're are a D-Rank going on an S-Rank mission, you'll be in for a bumpy ride. Not all quests in the RP will come from signing up for a mission. You can always do your own thing, or you may even be requested to do a certain task.

Rank

Rank will go up based on not just the success of missions you go on or deeds done, but also your adeptness at RPing. The board doesn't have any set standards you must meet to play, but to go higher in rank, you'll need to be good. With that said, do not be particularly offended if someone else in the same mission goes up a rank, but you do not. These things will happen. Also to note, you don't have to start out at a D-Rank, but that does not mean everyone should flock to S-Rank just because they can.

Dash/Wall Jump

The dash ability from the games can be applied to your character no problem. The triangle/wall jump on the other hand is not allowed. It's a move that can actually be taken advantage of, as could be seen. On the other hand, you may push off a wall at any time, just scaling one by jumping is not allowed.

Password Protected Sectors

As you know, to gain access to a password protected sector, you MUST be a member of that faction. Otherwise, you'll need a special, admin-approved reason to get in. If members not meeting these criteria are seen visiting, the password will be changed, and that member will be warned. If the person received the password from another member, they will also be warned and kicked from the faction. In character, this will be for traitorous reasons.

Addendum:

Please be aware that this is a constantly active RP board. Events and plots are progressing at all times, so you need to be willing to check the board on a daily basis so that you can stay updated as to what is happening with your characters.

Additionally, because everything is constantly progressing, you need to be willing and able to post sometimes as frequently as every other day. We at Rockman: PE understand that you may have individual times when emergencies come up or you are unexpectedly busy- if you take a few moments to let one of the administrators or moderators know when such a thing happens, we can make an exception for you to take that into account.

However, under normal circumstances, we ask that you be willing to devote what we consider to be a reasonable amount of time on a reasonably regular basis to maintaining your presence in this roleplay. We do not want to cast any aspersions on people who like to work slower than this, this is simply how fast we need to be keeping things up on this board. Since the idea is that everything happens at the same pace, we want to be sure that one scene doesn't wind up happening hours later than another scene being simultaneously played.

If you cannot keep up such a pace, you are welcome to observe, but please do not join; as unhappy as it makes us to ward you off for such a minor reason, we much less enjoy the difficulties caused by having a few people posting very slowly, as we suppose all our players do. Worse yet is having to ask someone to leave (or, in extreme cases, tell someone to leave) because they aren't able to keep pace with the other people in the board's roleplay.

Thank you for understanding, and we hope that you have a good time.

Sincerely,
Rockman: Phaelin Era Staff
