Phaelin '08! Posts: 784 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: December 23, 2006	So, you want to RP as a character from the Megaman X Series, eh? Fair enough, those characters are always fun to be after all. There is a bit more a process to getting one of these guys, though. First off, post here stating which character would would like to claim. Simple enough, eh? There are quite a few to choose from, but if there is someone you don't see on the list that you think would fit in well, then send a PM to Derek Barona or myself by all means. The second thing you will have to do is prove that you can handle a character. This is due to the fact that most characters from the games are way more powerful than the usual guy. To prove to us that you can handle it, you will take an RP test of sorts. Send either Derek or myself a PM titled "Character Claiming Test - (Character's Name Here)". In the body of the PM you will create an environment totally of your own choosing. Detail it the best you can, just like you should any RP post. Then you will introduce the character you wish to claim into that environment, performing any random action, just so long as you make sure it would be something they would do in the RP itself. Once you send it, the admin you send it to will reply with an action as well - be it from another character or something else. This will last for about three turns, possibly more, possibly less. At that point the admins will decide if you have shown enough skill to claim that character. You're not quite done yet, though. As soon as you are informed that you have been accepted, you may go ahead and create a character sheet for them. This way you can include any random changes you would like to make in appearance or some such. Also, we may stipulate something about the character's abilities as well. After all, Capcom designed many to do things outside the realm of possibility, so be prepared for that. Once your sheet is approved, you're done! The admins will place it with other claimed character sheets and you will be able to go out and RP your character as you wish. Don't worry, there are no penalties for being denied access to a claimed character. That'd just be plain silly. Here is the list, and as always, you may PM us if you don't see something you like. NOTE: Claimed characters will be colored in blue. When accepted, the owner's name will be included. As you will remember, X6 supposedly happened not long after X5 - about three weeks. This means that the reploids would be there, but not as Mavericks necessarily. That will determine whether or not you're allowed to play as him. We try to make sure people playing as canon characters really know what they're doing. So, I've already sent you the PM, it's in your inbox if you'll check it. The scenario is whatever you like - hotel, street, cyberspace, you name it. I'll test your ability to play as him from there. Once you pass the test, we have you write up a sheet for that character. Mostly for the History part of it, that way we know what happened to Blizzard since he was created and such. Sound good?

He knew why he was here, at least. Someone had given him a call instructing him to arrive at the plant at 5:00 PM. So here he was, but where was the person with the request? That would be what you send me. I expect to see a more detailed version than what I just wrote, but this is only an example, after all. I would then reply like so: PM from Proto Stryker to Player 1 About that time, what appeared to be a container against the wall moments earlier stood up and revealed himself to be a rather large Mechaniloid at 12 feet tall. His right arm, a large hammer in shape, rose up high over his head and plumeted down towards the ground. This gives you an opportunity to respond. When you reply, be sure not to assume your reactions hit my character and things like that. If you did indeed want to try something spiffy, but you'd have to assume something happened with my character, you can ask via PM before sending your actual reply Example: Reply from Player 1 to Proto Stryker I'd like to have Wolfang dodge the attack. It looks like that hammer would be rather large, so would it get stuck momentarily after the attack? If so, I want to use that chance to have Blizzard jump on it, and leap towards the machine's head to attack him. With something like that, I'd reply with an "Ok, that makes sense, go ahead." From there, you could then reply. Player 1 to Proto Stryker Blizzard barely rolled to the side of the attack. As the hammer struck with so much force, it temporarily paralyzed the monstrosity. Wolfang took this chance to leap to the beast's arm. From there, he pushed off, sailing towards its head, and he took one good slash at it. I'll reply, then you'll reply again. From there, the admins will see if your RPing is good enough to pass. We may ask you to go one more round if we're not entirely certain. Did that help?
