A SEASON FOR MIRACLES![]() ( NEWARK, NEW JERSEY - SAYLOR CAMPBELL, NICK KRAMER, FAMILY, & FRIENDS - ATTIRE ) DATE: NOVEMBER 22, 2012 Thanksgiving wasn't exactly turning out the way that she hoped. Saylor Campbell planned a wonderful dinner for her family and friends. She made sure that there was enough food, everyone was comfortable, and everything went smoothly. Everything did go smoothly... except for her parents meeting her boyfriend. The ridiculed him; said he wasn't good enough for Saylor. He was a mental case. Soon the entire dinner table was fighting like the North and South in the Civil War. Only it wasn't very civil. Saylor attempted to calm everyone down and get them to enjoy the bountiful feast she prepared, but her father and Nick couldn't stop yelling at one another. Her sister Eliza yelled at Nick. Her mom put her head in her hands. Jasmin and Brandon felt like they needed to comfort Saylor, though they didn't. Alissa watched it all, laughing... until Saylor started seizing from the stress and panic attack she was having. Nick did the thing no one else could think of; he called 911. They rushed to the Newark, New Jersey estate and got Saylor into the ambulance. She began to fall in and out of consciousness, faintly hearing the paramedics trying to get her attention. She could feel the oxygen mask over her face and a familiar voice shouting her name. She wanted to reply, she wanted to tell him she heard him. Suddenly a feeling of fatigue and pure exhaustion fell over her. She couldn't breathe, she couldn't stay awake, she couldn't do anything. That was it; everything went black. Her eyes slowly fluttered open in the dimly lit hospital room. She felt the oxygen in her nose, realizing this was far more serious than last time. Last time she didn't seize. Last time she didn't pass out. She had to wonder what this was doing to her baby. But that wasn't her main concern right now. The day where you were supposed to be thankful for everything you have and everyone you have... she was going to spend it in the hospital. Saylor closed her eyes once again, trying to fall asleep and make all of this go away. "Saylor...? Sweetie? It's mom... How are you feeling?" her mother's dainty voice was unmistakeable. Saylor looked up to see her mother, Delilah, standing there with a smile on her face to see her little girl awake and okay. It made Saylor smile to see her mother at her side. She looked down toward the end of the bed to see Brandon, Jasmin, Eliza, Alissa, and her dad worried sick. Then, as she shifted her glance to her left, she saw the man she loved, visibly upset about this whole ordeal. He was clutching her hand. She hadn't even noticed that. Saylor saw a few tears in his eyes. She looked back to her mom, ready to answer, before her dad cut in. "You know, none of this would have happened if that THING Saylor calls a boyfriend would have kept his mouth shut like a respectable man," he snarled. Before Saylor could defend Nick, she felt his grip loosen on her hand, letting it go so he could clench his fists, "Thing?! This thing saved your daughter's life! This thing called 911 while everyone else was aimlessly running around in circles like lunatics. This THING loves your daughter more than anything and would do anything it takes to keep her safe!" Delilah shook her head, twirling around to glare at her husband, "Richard, stop it. Now is not the time for any of this!" "No, this is the second time he's put Saylor in the hospital and endangered her well being because of his selfish attention seeking ways." Saylor began to cry. Nick grit his teeth, not wanting to cause anymore damage. Eliza and Alissa already fled the scene. They wanted nothing to do with this. Likely, they made their way to a waiting room. Tears rolled down her cheeks. Nick looked to Saylor, realizing that this was doing even more harm. It was what caused her to have a seizure and stop breathing in the first place. He stood up, approaching Richard, Saylor's father. He looked down before looking back up to him. "Sir, I realize that we got off on the wrong foot, but look at Saylor. She's upset. This is what caused her to be here in the first place. Not one person. All of us. Myself included. We all made this day hell for her and I just want her to be happy. So I'm going to have to respectfully ask that you leave the room. Mrs. Campbell, I know you're just trying to help, but please, if you would too? I need to talk to Saylor alone," Nick was quiet with his tone and much more calm than usual. None the less, with Brandon and Jasmin still sitting on the couch on the other side of the room, Saylor's parents were asked to leave. Her father, ready to put up a fight, shook his head no. Thankfully Delilah grabbed him by the arm and drug him out of the room before he could say anything to further upset Saylor. After they made their way out of the room, Nick turned back to look at Saylor. She sobbed, hand over her face with the other on her stomach. "I'm so sorry, Nick. I never meant for any of this to happen. My mom sounded so excited to meet you. I thought my dad felt the same. You shouldn't have had to deal with any of that. I'm sorry..." she whispered. Nick shook his head, "Look, Saylor, I love you. More than anything. Remember what we always say? Forever and always. I mean that too. You've always been the one to tell me that everything would be okay. Now it's my turn to tell you that. I'll take care of all of this. Everything will be alright. I promise, Sunshine. I promise." He sighed, taking Saylor's hand again. He kissed the top of her hand before looking to Brandon, reaching into his pocket. Brandon's eyes enlarged. He turned to Jasmin, whispering something in which Jasmin smacked him afterward. He pulled out his phone and muttered something under his breath, but Saylor didn't pay any attention to her "brother" and his future wife. Instead she watched as Nick clutched something in his hand from his pocket. He let out another soft sigh before getting down on one knee slowly. Immediately the water works kicked on and Saylor was in tears. She knew what was coming as soon as he got on one knee, not to mention the fact that when he opened his hand, a gorgeous diamond ring sat inside it. "Say... Never... Never did I think I'd be doing this here and now, but I am. I wanted to wait until the time was right and I had this thing down. When I prepared myself to make this grand speech you'd never forget. Right now that doesn't matter though. All that really matters is that I feel like it's time. I love you, Say. This time, as I say forever and always, I want to ask you... Saylor Laine Campbell... Will you marry me?" the entire time he spoke his voice was shaky and nervous. Saylor couldn't find the words to answer him. She nodded her head vigorously, watching as his frown turned upside down and he slid the ring onto her finger. He stood up quickly, kissing her hand before leaning down to share a passionate kiss with his now fiancee. Saylor continued to cry, even after their kiss parted. She wiped her tears away with a small chuckle as Nick stood back, his hand still grasping hers. Brandon and Jasmin approached the hospital bed with smiles on their faces. "HA! Betchuu wasn't expecting that one, Say. Looks like Little Nicky grew a set over here, huh?" Brandon was quickly elbowed in the ribs by his own fiancee, Jasmin. Nick chuckled a bit, but Saylor still couldn't say anything. The shock and surprise of it all brought her to tears before, and took her breath away, metaphorically. Nick motioned for the door. The couple left to give them a bit of privacy for a few moments. He pulled a chair close to her bed, looking at the oxygen in her nose, the IV in her arm, all of the machines that were helping her. "I would... like nothing more than to be your wife. It's a season for miracles, Nick. The fact that our baby is still okay after what happened is a miracle in itself. The bigger miracle here is that we both found love. Something we never thought was possible for each other. I can't find the words right now... but what I can say is I love you. Forever and always..." her weak voice was barely audible, but still, Nick was able to hear it and shed a tear himself. It might not have started out as a day to be thankful for, but in the end, Saylor was thankful for everything she had in life. Her daughter, Alanna. Baby Zaylor. Her best friends, Brandon and Jasmin. Most of all though? Her future husband, Nick Kramer. The love of her life. OOC: So... I hope you all enjoyed this solo CD. Mike and I came up with the idea weeks ago and I finally was able to write it today and so I'm really happy. It's a new chapter for Zaylor and a huge step for Zack. I can't wait to start talking about this with Saylor's gal pals. Lord knows she loves talking about Baby Zaylor. Imagine this! ;P |
