Shanks by Intoxicados; The more drunk character in one piece

As go people!
after almost a year of ausence or more return with this character .. shanks the captain of the redhair pirates

HISTORY ..

It is one of four Yonko (considered the strongest pirates q dominate the new world according to the World Government, they are: Shanks, Whitebeard, Kaido, BigMom and is currently Whitebeard replaced by Blackbeard)
He was the man who inspired Luffy to follow his dream of becoming "Pirate King", who also is found the Gomu Gomu no Mi Devil Fruit Luffy accidentally transformed into a rubber man.
He and his crew are almost always seen in the middle of a party or banquet, getting drunk and gorging food.
It is against the idea of shedding blood for honor and only seen him start a fight if his friend is in danger

This character was initiated by Mikel888 who for various reasons could not finish it
I will continue ... keep some of their techniques to the readjust my style and I did the rest from scratch ..
char I did with the intension that is based on ambush attacks .. it has all 3 types of haki .. the Conqueror haki, speed and armor
the character has not seen him fight yet in the series but its position is roughly supposed to be a badass guy!

kick ass charter but Jesus I couldn't pull off a single super move how fast do you have to push the buttons for it to work I mean these combos are impossible....like the rest of the charters that only use 3 buttons it is a decent charter but it's way to hard to pull off a super move or even some of the lower combos can you make it a little less complicated I followed the moveset perfectly and they still didn't active in training or battle I haven't managed to pull off a super move even once and I played for 20 mins straight on that char whats the point of combos if you can't use em and if pros can use them fine but can you make it a little easier for noobs like me (who've been playing mugen for years with tons of different chars none of them have combos this hard to pull off)

very enjoyable character!!! i like the stance and moves very much thanks intoxicados for releasing shanks! as for bugs i do not know if its one but sometimes drunk dance may miss the target. anyway good luck with garp's dogs :lol:

I like the character and it's pretty nice but overall for me, it was pretty disappointing.

You centralized the character kinda towards the "drunk" image and that kinda changed all of your specials into little non-serious moves. i was expecting more of large hitbox and huge damage moves but i guess not.

i dont see the point in the haki move too. You cant even jump high, you can only do basic attacks, and it doesn't do as much as damage as it should. Shanks is part of the famous "Yonko" who has a very stable yet explosive haki moves. He is considered probably the "Best" haki user in the entire one piece series. and he can't even jump when he uses haki? I think, instead of having two or three moves, you should make more combos involving haki since you have the entire button labeled as "haki".

Also, there is lack of combos. It may be my preference of having a lot of combos on a character that has not been introduced much in the actual anime or the manga, but Shanks should have a good flexibility of using the right moves at the right occasions. Meaning, Shanks should have enough amount of moves that he has the choices to use when the enemy teleport behinds Shanks, or when the enemy is approaching from the air. This shanks can only do certain things. AI seems to stutter when it tries to fight. When I play it, I can't do much combos because there aren't that many moves.

For the AI, most of the time, it gets hit by most of the projectiles or get combo-ed by other character. I'm pretty sure somebody asked to make a harder AI for this character.

That's all i gotta say. it seemed like your Smoker was better than this one. If I were to choose between Frankpe's Shanks and yours, I would choose Frankpe's, despite the absence of special effects. I was personally hoping that I would choose yours. :( I agree a lot with tee2330 in certain view.

You are not doing bad because you can't be bad when you are Wenchu's friend LOL, but this project disappointed me because I was expecting a very strong character. I may not be a coder but you want everyone's criticism and public's response to improve and get better in terms of idea, coding, spriting, etc. right? Keep up the good work and please keep working on mugen because we need people like you.

I do not think you have to perform difficult movements.
This is a criticism that we routinely perform in this forum.

I do not believe appropriate.if they find it difficult to mark D, DF, F + a (Hadoken: the traditional movement Ryu) or super move F, B, DB, D, DF, F + c (Shokoken: Ryo Sakasaki traditional movement), it is because have played many more games Smash Bros style, or "forward and fight." We try to follow the old traditional style of the King of Fighter, Street Fighter or Guilty Gear games. And that's not "" "difficult" "", much less "impossible". We will continue this line on all chars.

Kuzan, another issue is the amount of damage. You can not expect a massively damaging character to another very easily. That unbalances the relationship between the characters and makes it impossible to fight. It is true that the character seems to "stutter". That is because maybe some movements are not very polished in their breaks or in their hitvelset.

Of Haki, one can not expect much. the character does more damage when their power goes up. That in a 2D Skins is a huge advantage. Admittedly, yes, we have few moves in that mode. Maybe we should add one more year and modify another. But no more. Although not yet know much about Shanks fighting style (we can only rely on the games Gigant Battle and Grand Adventure), we have little right to mobility with the benefit of doing more damage. Another thing you should not expect from us is a movement of "teleport" to P2. That's an invention of DBZ entirely inapplicable to a 2D fighting.

Ever fought KOF2002 vs Rugal?? Shin Gouki SVC Chaoz??? Goeniz KOF1996?? I-no GGXX?? Mu-13 Blaz Blue? speak the officials games, not some character mugen. Its damage is 110%, and life 1200. And there is no mass movement to take out life one stroke, single speed, intelligence, a good defense. That's a balanced final boss. Someday we will schedule a Whitebeard, Blackbeard, Kizaru, Akainu and Aokiji. In any case, expect these out imbalances. Be characters that are superior stair to the other, but it will be the player's ability to continue determining the superiority and not a supermove.

I wish someone would answer me this last question. He played those classic 2D fighting games ever?

I do agree with some of the explanations and some of the imbalances that you pointed out. However, you seem to misunderstand some of the points that I made.

First, I don't think I mentioned any difficulties in moves, unless you were directing it towards someone else.

Second, I meant huge amount of damage as in the potential of the character, such as combos. I really liked Frankpe's AI and character because his characters have standing, crouching, air, anti-air moves, 3 for each. This created a lot of flexibility instead of just spam of the attacks. When the enemy is in the air, it attacks towards the air, when the enemy is far away, it uses range attacks. When the enemy is close, it uses melee attacks. When the enemy is lying down, it doesn't spam attacks. These kinds of flexibility in the moves are the things that I wanted to mention the most. Well, I have forgotten to put it. With that, there is a huge amount of damage dealt. Yeah and I agree with you that if I were to add more damage, health, or defense, there can obviously be imbalances. I did not really think about that in terms of gameplay.

Third, the "teleport" that I mentioned earlier was just an example of the enemy character. LOL Like, what would Shanks do in that type of situation. I personally don't appreciate characters that can teleport. So I don't expect that from you guys.

Also, you mentioned Whitebeard, Blackbeard, Kizaru, Akainu and Aokiji because you are going to make them slightly imbalanced right? Correct me if I'm wrong. Then shouldn't you make this Shanks slightly imbalanced too?

It is really hard to see balances in the characters that you made because they all have different fighting styles. If they were to have some balances, they should have a similar fighting styles. For example, GamerXP's old creations, Zoro and Ace, or the Line to the Dream characters that they were planning on doing. All of them seemed to have or planed on having almost equal balances in terms of moves. I don't think avoiding to make the characters "imbalance" would be a problem if they all already are imbalanced. I understand that your Luffy, Zoro, Smoker, Ace, Sanji, Usopp, Lucci, Moria, etc all have different fighting styles but they are all already imbalanced to begin with. I think you should add some "Factors" to make them somehow balanced, such as "Heat" "Bloodheat" mode from the Melty Blood series.

Well, this seems like a good discussion. Making the characters "balanced" is definitely a difficult task but sometimes, I personally believe that the balancing should go towards how the anime or the manga actually portrays. If you check out Mugen Guild forum, famous coders like Infinite, Rajaaboy, they have some characters that they slightly make stronger because of their personal preferences.
