Spoiler: click to toggle Spoiler: click to toggle Update 2: im coding the cns and cmd now and im going to make him a 4-button char with the standard 3000 power meter. the xism (1000 power meter) is somewhat hard because it only gives the player a few chances to perform super moves. Update 3: here's video displaying basic attacks and clsn boxes. dont blink its a 40 second video Spoiler: click to toggle

well this is a One Piece forum, so it will be expected to not have many replies. You could opt to show screenshots or videos of it to tell more info about it if you coded any attacks already. I once tried to code kabuto as well, the version of him called by fans as "kabutomaru". I had made a system for his edo tensei guys but as soon as I successfully implemented my system, I realized it was a cheap concept (p1 + edo tensei against p2 puts p2 at a clear disadvantage) no matter how low the attack damages are. Here is the only video I made of it long ago P.S. I did not know those incomplete crap tutorials I made really helped someone even in a little way. Thanks for bothering to watch those tutorials of mine. |

i havent coded any attacks yet so i thought that gif would be enough for now. i will add more stuff later on. about your kabutomaru, maybe if you make the edo tensei a super move where the dead characters do their strongest move and just disappear after its finished, something like this http://youtu.be/y94gGdlucxU?t=1m5s when i thought of making an orochimaru char i wanted to do the edo tensei super this way because fighting games are different than anime, you just cant have 2 or three characters beating the hell of one character. no man, thank you. your tutorials not bad at all, they really got me interested in char making, when i first opened cyanide's tutorials i was frustrated when i saw all of these walls of text, it really turned me off. you should be proud of them. BTW do you think my progress match the percentage i gave? Edited by madgamer92, Sep 3 2013, 05:33 AM.

sorry for late reply. had a full day yesterday the issue about giving percentages, is in my opinion, inherently subjective. Only the coder might have an idea of what should be 100%, so only he can honestly know what % he has done so far. Personally, I don't give % because I always have lots of ideas pop up my mind from random times, so I have to prepare them (editing finding sprites, coding them) to implement my idea. But IMO 45% is too high if you said you haven't coded a single attack yet. Yeah, your idea for edo tensei is better. like 1 super for akatsuki group, 1 super for another group, etc. About being cheap/overpowered, there are lots of ways to do that, having multiple chars against 1 char is one of them (even if the damage is 0 actually) because the 1 char is always on guard and can't move backwards and cornered. Other obvious ways are to increase stats (life/power), damage values, make cheap or spamming AI (it's called Artificial Intelligence, not Artificial Aggressiveness, dumb people think a char that never stops attacking is good AI), and many more ways. About my tutorials, thanks. I also learned to code from videos. It's hard to explain in words what to click without seeing it. And for coding attacks, my tutorials are not the best, but I did pointed out some important parameters in hitdef to make your attack smoother on a basic level (ex. an uppercut should make enemy go up when you hit him, make him fall, how long do you and p2 pause during the hit, etc) |

Update: new attack that i edited, its a jumping uppercut slash. Posted Image do you think his jump is aligned properly? Edited by madgamer92, Sep 10 2013, 01:19 PM.

I would not align the sprites like that (going up) even if it is a jump attack. the jump attack is going to "jump" already by default in mugen. the sprite edits are ok. |

no its a rising uppercut that is done from a stance postion. its not an air attack. like this ryu uppercut http://youtu.be/UjGxw2RoGKE?t=1m33s or would you mean that there's a special code for moves like this? |

Ok, Even if it is used from a standing position, you should still align them using the foot from the char's back (from the char's point of view). Yes, there are at least 3 possible simple codes for moving up, left, down, right, diagonal. (velset, veladd, velmul) The attack in the gif in your sig too needs to be aligned from the feet. You can code kabuto to jump up before slamming down on the opponent (attack in the GIF). |

where can i add those? i only saw volset, and when i tried to change the value of y it got missed up and kabuto started going through floor lolz. and if i press again he'll completely go into it and only his shadow will apear in the background. screenshots: Spoiler: click to toggle Spoiler: click to toggle video displaying basic attacks and clsn boxes. dont blink its a 40 second video Spoiler: click to toggle Edited by madgamer92, Sep 21 2013, 10:33 AM.

It's velset. You can also use velmul or veladd. You need to know that x will always be the horizontal aspect, y is the vertical aspect. |
