Shiki from OPGB2; 2nd Char by frankpe

Hi All

Again & AGAIN, updated on 3 May (1 day from the last update on 2 May, it's a shame.. :( )

It's been 4 days after his first release... I've completed AI version of Shiki. I believe he is now pretty much all done. This is the first time I code AI. I belive he is reasonable strong, not too much. I did a few test, around 50/50 against Wenchu's Luffy, Lucci & Zoro (These are 3 quite strong chars)
Thanks Wenchu a lot for providing me his cool FX and point out many issues. Most of these have been fixed.

Feedback & Bugs report welcome~


What's left:
Animation before Lv3 super, due to incomplete sprite sheet from SDB, I will update depending on SDB.

good char. i suggest to u. U need more Hi-Res effects (sparks etc.)

keep it up ur chars not cheap.

So far, I like it! I like the a+b+c button system, since all of you guys are coding chars that way, now it's more like a "real" game with the same button system for all the chars. Go on and thanks!

good char.
mainly by neatness, which is a feature not very abundant. The char is balanced, without major advantages in its favor while maintaining everything that characterizes it.

flight mode, is very well implemented. Maybe you should put some swing while not moving. You should also stop flying when it reaches the floor (or "post and> -1"). It is good to keep all the skills that would jump.

by the system of buttons, is also good to share the set of 3 buttons. However I had ordered the other. As you did, between C and the B button, no major differences. I would have made the gravity of the rocks is with the C button, and all the techniques that put the C pass to B. The same order it is not easy because I also think that as I say a few things left to button A.


Another issue is that of FX. I think none should build on the FX original game. They are very basic and can be made mugen best work.
here I share my library of FX (195 MB). Are most of those who recopié of different publications. I hope you give it to good use.

The super moves char think are a little loose. Well made, but they lack that special touch that should have.

when the stones hit the opponent or leave the floor, should spark some pogramar to look like the stone is broken.


despite all these comments, I think it's one of the best chars that are posted on this forum, especially for your thoroughness. Keep it up little by little you will improve your character.

Especially thanks Wenchu for giving me his comment and suggustion. No wonder you are the best OP coder. I like your chars since I first started play OP mugen. Actually I had thought many of your suggustion before I release it.

Fly mode swing- Not done due to --I didn't know how, tried when first start coding it but not working.. then forgot to come back there again! :P
I made fly mode not reaching floor (pos y 0), will stay at least -5, unless cancel it(D,a+b). To prevent from reaching ground and stop flying when you just want him fly low.

I also like 3 buttons control system for OPGB chars when playing as a fighting game... when I first start coding him, in my mind punches/rocks(A) are weak attacks, kicks(B&C) are stronger(because these are his main attacks, and sword slashes aways stronger than punch)... but now these floating rocks seem more popular than kicks.

Stone broken anim was not done again due to lack of resourse... instead I put another anim(I know it's better to have a real rock broken/explosion anim....see if I can get one.

The super moves....Original Lv2(9 rock projs) never has that special touch even in original game... I tried, it's the best I can get. Lv1(lion) can improve, I believe that's lack of sparks.
That Lv3 seriously need improve....explosion when the huge rock hit down is so not enough, I didn't make it right because ... IT IS TOO HARD, it should be explod of 20? or more different small rock sprites....instead I got sprites from other games to cover it up.... :unsure: (sorry for cheating, yes I'm lazy) All these supers need greater hit sound effects.

FX, honestly I never cared much about it. I know they look great, and people think that's cool to have. I had few in Shanks & a few in Shiki because I need some effect. I would have used sparks/FX from original OPGB game if it exist on SDB...I always think for OPGB chars Hi-Res is too fancy, didn't bother to look for any FX. However, what u have post is really useful. Thanks a lot for posting it! I would use them wisely!

... he is again updated today(after yesterday's unsuccessful update, Shanks also), sorry guys, I wasn't in right mood yesterday.

Next char is not started yet. I can tell it's Doflamingo on the line.. not sure if anyone is working on him, pls let me know. Errr, anyway, that wouldn't stop me unless it's over 90% done. Plan to complete in 3 weeks.

If someone can give me Roger's complete sprite sheet, he will be first priority... if no, nevermind.

you hold down and press a and b at the same time, but dont hold down for a lot of time or else he wont fly
