O_O Uber, badass and scary at the same time xD

Anyway, I have a question :

Do any of you guys are currently or passed the University ? (University : i think it's the same in french/english ? At 18years, you're normally supposed to go to university)

Because i would be happy to have some Q/A about university.

If i'm right, Lucci85 and UberPrinny are in university ?

wow...i said "university" many times...

For me, beginning was easy and fun. I've liked almost every course so far and have very few complaints.

Oh Ok, and how many years will you spend on University ?

And do you have some free time to do whatever you want, or you just have to be focused at 100% in studies ?

I really don't know what to do. I have 3days left to decide :
-go to an engineer school for 5years.
or
-in a University for 2years then go to the engineer school...

I don't really feel ready for the engineer but everyone is pushing me so hard in it (parents, relatives)

I'm at the second year out of 3, of the first level of university studies. I'll move to Milan to get the last two years of the second level, in Bocconi.
Also, Kerle, next year I'm moving to Helsinki university for an exchange program. Anything about linguistic subjects they can do?

@Kerle, Mankie : The problem is : the engineer school is teaching many things i love about technology...

It's just that i don't think i'm able to handle an engineer school, because of all the things i heard around it : "no life during 5years, studying, studying and studying", for 5 years and because i don't think i have the level to study in there...i admit i'm just scared as hell.

I don't want to deceive my family on this point.

The second problem is : my godfather is an engineer who studied on that school. And he thinks he can do it...

Conclusion : i don't know if i'm good enough for an engineer school.

ok,so let me tell you something.i finished an...lets call it "engineering" highschool"(here in croatia you choose what you want to study pretty early) because i wasn't interested in anything at the time and all my friends decided to attend it.later i went to an engineering college because, again,i didnt know what i wanted and just like in your case,my family thought i can handle it.i only finished one year before i dropped out.that one year i partied 2-3 times a week and goofed around a lot and still got through the first year, but, with disappointing grades, and then, when i decided to drop out i disappointed my family even more, all because i didnt know what i want and because of their high hopes.the good thing is i found what i want to study, but,i wasted almost one year worth of time, don't let this happen to you.give it some thought before doing anything :)

To be honest, i'm just scared as hell to do engineering school.

But my godfather is himself an engineer, watched all my work, and is sure about 100% i can do it.
I know myself that i'm not dumb, not a genius, i get good notes even when i don't work and hate those special categories.

I worked in electronics for about 3years, i hate electronics so badly, but i get 14/20 without doing shit.

Working in something i like can really boost me i think.

The thing is : i'm scared as hell, don't want to leave my family even if i want to. It just pisses me off so badly guys...

Dude, I'm leaving my family in a year to go to a private business super-expensive university in a city which is 1000 km from where I live.
Some off topic to explain why I'm going there

I don't really think you do what you want without sacrifices. Also, your family will not be around forever, so it's time for you to know that the world is a bit more of a violent jungle. You get something wrong, you GTFO, there's no way back or no way out.
Alone is not better, but at least you get used to doing hard stuff without needing support all the time.

I personally have been looking at Acting or Teaching. Politics is always an option, the way things are run in America is frustrating, though I'd end up in the same positions as the people currently in power. It's hard to explain really, they start with good intentions (well, I like to assume most of them do) but the way it's run with parties it kind of...falls apart.

I'm a pretty decent actor, and a comedian, so I'm trying my hand at those in University, also doing a double major in education so that I may be an English teacher or a Theater teacher as a back up.

@lucci : yeah, you're totally right, but the engineer school is still scary for me :/ (don't know if i'm able to work well there) but leaving my family is now something i understand and can finally agree on.

@Kazama : I think you should turn on politics, even if acting is a beautiful world.
Simply because many politics don't have to be implicated on TV affairs and problem. You just work as an assistant, and they make a lot of money.

And Thanks guys for your replies, i appreciate it :)

it's all about finding your place in this world.if you don't feel good where you are and miss your family to the point of depression,it means you didn't find it.i agree and disagree with lucci,to find something you have to lose something but you "dig the tunnel" called life and make your way out of it.and remember, the biggest mistake and unsuccess is not failing but not trying at all :)
