I look forward to this thread every year. We had all hits (so far) except for one. And it sucks because it was something she really wanted Santa to bring her. Mom and Dad got the Barbie sewing machine in the Wishbook (from Santa) and it sucks. It doesn't sew a thing. She was really looking forward to having her own sewing machine at nanny's so she can help Nanny sew. She doesn't seem to disappointed about it. I told her we will send it back to Santa and that one of his elves must of made a mistake. She said that maybe Santa didn't realize she didn't want a toy one. So we're all good. I'm gonna get a mini sewing machine in place of it. The biggest hits were her bean bag chair, Lala loopsey, her Hello Kitty MP3 Player and The World Map for the Tag Reader (she also got the Tag Reader for xmas). The map is awesome, she's been playing with it non stop and has learned so much from it already. But she loves globes and maps anyways so I told sil it will be a hit. |

We've only had hits so far too! D:D Mackenzie loves her dollhouse and her LeapPad probably the most of everything she got. We tried out the crayon maker last night and it works fine...kinda anticlimactic tho, IMO! Jaden loves everything from light saber bedroom light from think geek to his laptop. He got the video racer, we haven't really played with it yet but I'm not sure it's worth the $$! Kam got everything on his very short but specific list :rotf He loves his Dazzle for recording his xbox and uploading to YouTube, I'd never heard of it but have to admit it's pretty neat! We surprised him with a cell phone, he's been asking but I told him it was a waste of time to ask because he wasn't getting it :misss: Then about a week before Xmas the company upgraded it's policy so we ended up with two new phones so we got him the galaxy nexus...he's in love! The toy I hate the most would have to be the Squinkies...totally, completely pointless and way too small to keep track of :duh: |

Alicia, I saw Squinkles at a friend's house the other day and can totally see what you mean. holy tiny toys. most everything here went over well. J hasn't really touched his tablet yet - too caught up in creating his very own dino world. K's play kitchen is a hit with them both. and it has a BBQ. and I LOVE it too :D MIL got J this dino excavator board game like Operation and after trying to pinch out 3 bones, the sound (a dino roar instead of a buzz) stopped working. :duh: I mean, come on, first time playing it and it's basically broken. he doesn't care about the sound since getting frustrated not being able to get the bones out without the dino roaring. Also, Santa got him a spiderman watch and it cracked where it bends/at the join when he first tried to put it on. It came from the "Zellars" workshop so I'm not impressed that it broke before he even got to wear it. K got this little Baby Alive doll that sings and dances. she's pretty cute and K likes her but she gets to be a little annoying after awhile . otherwise, all good here D:D |

I agree about the squinkies ALicia.. K got them for her bday and I ended up throwing most of them out.. too many little kids around here. We had mostly hits here too. Would you believe that Carter got a (used) Ipod Touch, a plasma car AND we wrapped up Mickey and gave him a trip to florida (!) and when we asked his favorite gift - it was the 3 stuffed angry birds? WTH? K got the leappad - and loves it although a little old for her (which I was prepared for), loves her puppy stroller - it fits her lalaloopsy perfectly LOL. Nothing here really that didn't work or was disappointing - best money spent was definitely the plasma cars... EVERYONE is loving those. |

Mommy to Claire & Brady
|
We got the kids Ipod Touchs, obviously with all the apps, on it its a hit. Claire loves her Lalaloopsy doll as well. Nothing really was a Miss. mom got Brady the Innotab, (cause bradys loves electronics!) and it has to be returned already. he broke the screen. Dont know how.. didnt think you could but it happened, i guess his age and that. you would think he would have broken the Ipod Touch first since he hasn't layed it down yet! |

Thankfully mostly hits here this year as well. Dd hasn't stopped with gogo or her baby alive and ds loves his innotab. The immaginext pirate ship was a miss for him as much as I thought he would love it dd has been the one playing with it. A surprise hit has been a leapfrog scanner and food and also the game don't wake daddy. I'm sure things will change in a couple if days when the newness wears off. |

I personally am not overly impressed with the leap pad it works fine... but I think in part is because we already have a lot of leapfrog gear. For example we have had the tag for about 4 years and also have the tag junior. All the books that you can buy for the leap pad are the same books we already have for tag. We also have all the leapfrog dvds and those are the same as the video apps. So hate to pay for things twice at the price they are asking. The US site (leapfrog.com) has more apps than the cdn and more that I think nik would like... dh has written them and complained about that. I also need to find a charger for it cause it seems to eat batteries. We got the pirates of the caribbean queen annes revenge that was at costco... it was a hit but I think it is poorly made. Also my brother managed to score a bunch of the sonic collectable figures... and lets just say that even though they are posable they would have been better to be collectables... but obviously a 6 year old is not going to do that :rotf D hasn't looked at his lego sets yet.... but I am thankful for that with the mess that is currently here. We also had a wall light saber (i got it at zellers) that was a hit and I thought the zombie lab worked well. Dylan was happy with all his games and nik got all imaginext and playskool hero stuff so he was pleased as punch. The thing I love the most is the kinect. It is impossible to set up a profile for nik (wont stay still long enough... but he's 2) otherwise I love love love it! The kids got a bunch of games for it but the most popular so far is the disneyland park one... I can not even begin to describe what went on in our rec room when the kids got to battle captain hook! |

I wish we could use our Tag books for our Leap Pad too, M has all of the princess ones and half of the other ones listed on the site, I'm not buying them again. She likes the pet games, art studio and the camera best. She got three games for Xmas and I downloaded the disney ultra book and kidbops for her, between all that and the free downloads that should keep her entertained for a while! |

Skylanders for Wii is a huge hit this year! Dr. Dreadful lab stuff was not what N expected but we've had lots of fun using it. I could do without the sticky mess :) |

Well everything was a hit for us. DS got 2 snall gifts to open in Mexico. He loves his 3DS and his Wii Kirby game. My brother brought his Wii along to PV and it's good for down time. DD LOVED her broadway tickets. Her expression was priceless. She also got Modern Family Season 2 but everything after NYC was anti-climatic for sure! |

I am a bit disappointed in the leappad too. I haven't spent alot of time looking into the available apps but DD is not thrilled with it so far, and considering what it cost along with the downloads and games I bought it hardly seemed worth it. She would have much rathered an Ipod touch !! I refused to get it, but now looking at it I am sure it would have been cheaper !. Any suggestions on apps or games for the leappad?? TRU has40% off the games this week, not much selection in store though . The Ipod touch was a hit for DS, and his Ultra Lo Scooter ! DD loved her stroller, despite my disappointment in quality, and her microphone. She liked her American Girl too but its just another doll to her. I gave her the extra outfits for her birthday so she has had fun dressing her up. The quality of the outfits is amazing. The footwear especially... should be I guess considering the cost ! A couple of misses were not from Santa... the easy bake oven and the blizzard maker. |

I'm not sure if anything was really a miss. They both love their bean bag chairs. Even though Alexander really loves his xbox 360, he doesn't play it very often bc he don't have enough games. It was a last minute gift so he only got one game besides the one that came with it and neither one is really his age....but then again most of the games we have here are not his age... :misss: The first couple days after christmas he carried his Peanut doll around with him but now it's under the tree again. Alexander opened his legos and put together a boat. Every now and then he plays with that. He watched one of his Little Rascals movies (he loves them). Kyle got a lot of ps3 games and his laptop (which I use the most watching netflix.. :shhh ) but tboth boys still play their old games for ps3. There are a couple games that Kyle got that aren't even open yet. He's still playing his old games (black ops and nhl 12) Neither boy turned their noses up to any of their gifts. |

Santas gifts were all a hit - construction site, art easel, and imaginext fire station/truck (I love this !! Thanks to whoever reccomended imaginext to me!!). Miss - the gift mommy and daddy gave :( (Mator Golf) ... its garbage ... i thought Ds would love it but he hasn't even played with it and I think it is garbage. He got a cars shake em and go race track, and a cd player with microphone when we went around the bay but they are still not out of the box so no idea if they are a hit or not! Not taking them in from the garage until his playroom is complete - should be only another day or so, DH is building me a huge shelving unit for it (yay!). We also had an innotab given to him as well but I had to return it. I tried setting it up before xmas, and the screen froze on me. I wasn't impressed with it bc teh touch part wasn't working well either ... maybe it was a lemon? I was considering replacing it with a leappad, but after hearing what you guys had to say maybe I will stick to the innotab ... |
