I'm happy that they are thinking about an All Day Kindergarden.. Just because it will help with daycare, having to find daycare for HALF of the day costs just as much as a full day does.

will be a big help!!!

I must be missing something, I don't see anything about all-day Kindergarten, here I was getting excited about that with Rachel heading off in 2011.... I like the tax reductions in higher income brackets! D:D

So basically they are putting it off even longer?? They were supposedly starting a "pilot" several years ago for it, but continue to drag their feet on the matter... I will believe it when i see it, maybe when my grandkids get to go to Kindergarten for a full day??

I think I'd be in favor of that - I have heard what a nightmare the kindergarten year is with the 1/2 days...not looking forward to that!

It would be nice if all day kindergarten was an option. Noah would really benefit from that, but I know some kids who wouldn't transition to that very well. Then again, when you think of all the kids who are in day care all day they are already used to it!

I was all for it with Amelia, but Gabe couldn't handle it AT ALL. He had a hard enough time with it in Grade One! But I'm sure if they go all day it would be more play, less "academics"... He would go from kindergarten to daycare, and that was OK. It wasn't that he wasn't used to being in a somewhat structured situation all day, it was a question of degrees. LOL

I HATE half day kinds and especially the swap from morning to afternoon every month!!!!!!!
Jenna was doing full days in Australia and was coping fine, I totally agree that it deoends on the child.
