just wondering if anyone knows some good sites that they have ordered from. I figure with the dollar being so good and all I might buy some different Christmas gifts for the states. i know that some of these companies offer free shipping sometimes. So if you have any recommendations please let me know. Especially when their is free shipping. TIA |

Ok, anything BUT overstock.com. LOL. I just went on there, and picked out a ton of stuff that I loved, and then realized that they don't ship to Canada. So, I arranged to have the stuff shipped to a friend in the states, and then their online fraud department called and said they don't take out of country visa cards!
:duh:
:duh:
:duh: I ended up having to paypal the money, plus paypal fees to my friend who then placed the order herself on her credit card, and once she gets it, I will have to paypal her shipping... Can you tell I REALLY REALLY wanted that stuff???? LOL I always shop with Lands End and LL Bean, and of course, e-bay... I'm gonna check out that JC Penney site!!! |

I'm really interested in US shopping links, too. Thanks for mentioning JCPenney, Lisa! I've haven't shopped there personally, but a friend of mine often does on-line shopping at www.disneyshopping.com Shipping to Canada is fairly reasonable: $8.50 - up to $25 $9.50 - $25-50 $12.50 - $50-100 $13.50 - $100+ *Canada is not listed in their shipping specials (ie. now there is a US special - $5 for orders over $50), but if you create an account you should be directed to the Canada shipping prices. I was just browsing and came across cotton pjs for DS for $7.99 D:D |

I usually shop eBay mostly. But just becarefull on your shipping methods. USPS is best, you may have to pay customs only. UPS or any other courier will charge their own brokerage fees plu s any custom charges. And there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the amount. Sh had stuff come for his car that cost $60 and had no customs, but UPS charges nearly $70 for brokerage, in the same breath, he had something else come that cost $200 and only had to pay $40 brokerage to UPS. I always ask if USPS is a shipping option first before ordering. It can save you a ton of money!! |

I know, I am now looking online, seeing things I'd like to order!!
:) Do you get charged with taxes and such when you order from JC Penney and it gets shipped across the border? I'm such a US shopping novice. :misss: |

I am not sure if anyone has heard of slickdeals.net I love their site. They always have great deals and some of the stores ship to Canada. Right now Land's End is having a sale and so is Aeropostale they both ship to Canada. |

I've order from eoutlet4u.com a couple of times and gotten some great deals. Its all brand name kids clothes for awesome prices... shipping is usually pretty reasonable too. I ordered a christening gown for Kennedy a couple of months ago and had it shipped here for about $45.00 total -- the same one was on EBAY for $95... I thought that was great... I'm also a huge ebayer - just make sure you contact the seller about shipping and rates,,, and you can ask for them to gift it... sometimes you get lucky and can avoid customs that way. |
