We just came back from a photo session at Sears for my 2 1/2 DS. It was BY FAR the greatest experience we have ever had getting his pictures done and the photographer just rocked! We have tried several places around town - Wal-Mart, Dominion - and they just don't work well for my son, as he is a very active little toddler who needs to be fully engaged. We actually left Wal-Mart without any pictures at all last time <_< The photograper ( Jackie btw) had a ton of suggestions for creative poses, backgrounds and props, not to mention a great deal of patience :D . It ended up being a little more expensive than our usual places, but well worth every penny!

Just thought I would let some other Mom's know who may be looking for something a little different

I totally agree. First pictures I went to Walmart. After that we tried Sears and now always go to Sears. They are great and very patient. I was totally impressed that they even allowed us time to change her outfits to suit different backgounds in the one session. They did try to up sell you on some of their preformatted packages and layouts, but if you're not interested they don't get snotty (is that even a word anybody not from around the bay knows? lol)
To sum up - I think they are as good as it gets around here.

I've always bought the smilesave card from Sears and have gotten pics done there - when we got back to NL everyone raved about Dominion. The kids pics turned out okay but I still prefer Sears.

thanx for the info on sears. I was hesitant to go there but after having 2 really horrible experiences at dominion I would really love to get his 1 year pics taken at sears.
I willl give them a try.

I had a bad experience at Sears this xmas. The lady was so sloooow. I have 2 toddlers with no patience!! She just had them stand next to each other! My parents said they looked like soldiers standing at attention.

I've taken them to Dominion on Stavanger and they turned out great both times! We were in and out of there in no time and I love how you get the pictures the next day. They were also reasonably priced.

I had a bad experience at Wal-Mart on Stavanger. The 1st pose you accept is suppose to be your package pose. Well, the girl apparently didn't push the button right so the pose I wanted was lost. I ended up getting my portraits free. I wouldn't go back there, though.

We had a horrible experience at Dominion in Mount Pearl. They lost Rylee's birthday/christmas pictures, so we retook them. When we went to pick up the second set, we got the first lot of pictures. The worse of it was we wanted all the pictures, but they tried to charge us for the first lot  But in the end they give them to us for free. All the pictures we got only cost us $6.

I always thought the Mount Pearl Dominion was the only one that had a portrait studio :o The prices are great and it's nice to get them back right away so maybe I will have to give those other locations a shot!!

We've used Mt Pearl Dominion a few times and were pleased. Blackmarsh road totally screwed up our appointment and didn't understand that we couldn't just come bask 4 hours later - with a 5 week old baby!!

We have also used Dominion in Moncton - they did have a larger selection of backgrounds then in Mt Pearl.

We did Walmart here in Corner Brook - I don't understand why it takes them 3 weeks to develop the pictures - where do they send them??

I love Sears as well. We had Noah's 2 year pictures done there Monday. I really don't like wal-mart and the fact that you have to choose your package pose before they will save a picture. I had our family pics done at dominon and thought they did a great job. My only think about there is that they only have 1 background. I didn't want all my pictures white. I bought the smile savers card when I had his Christmas pics done. Well worth the money.

My kids are due for some pics too. I haven't had them professionally done since Brennan was 7 mos and he'll be three in a couple of weeks, so we have none with the twins. I'm sure whoever is taking them will be on some type of medication when we walk in there with the five of them!!LOL I think we are going to try Dominion on Stavanger this time. I've heard alot of good things about that one!
