So I'm not sure how well this will work, probably just a simplified guided story set in medieval fantasy. Sorry if it doesn't turn out.

The land has been steadily becoming a savage wilderness as the peoples power becomes less and less. The nature spirits have become restless and less willing to submit to control. Now only those of true power can master the spirits. People have forgotten how to live in harmony and are suffering as the animals react poorly to the situation. There is hope as a small band of adventurers come together to find the lost scrolls of knowledge. The hope is that in studying these scrolls, the people can relearn all the lost knowledge that their ancestors knew so well and bring an end to these uncertain times.

Yes, although I'd stay away from the part aquatic, it'd probably be a bit difficult.

I don't know anything about D&D, so probably not a good idea, lol.

Can I be a werewolf?

it doesn't have to be true d&d, just a fantasy story...which this is probably going to turn into

as for the werewolf...well that would be interesting, although it would work better if we just throw the d&d half out the window.

Yeah - actual D&D is a pretty finicky system. Probably impossible to run over a forum, given the level of interaction needed for all the die rolls.

Just run with whatever you think works, I don't think any of us are going to complain.

^ Agreed :)
Lets do this

Name: Torild Eide

Age: Unknown - very old

Race: Human? She doesn't clearly remember.

Class: Witch

Weapon of choice: Wields a broom like Gabrielle from Xena handles her stick

Mount: Prefers to walk alongside her cantankerous but ever faithful elderly, slightly smelly pack mule

Personality: Hard to tell, the story needs to unfold. I think she is a fairly grumpy, secretive sort, as witches tend to be. She suffers from an early stage dementia, but is unexpectedly wise and learned - hinting at a once commanding and very entertaining personality.

History/backstory: Very little is known. Torild doesn't talk a great deal. She mutters to herself, but this is most often non-nonsensical. One gets the impression of a woman who is long used to keeping secrets, so much so it is an almost pathological habit. A lot is bottled up beneath the old girls fragile, wrinkled skin. A part of her is aware she is no longer what she was, at times she breaks down because she fears she is naught but a burden to those that surround her at any given time. She can express paranoia or other intangible fears, one gets the impression this is new to her personality, brought on by a long, brave and dangerous life now scrambled by the disease that disorders what was once likely to have been a sharp and orderly mind. For all her faults, she is easy to love, something about the unexpected wisdom and the glimpses of a stillness within. And, one should be careful after all, she says she is a witch. No-one that knows her today recalls seeing any spells....yet.

This is what I've got so far.

Name: Caliban Canivar
Age: 28
Race: Werewolf
Class: Ranger. A member of the Rangers of Winter, who patrol the north. (The Rangers of Autumn patrol the west, Rangers of Summer in the south, and Rangers of Spring out east.)
Weapon of Choice: Sword and parrying dagger. (Carries a bow used mainly for hunting.)
Personality: Somber but compassionate, particularly towards fellow outcasts. Plagued by lifelong shame, fear that he may be a monster, and need for redemption. Wishes to prove himself with selfless service. He seeks purpose, and somewhere to belong.
