Time for a heads up for your nation's alpinists:

You must be Anxious to start your adventure into the Wilderness, enjoying the scenery of snowy mountains and endless fjords...

The Map Bellow, while very small, gives you a glimpse into the Area & several landmarks both nature and man made such as The Steam Pools, The Echo Mountains, Ice Desert, Dov Fort etc

Posted Image

Posted Image

In order to reach Brosh Peak - your final destination (which is marked by a Triangle at the top of your map), your team will have to travel 310 Km which estimated at 3 weeks in normal pace.

While the weather around this time of the year is calm, you can still expect blizzards and heavy snow.

Which is why the hosts are urging you to prepare ahead to all sorts of wild and unexpected events (We wouldn't leave out Holy water ....)

Some Ground Rules:

All Teams will start their Expeditions from Ayala Port City on the 2nd of March !!!

Official Reports of Teams progress will be posted by the hosts every 4 days
while You - The Team Delegates will be able to share your experience and stories in between.

The Map is meant to give you some proportion of the area size and how to plan your path, although a str8 line doesn't mean a win, especially with all the Monst... lurking around...

The Landmarks on the map are just a small portion of the 40+ places, still to be discovered by your expedition !!

The type of stories can be anything from problems your teams have encountered, horror stories or misshapes....

You can post breathtaking images of your teams, funny events or a simple progress ( a day in the life of .... ) etc.

<span style='font-size:22pt;line-height:100%'>
!! Have Fun !!
&
Don't forget this expedition is another venue for your nation to shine

A highlight worth highlighting, brought to us by Stormaenian athlete Angelica Beck:

Herzil

Another Superb Performance was seen by Angelica Beck from Stormaen who was able to finish the 75 gates run at 1:19 minutes and with 0 miss !!!

While keeping her legs and skis parallel she was able to move effectively engaging the inside ski the turning phase due to the increase edge angle.

Posted Image

It is interesting to note that unlike the other competitors she gave powered more hip angulation which resulted in a much sharper turns which left little place for errors - luckily she had none.

Not yet, but I do have some 'hot off the press' news to share, which may incite scandal and protest from some parts of Canada:

One Judge only scores Ski Jump Event

Today’s first round of the Ski Jump event saw ONE judge only scoring the event, Judge Pomtuk Binoculars.

The series of unfortunate events leading to this sorry state are indicated as follows in the official reports:
Herzil

We did notice however an absence at the Judges table, it seems 2 judges: Judge Dagny Morozova and Judge Eye of Barad-Snow - received a warning after trying to take over the Microphone in the early morning and were sent to cool off at the Chocolate Spa.

Then Judge Mortimer G Hornsnapple III tried during lunch to take a female orc from Malkir delegation – in a drinking context and was hammered down literally after calling his opponent
A beautiful delicate flower – we assume he was intoxicated by then….

Officials from Devil Heart report they are happy with the results, finding Judge Pomtuk Binoculars. fair and unbiased.

Herzil

A Devastating first jump was seen by Topher McGregor from Stormaen.
McGregor for some unknown reason had a problem keeping his legs paralleled during the In-run and 20 meters before the jump he lost his balance and fell.

Posted Image

Unfortunately this event sent him to the ER with mild hip fraction....

..........

A rather surprise was seen by Granny Frost from Devil Heart.

Frost had a rather average distance at the her first jump, gaining just 91 meters.
Her 2nd jump on the other hand was simply mesmerizing.
First of all she decided to change cloth in between jumps, and dressed a rather fashionable Mardi Gra Witch Costume which can be seen bellow....

Posted Image

Her pointy hat was rather useful during her In-run as it cut off wind, Her jump and flying was Magical.
She managed to reach 113 meters in distance and was the first jumper to receive a perfect 20 /20 points in Style.

Matilda Love extends her condolences to Chief Minister Dean Emerson of Stormaen, some say a little smugly.

Anthony Stark of ParrrrTay wins silver for Canada :fireworks:

Herzil

Anthony Stark from ParrrrTay was another surprise, while his first jump was less than average, in distance -  103meters his style landed him a nice 18 points.

The surprise came in his second jump when he managed to maintain a perfect position during taking off and flying even though he was struck by gushing south west wind.
He gained 118 meters and while his initial style landed him 15 points, he received 5 more points due to the wind factor landing him a perfect 20 in style.

His two jumps resulted in 259 points in total and landed him The Silver Medal

The Skeleton Event

A dull day was had by all at this event.
A book club was set up at the Observers seat, reportedly well attended with fascinating insights and heated discussion.
Judge Mortimer G Hornsnapple III spent most of his time over at the Frozen Tiki bar.

A report direct from Wysteria on the Alpinism Event:
Herzil

Alpinism Report

It’s the 5th day of the Alpinism Expedition with most, and we repeat most teams already passed 1/4 of the distance.

It seems some expeditions decided to wait a bit longer in the surrounding of Ayala port and by the time they were ready to exit the mountains, a blizzard prevented it.

Reportedly, several rocks collapsed on the mountains gate path blocking the exit or entrance to the city via foot.

Progress:

Once out, the teams split all over the map, while some decided to follow the monorail route leading from Ayala Port to Haon Resort, such as
"The elite of frostmoths scout class" from The Changeling Horde,  "The Mountain Goblins" from Kuknos or "The Wizards" from Ananke…

Others, such as " Paseo del Sanchi " from Almonaster, chose to enjoy the sea side of the area, traveling south east forward Almog Port
with what we assume will be their start city – exiting with a str8 line to Brosh Peak.

It seems 3 teams decided to climb the mountains to the west and beside one - "Maapylim La Pisga" from The Three Moons – the rest were not seen since.

We are still a bit concern over "The Frost Giants" from Devil Heart, ever since their exiting the city they were not seen which is a Mystery to us – as how can one misplace a 10 meter Giant.

In addition to those in Texas who were concern over the whereabouts of "Hans & Franz, The Sausage Kings",
well a smoke was seen early today near the village lake to south west of the map,
unfortunately we can not confirm that they were making breakfast or were the breakfast of the Cannibals living in that village.

Now to a bit of Warnings:

In the next few days we expect to have gushing winds going from 30-80kmh and even higher near the hills and mountains.

Teams will be able to find safe spots near the sea (either west or east) and inside the Un-Named
Forest (his name is actually "unnamed").

In addition,  we expect an Ice Tornado on Monday, but only in the lower parts of the map
So those who are planning for unknown reasons to maintain their position and not continue to Haon area or its equivalent, will not be protected

Next Report is scheduled for Tuesday Morning

For individual reports from the actual teams, visit the event at this link:

The Ice Hockey is in full swing, the first round saw Almonaster Nuevo's Farben Focus team make in into the second rounds, but not unfortunately into the third.

We are yet to see how the land, ParrrrTay and Stormaen's teams will fair.

The Alpinist event finds the Nuevan team taking a safer route:
Almonaster

The Nuevan contingent trek on, passing as planned somewhat to the East of the Eis shrine, aiming eventually to tackle the final ascent of Brosh Peak by the East face, rather than the obvious but potentially treacherous approach from the South.

While the Devimanians have come to a dead halt in their underground foray below the Echo Mountains.

Don, a crack shot, doubled our food supply for us prior to our descending into The Devil's Leer, but it won't last forever.

Boo has been sneaking up on Njord to get him moving, but the man remains calm.

Bruce is offering to carry him....well, we can't leave him here? Can we?

Everyone turns to look at me for advice.

we haven't heard from the Wild Mustanges, ParrrrTay nor the Stormaen teams, one presumes they are progressing steadily. :cananim:

Wild Mustangs
the land

Despite the slight mishap the team had earlier they continued on their course to Eis shrine. They were going over Shrik pass, not trusting that the unmapped caves would stay large enough to let the horses pass and that the caves wouldn't just make the trip longer. Once they reached the shrine the group had decided to head towards Raz gate and skirt the steam pools then head straight to bosh peak

Further Information (including an up to date map) of weird team behaviours and mishaps can be found here:
http://z1.invisionfree.com/Wysterian_Forum...post&p=22004666

Here are the Candian team highlights:
Herzil

The Frost Giant from Devil Heart have landed at the Steam Pools Village resort and were seen at noon today splashing in the hot waters.

We were able to get this photo of one of the Frost Giant team members enjoying the hot pools near a group of Apes.

Posted Image
Luckily our scout on the site was an Ape Linguistic and he was able to understand and hear one of the ape asking: "Is she still naked? She makes me uncomfortable"

Herzil

Equine Extreme from Wild Mustangs were in a bit of troubles when they arrived to an area that was effected by an Avalanche the day before.

While crossing the area, one of their team mates all of the sudden started to sink....

We have not heard from three nations’ teams, Stormaen, ParrrTay and Almonaster Nuevo, we presume no news is good news.

To catch up on the outcomes at the Ice Hocky Events, check here:

Results so far from Speed Skating
Almonaster Nuevo’s Gogoko Gonzales, ParrrrTay’s Emma Friesen and Stormaen’s Eden Denman have made it into the second rounds.

It seems we are down to one judge only again!

Fairlea Godmother really bombed:
Herzil

Fairlea Godmother from Devil Heart has graced us with A Rather disappointing performance
when she failed to maintain a no weight on the extended leg.
This reckless technique cost her to lose ice grip and fall falt out

Posted Image

which can explained by the 8:05:49 minutes time score she received.

Of course it can also be due to her advance age of 81 but we rather not judge people base on age.

While Deden Denman from Stormaen shone:
Herzil

Here we can see Eden Denman from Stormaen with his lovely Chic La Freak Red outfit that really emphasis his Liberal Canadian spirit.

Posted Image

Denman with his long long legs and simple Sternum facing down, nice rounded upper and lower back was able to gain a good 6:26:57 minutes score which qualified him to the next round.

There were further second round events (I don’t understand why but the more sporting types might be able to clarify for us) and here are those results:

Herzil

Gogoko Gonzales from Almonaster Nuevo was able to reduce her 1st round score of
6:47:37 minutes to a great 6:06:52 minutes and held the 2nd best time score in the 2nd round.
[/Herzil]

And Eden Denman embarrased us all
Herzil

It was the final stop for Eden Denman from Stormaen. While starting his 3rd Km he was able – due to his esthetic perfection – to notice a small red string coming out of his very "shake your groove thing" outfit
. At first he done nothing but it seems to annoy him and half 200m before finishing the 3rd km, he decided to pull the string,
which caused him to loose balance and while falling he also took Dagvic from 9004.

Posted Image

Both of them received above 6:30 minutes and were disqualified.

While it is Almonaster Nuevo’s Gogoko Gonzales, ParrrrTay’s Emma Friesen that have made it into the third round

p.s. sorry for messing up the coding - hopefully it all makes sense anyway!

Gogoko Gonzales wins GOLD for Canada

Reports delayed by blizzard conditions never before experienced, but we are very proud to announce Gogoko Gonzales of Almonaster Nuevo has won gold for Canada in the Speed Skating event.

Read in detail here
http://z1.invisionfree.com/Wysterian_Forum...post&p=22004688

Proving there is no gain without pain, we have an image coming through now, it is indeed Gogoko Ganzales sliding into a very painful victory

Herzil

Last we have Gogoko Gonzales from Almonaster Nuevo.
A well known Dancer and Zumba Instructor who decided to use "The Flaming Crutch" a technique that uses the flexor and groin muscles.
This Technique while proven to give insane speed in a short time, has received over the years bad publicity.
Never the less she was able to finish the 5km at 6:02:46 minutes and landed The Gold Medal

This is a caption of her on the floor, several meters after she crossed the finish line - screaming from pain but happy:

Posted Image

And here at last is a copy of the final score sheet for this event:
Posted Image

The reports are now arriving from the Biathalon Event....

Oh dear, Canada has not done as well this time.
However ParrrrTay’s Avery Kocheev’s results are worth noting in the score sheet below.

** What a lovely day we had at Haon Ski Resort where 70 skiers took their best shot at the Biathlon **

The tournament was split into 3 batches in order to accommodate the number of athletes per mass start.

As one can see on the map that was distribute by the Judges

Posted Image

All Skiers were required to cross country through a trail of 14.5k which had 3 levels of difficulties:
A Mix of Surface Types and Angels percentages.

Posted Image

In addition every several Kilometers, Skiers were forced to stop and get down to business shooting 5 targets.

Every miss target was counted as A One minute penalty point and was eventually added to the Total time score.

Lets look at our results

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

Posted Image Posted Image

Devil Heart’s Poppy Tall was very disappointing for the nation:
Herzil

Poppy Tall from Devil Heart, had everything going for her. She did rather nice on the targets shooting, scoring 18/20 points and getting only 2 minutes penalty points. The only thing that wasn't in her favor was her OCD.

We were able to find this lovely caption of her Stopping before each shootout spot, taking out an-in-your-backpack-mini-broomstick and cleaning the mattress so she wont catch anything….

Posted Image

Judge Mortimer stated that Poppy cleaning habit prevented her from taking the gold.

Matilda Love tweeted that an athlete’s handicap should be handicapped so all can compete under fair rules. Poppy Tall could not be contacted, she is apparently devastated by the results and needed to clean her skis.

We have just received the results of the Curling event.
Nothing of great interest from our Canadian athletes to note in this event, but here is a link for those that like to keep up with all the results:
http://z1.invisionfree.com/Wysterian_Forum...ost&p=22004701’

Oh, and an interesting occurrence in the Observer’s Seat:
Herzil

A Rather weird ending we had for the Finals which ended several minutes ago

In the middle of the first match at the finals, a member from Star Trek delegation took out a Megaphone out of nowhere and started bad mouthing the teams competing

He was silent 10 seconds later and removed from the Observers Seats but not before
publishing his thoughts first…

Posted Image

Judge Mortimer stated It was interesting that Curling didn't bother him until his own team was kicked out from the competition on the first round for losing to Capthoria 4—6.

Finally, the most recent results are in, the
Herzil

**Well its been an exciting morning and noon, watching all these crazy kayakers competing on a surface they normally do not use, aka snow **

Posted Image

That Knut Braveheart from Devil Heart has proven a very odd disappointment to Canada in these games. Seems he just can’t stay away from the water.
Quote:

which resulted several minutes later in hypothermia & Disqualification.

And oh my goodness, this was an unexpected huge disappointment from Daniosa Koteji of Almonaster Nuevo

Here is the report now:
Herzil

Daniosa Koteji from Almonaster Nuevo was one of 4 kayakers to grace us with a perfect – flat ZERO – in Sharp turns.

As one could see in this video she recorded while sliding without control

Of course  Her boyfriend who was monitoring her progress with the other fans, during this fail down the hill attempt didn't hold back on his face expression….

We have not yet heard any comment from the nation of Almonaster Nuevo, we will let you know if there is any further news.

Canada did not excel in the Figure Skating in Pairs event, here are the final results:
Posted Image

The full story begins here:
http://z1.invisionfree.com/Wysterian_Forum...post&p=22004725

Isaac Newton & Ada Lovelace of Devil Heart put on a performance worth cringing for:
Herzil

A Bad performance was seen by Isaac Newton & Ada Lovelace from Devil Heart
The two had lots of doubled jumps and little landing errors.

During a 2.5 Axel she landed badly on the right foot and smashed her butt to the ice floor.
40 seconds later there was another accident when a reverse lift went badly wrong.

Her partner was upside down….that lasted for exactly 3 seconds before he slipped from her grip and landed on his head fractioning his neck.

While they did have a clever Choreography it wasn’t enough to save them from the bad score points of 110.

A last fascinating report from the Alpinist team expeditions can be found here:

caption of what seems to be a Yeti riding A huge Swan

They have spotted the creature at the lake just above Agra Village….

And It seems Paseo del Sanchi from Almonaster Nuevo expedition actually encountered
