Waiting for the night to fall

Yeah, but it's like nobody wants to stick their neck out until the last minute for fear of reprisal. We've wasted a day and a half with little discussion. As for myself, I had some theories (concerning Al, LC, et al) that I came up with at the end of night 1. I was hoping to have a bit more voting info today to go on to see how those theories held up, but alas, only Al (of my suspects) voted thus far. His vote for you could be another attempt to take out one of our better players. |

Did you check the rules? Barry is enforcing voting after the first day, so I don't have to. My reason for picking Klop was so slender I wasn't about to post it for analysis. I'll freely admit I have no idea at this point. Both The Land and Aerso seem to be clutching at straws, too. |

To be fair Al, I voted for you to save myself in addition to my suspicions of your voting. I'm a bit more convinced that we should look at LC or Hahiha first, the numbers just aren't there for them at the moment |

Archeologists can be a strange lot. One minute they may be agreeing upon the multifaceted uses and daily benefits to be gleaned from ingesting certain rather unique foods, and the next they can be at each other’s throats over responsibility for the unappetizing culinary demise of a revered colleague. Such was the case with our passive-aggressive band of adventurers. Upon returning to the plane, they all seemed quite content to chat idly about certain differences in U.K. and Australian cuisine. Until that is, one discovered the following note sitting on Almonaster’s seat, next to a jar of Marmite. ![]() That’s when all Hades broke loose. The group’s realization that The Guardians were amongst them led to one allegation after another. When all was said and done, however, they accused Almonaster of not only bringing nearly inedible Marmite on board, but of being a member of the dastardly Guardians to boot! They then forced Almonaster to “taste test” The Guardians’ Valentine’s Day gift. Needless to say, he died instantly. Unfortunately, a feverish check of his wallet showed the Dean of The Bob Ford Center for The Preservation of Ancient Hallucinatory Drugs, Almonaster to be an Archeologist. :ph43r: :ph43r: :ph43r: The Night phase has begun. It will end 24 hours from now. Indy, Security Officers, and Guardians, please message me with your fateful decisions. |

Lordy I am not paying enough attention - a day slipped by and I am here to vote now - but too late! I do want to say however that Al seems frequently employ these patterns when he lynch votes. Admittedly I haven't played that many of these games though. And apparently Almonaster was indeed an innocent (well, of some things) archeologist. Aerso, it was you who cast these aspersions on an innocent archeologist, and look what happened. I reckon I will be voting to lynch Aerso. However, I am going to wait the night period to see what happens. If I die this time, I would suggest folk look hard at Aerso - he could well be a one of these guardians we are seeking to eliminate. |

True. Al seems to like poking people with a stick.
That's not bad advice . . . but I'm not as certain. Aerso posted a lot of good stuff today (though it was after people noted he'd been quiet). That put my mind at ease. And we seem to be on the same page in looking at the islanders. Had it been necessary, I would probably have changed my vote to spare him. |

I did state point blank that I'd rather lynch LC, but neither Klop nor Al followed that by changing their votes and a lot of you didn't vote at all. |

I would have if the two of you had. I couldn't do it first or I'd have run the risk of being the one lynched. |

I think Aerso either 1) has a point about some of the Guardians being XKIers or 2) is a Guardian himself and trying to throw us off his scent by suggesting other XKI players... This game turns you against everyone! So, Aerso, who would you recommend we lynch?

Sleep was not possible for the group that night. Instead, they feverishly chattered over who among them was responsible for so many deaths so early into their quest. “We can’t stay with the plane any longer. We must get out and move!” one implored the others. “Yeah,” another agreed. “We’re sitting ducks here. The moon is bright. Let’s go.” So they left the plane behind, trudged up the moonlit beach and wandered for what seemed like hours along the perimeter of a large inland wooded area. Suddenly, Indiana Jones stumbled over a rectangular stone with strange, undecipherable markings on it. ![]() “Hey,” Indy shouted. “I’ve seen this in movie newsreels – you know, the fillers they show between cartoons before the B-movie starts?... Anyway,” he paused. “I know where we are.” “Where?” one asked doubtfully, wiping some remnants of his half-eaten bacon poutine sandwich from his chin. Indiana laughed as the morning sun broke over the ocean horizon, only to find everyone still alive. “New Scotland, my friend….“God Save The Queen, we’re in Nova Scotia!” And with that revelation, Day 3 has begun. It will end 48 hours from now. Good luck. WARNING: Mark, you must post this phase or face an inactivity lynch. |

First good news we've had so far.
I've never played a game with an inactivity lynch. Does it mean that if Mark doesn't post, then he's automatically today's lynch? |

Good news indeed. However, we still have three Guardians among us. While I'm flattered by Aerso's suspicions of me, bandwagoning is still very much my play style, as he well knows from the two WW games we've been in together at XKI. I wasn't a wolf in either of those games, so using my play style from them as evidence of my being a Guardian in this game doesn't make sense. It seems more likely to me that he just wants to avoid upsetting his Canadian friends here by whittling down the number of XKI players. The Guardians themselves seem to be doing the same thing, which would help keep other Islanders from identifying them. On that basis, then... Vote: Lynch Aersoldorf |

I still suspect Aersoldorf. Please excuse the length of this post, but I've spent some time reading through the thread and want to be thorough. Hopefully it's organized to be more readable. I. Aersoldorf Has Changed Tactics His vote to lynch Al was the decisive vote last day phase. Note what he said:
While this didn't bother me at the time, I've since recalled something Aersoldorf said last game. Here it is, it's quite different:
This is a big shift. While Aerso could be mixing things up, the more obvious conclusion is that he has a power role. But which one? I'm going to guess he's a wolf. II. Aersoldorf May be Muddying the Waters Ater Nox's death turned my attention to the TKIers. That still makes sense. I mentioned then:
Then Aerso followed suit the next day
The same thing happened in reviewing potential suspects. Note that every one of his suspects differs from mine:
This also broadened the list to include every remaining TKIer. That might look helpful . . . but it really isn't. How can we narrow in on TKI suspects if we suspect every TKIer? He may have been trying to throw us off the trail. III. Many People Suspect Aersoldorf I've found that listening to what everyone else is saying matters. Canadians know each other better than I ever will, and the same is true among TKIers. Also, no one catches everything or sees things the same way. So it matters to me when a lot of people from both regions suspect Aerso:
Conclusion Aersoldorf barely scraped through the last day phase. He's been far more vocal since then, and pretty much immediately began pointing the finger at LC. That's a noticeable shift, and it's been my experience that wolves can drastically shift their gameplay once publicly suspected. Ayuni did it here in game 2 and Lousistan did it last game in TKI. *** So, my vote remains the same. Vote: Lynch Aersoldorf That said, I'll listen to what he may have to say. |
