The position is officially non-partisan in nature and has a term of 2-3 years, with unlimited terms. When election day arrives, the populace votes for the candidate, with the Armed Forces also voting in a separate vote. This is unique in means that if an eligible voter votes with the populace, and is also a member of an Armed Forces branch, the voter is eligible to vote twice.

The position is officially non-partisan in nature and has a term of 2-3 years, unlimited terms. The Consul is equal to the other Consul, but cannot conflict, unless described by the Constitution. The President also acts as Speaker of the Senate, and may only vote in order of a tie. The President may also initiate motions or bills, on behalf of the Consul(s) in the event a Consul is unable to in the Senate chamber.

Current office holder: Thomas David McLaughlin

The Prime Minister of Cromwell is the official head of government in the Parliamentary Senate and is by virtue, the leader of the party with the most seats in the Parliamentary Senate as per the Cromwell Constitution. In the event the Parliamentary Senate is a Minority Parliament, the Consuls and President will choose the leader of a party who can hold the confidence of the government in the Parliamentary Senate.

The Prime Minister is accountable to the constitution and is sworn in by both Consuls of Cromwell.
The Prime Minister has a term between 3-4 years, by virtue of a defeated government (lost confidence) or by fix election dates of 4 years. The position is partisan in nature and is responsible for the day-to-day ongoings of the government. The Parliamentary Senate is responsible for domestic and international affairs, in conjunction with the Consuls (Prima facie - executive - Consuls) by virtue of the Cromwell Constitution.
Chancellorship Dissolved and Cromwell-Hilliard re-establishment

The role of Chancellor (The Chancellery Office) was dissolved upon the creation of the Unified Cromwell Republic Constitution: May 24, 2014 when Cromwell Protectorate and the Kingdom of Hilliard dissolved and re-established under the Cromwell standard.

On May 24, 2014, the role was split into two positions of Consul. One Consul in charge of the Government and Executive within the Parliamentary Senate (Legislature) Executive (CMO), while the other Consul (CMO-A) is in charge of ALP in charge of defence and international affairs (apart from Nation States.) In the event only one Consul is active in his/her duties, the Consul will assume both roles, not exceeding 12 months. In the event neither Consul is active, or out of the Nation, an appointed Proconsul by the Senate will assume caretaker, sworn in by the Chief Justice, not exceeding 12 months. The Consuls are the leader(s) of the party(ies) who hold the majority of the Parliamentary Senate - either leader of the majority and the deputy leader, or the leaders of more than one party in a unified coalition government. The Speaker of the Senate will formally approve the leadership in accordance with the Constitution.
Provinces & Territories:
Cromwell is a federation composed of five provinces (inc. 1 Capital District) and three territories. Provinces have more autonomy than territories, having responsibility for social programs such as health care, education, and welfare. Together, the provinces collect more revenue than the federal government, an almost unique structure among federations in the world.

Provinces and Territories are within assigned Regions, in which representatives are appointed by the Senate and are considered non-partisan (however, members who are appointed, may be partisan and hold roles within the Senate.)

Using its spending powers, the federal government can initiate national policies in provincial areas, such as the Cromwell Health Act; the provinces can opt out of these, but rarely do so in practice. Equalization payments are made by the federal government to ensure that reasonably uniform standards of services and taxation are kept between the richer and poorer provinces.

Upon the creation of the Constitution Act, 2014(United Republic of Cromwell establishment), provinces from the former Cromwell and Kingdom of Hilliard, were re-aligned and either merged, remained the same or were dissolved.

Capital District
The Capital District of Fort McMurray is a semi-autonomous state from traditional provincial powers. Fort McMurray is the capital of all of Cromwell.
The name Province of Fort McMurray was changed in March 2013 when the Federal Government bestowyed "city state" powers to the province.
The Province of Wood Buffalo surrounds the Capital District, and for census purposes, both are combined.
