The regional population of Wysteria swelled significantly as visitors poured in for the opening ceremony. The small team from Canada was significantly outnumbered by the contingents from Texas, Yggdrasil, 10000 Islands and Wysteria itself. A cheerful, almost riotous spirit prevailed, as all were cheered through the streets. The games kicked off with the swordsmanship contest. The official commentator had this to say about the Canadian entrants...
Manzana then lost a close but unexciting match-up in the quarter-final to Sergey Peruzović of Byzesion. Final results were Gold (Jantis Bond - Mutantia, 10000 Islands) Silver (Duncan Idaho - Woonsocket, 10000 Islands) Bronze (Vaculatestar, Texas) Medal Table 10000 Islands : 1,1,0 Texas : 0,0,1 To follow all the action, check the Official Results Channel |

Magnificent play from Toshio Demanzana Almonaster, congratulations! *pours mead bubbly* *dispatches a medical team to bandage 'Whipped' head to toe, along with a note of thanks for her sportsmanship and a diet plan* then scampers off to visit the arts complex. |

Today's action came in the archery contest, where Devil Heart was expected to do well. There were a number of incidents in the early rounds, including..
Needless to say, she did not advance. Ariel Stormwalker of Wilde Mustanges did well on the first round, but was eliminated in the second. Carwen Fairchild of Devil Heart made it through the preliminary rounds to reach the shoot out. She scored a creditable 3 bulls-eyes, but the 3 medallists each scored 5. After a final match to resolve the ie, the results were... Gold : Vaculatestar (Texas) Silver : Vrolondia (Yggdrasil) Bronze : Barrarabia (10000 Islands) Medal Table 10000 Islands : 1,1,1 Texas : 1,0,1 Yggdrasil : 0,1,0 |

Such a shame about those arrows Maria bought - someone sold her something dodgy I reckon, she is a brilliant shot and her eyesight is renowned across the gaming world. Congrats to the land's wonderful Ariel - no surprises there that she got through so very well on the first round. Actually I expected her to take out gold for us. However, on reading over the notes on Ariel's life recorded here by the land, Ariel does have many more pressing matters on her mind right now than a simple game of point and shoot. ....oh, and I realise Idunn and Carwen are peas in a pod, easy to mix them up, but I believe it was Idunn Apples that managed by some fluke to make it through to the third round |

In the Jousting tournament today, both Almonaster Nuevo and Devil heart successfully negotiated the first round. (Wild Mustanges had understandably declined to enter.) In the second round, Almonaster Nuevo lost out to Holy Smokers. Devil Heart progressed after an interesting match...
Canadian revenge against Holy Smokers came in the next round...
Unfortunately, Canadian hopes were dashed in the final...

We would more object because it is closer to preparing for battle, If you follow the same types of rules as for the cross regional games, the horse is at little risk and for it it's similar to a race. |

Today's event was spear throwing. While all of the Canadian entrants gave creditable performances, none reached the final. Migel Shiniba of Almonaster Nuevo went out on the second round, while Emilia Love and Tim Fuller (of Devil Heart and Wild Mustanges respectively) both lost out in the third. The team from 10000 Islands were in blistering form, further extending their lead in the medal table. Results Gold : Artemis Aeginea (Ananke II, 10000 Islands) Silver : Andrew Ustik ( Frostevilla, Wysteria) Silver : Sir Francis Jujtuk (Duckyian Empire, 10000 Islands) Bronze Britney Spears (Woonsocket, 10000 Islands) Medal Table 10000 Islands (4,3,5) Yggdrasil (1,2,0) Texas (1,1,2) Canada (1,0,1) Wysteria (0,3,1) |

In the archery (distance) competition, Canadian expectations were focused on Carl Walker of Wild Mustanges. True to form, he made it through both preliminary rounds, but seemed a little tired was not at his best in the final. Carwen Fairchild of Devil Heart, on the other hand, had saved her strength and made a very creditable 6th place. Kiujin Garsia of Almonaster Nuevo had a bad day, and stomped off in disgust, having failed to meet this unexpectedly imposed minimum distance in the first round. Results Gold : Alyssa Green(Dendor, 10000 Islands) - GR Silver : Clarisa Fergen (Herzil, Wysteria) Bronze : (Amandil, Texas) Medal Table 10000 Islands (5,3,5) Yggdrasil (1,2,0) Texas (1,1,3) Canada (1,0,1) Wysteria (0,4,1) |

In the swimming, Canada was not highly ranked, and the results bore this out. Julie Summers of Wild Mustanges was one of 12 who did not finish the gruelling course. Leviathan Swoon and Sami Nageru were in among the main pack, 10-15 minutes behind the leader. Results Gold : Maya Buttreeks (Free guns for all, 10000 Islands) - GR Silver: Nina Li (Ater Nox, 10000 Islands) Bronze : Dr Leonard McCoy (StarTrek, Texas) Medal Table 10000 Islands (6,4,5) Yggdrasil (1,2,0) Texas (1,1,4) Canada (1,0,1) Wysteria (0,4,1) |
