Greetings all,
Not new to the game, but haven't played in a while. I played in the days when there was a nation called Sugar Bear, anyone remember him? He was involved a lot in the writing of several laws.

Anyway, hi everyone!

Couldn't remember if he was for sure, he was a decent guy though- like most of the NS universe :D

Thanks for the welcome, this forum looks great :)

It was, and then like the whole of NS inactivity came about and a few good members died off. Now it's starting to turn a corner again though. We have a WA resolution that we are going to try and get the General Assembly to vote on. It's called, "Protect Cultural Sites" written by a nation called Wilkosaurous rex, so if anyone is a delegate or knows one that would be great if you could support it please :P

Ah, well inactivity seems to be plaguing this game even now. I'm quite new to Canada, and it seemed to be much more active in the past, I'm hoping it will be once more, although admittedly I'm quite busy in real life myself too.

I rejoin just as everyone is so busy

I sometimes wonder if offsite forums contributed to the decline in NS activity because the game developed so much depth, it kept evolving.

I still hope one day there will be another attempt at NationStates 2 (I know this is just a dream though!)

It's a shame the game didn't have built-in customisable forums at the beginning. The off-site forums are great, and each have a community of their own, but it makes the whole thing rather fragmented. It's very difficult for regions to differentiate themselves and get noticed.

The main NS forum is just too busy to be useful. You have to spend several hours a day there to keep up with the discussions, and so many things just get lost in the noise.

If I were making NS3 I'd actually make it more difficult to set up new regions. A smaller number of larger, active regions would keep the level of interaction up.

Also...

Actually... I might make this a new topic.

Loving the ideas though, someone should kickstarter it!

I wish I could...but it won't allow me to post there, I don't have the permission :-(

I'd really love to too! The mini ingame forums sound fantastic :D

That's mainly because you haven't responded to the validation E-Mail sent out by the board. Until you do, your access will be limited.

If you can't find it, there is a 're-send validation E-Mail' option. Best check your spam filters first, though.
