I have some suspicion of Michael Ignatieff. While I admire his intellectual character, his politics (especially his apporach to foreign affairs) are too far to the right for me to feel comfortable.

Some of the Brits around here might remember him from the Channel 4 series Voices or BBC2's Thinking Aloud.

In spite of this, Ignatieff has it right when it comes to Canadian sensibilities and approaches to group rights. He understands social inequality and the importance of understanding Canada as a multi-ethnic state.

I doubt he will sway me to vote Liberal anytime soon though. I'm sticking with the NDP.
