The Royal Navy was the largest in the world until World War II. Even to date, the US Navy (the new largest) is still dwarfed by the sheer size of the Royal Navy when it was at its peak. Today the Royal Navy is the second largest navy in the world and the furthest reaching. They operate from the North Sea, to the caribbean, to the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Even the US Navy doesn't reach that far today. Many of my ancestors have served in the Royal Navy. |

Sorry for double post.
I'm a British/Australian style conservative, which is nowhere near as bad as American conservatives Hell, even I would draw their blood in some instances American conservatives have often called the right-wing of Britain and Australia "liberal"

That's why I'm glad they're on the other side of the world. ![]() And Nio is right about Aussie/UK/American conservatives... although there are a few conservatives in Australia who view American conservatism as fantastic and try to emulate it (major political parties in Australia are more economically conservative now then they were twenty years ago, and some politicians are pandering to the evangelical Christian vote). :ph43r: |

the american navy is awesome we have loads of aircraft carriers, we have nuclear submarines, we have unmanned aerial vehicles and many other epic things. The Republican party of the united states or GOP was a new party whose candidate Abraham lincoln brought it to become a major force against the democrats who favored slavery and oppression. He helped to end the injustice and would help rebuild the south. |

It p*sses me off when you get British and (especially) Australian conservatives trying to emulate the American conservatives. As for the religion thing, Australia just isn't that religious and let us not forget that a quarter of Australians are Catholic and like 10% or Evangelicals, so they can get away with pandering to their wants. Lastly, all the parties in Australia are moving towards the same economic grounds, mark my words, unless a huge social issue comes up, Australia's elections will continue to be fought on the grounds of "who can run the country better?". |

not all american conservatives are religious evangelicals. We value freedom and we are completely mixed. Every single country has their own conservative and shouldn't try to copy another country's conservative format unless the people want it. |
