Updated map with full extent of nation,...

First drafts showing relief with elevations and major cities (naming cities is not yet completed) - yeah, they're big!

Elevations

City locations

Will be naming all cities down to 1 000 000 population and adding major port/airport/transport & military facilities.

Nice job, particularly the hydrography.

Do you use any specialist mapping software?

Photoshop but, the original is cut and paste from the NRC online national atlas with edits to the hydro and elevations (and a good amount of text removal & pixel cleanup.)

Hello everyone. You will probably deduce due to the absence of me existing before this post that I am in fact a new user. Since I don't really care about making an intro thread I'll put my first post here.

My first nation I made was Laurocadia so I made this map of it. It's based on reality but a lot of it is fictitious. St. Pierre et Miquelon is a lot closer to mainland and bigger. Sable Island is bigger. I edited coastline and island shapes. I added some islands and omitted others. The country borders are based on the country borders of New Brunswick and Maine. The counties I chose of new brunswick are the french speaking ones (the country is supposed to be french). The border with "The People's Republic of Kebec" roughly corresponds with the border of the boreal forest. All large cities are real cities with non-real populations. Roads are mostly real with small changes to fit the borders I made. Railway and Waterways are drawn arbitrarily. Some of the smaller cities are real, other's are made where transportation routes join. http://i.imgur.com/d9mKq.png
So, that's my first map.

My other two countries of Manicouagan Island and Quebecqois have less of a map but just some basic concept stuff so far.
Quebecqois' is just a St.Lawrence bordering country with a capital of Quebec. http://i.imgur.com/HoPsB.png Rough idea based on regional boundaries of the real Quebec province.
Manicouagan Island is obviously just Manicouagan Island. http://i.imgur.com/QFbFY.png The concept map is basically a stitched together google maps screenshot with labels, roads, and mainland removed. I also removed all border islands to except 13 to fit with the Nation's flag.

If it's not obvious from this unnecessarily long post, I have an obsession with flags and maps.

EDIT: After looking at the Manicouagan Island map again it appears there are 14 islands. I may need to remove one in the future. Also, what is this forum's policy on swearing?

Hi Laurocadia,

In :cananim: we like people with map obsessions. And thanks for the fantastic maps - looking forward to watching out for more of your mapping.

Swearing? We might swear allegiance to our political parties - I don't know 'cos I'm not in one. Probably most of us swear under our breath - but out loud text - no.

Have you got more flags to show us? :)

Laurocadia's is explained in this factbook: http://www.nationstates.net/nation=lauroca...ctbook/id=30431 Some older versions of the flag (http://imgur.com/a/gejnw and http://i.imgur.com/RlkO5.png) included the Metis infinity and the blue Franec uses in competition.
This is a the thumbnail of manicouagan island's from NationStates:http://www.nationstates.net/images/flags/uploads/manicouagan_island__583200.png
For Quebecqois I chose to just use Quebec city's actual flag because I love the design and symbolism.

Not necessarily fitting for a map thread but you asked for them.

Yes I did :D
And thank you - the flags are excellent.
I haven't seen them all yet as I will need to be on the computer for that but will go and have a look

I've just uploaded a map of West-Side that I made ages ago but never released. Can't remember what it was for, maybe an election RP. I seem to remember Nio being involved, but it didn't get anywhere.
Anyway, here it is: West-Side

Also if you click on One Time, it'll take you through to a map of the city districts.

Al and BT: - I've added links on to the main Canada map so clicking on your nations there takes you through to your maps posted above.

Also, if anyone else would like a copy of their nation from the main map, let me know.
I realise it's tricky to copy from in the browser because of the layers, but it's easy enough for me to copy a few layers out in Photoshop.
