Anyone ever heard of this? Sounds a little too good to be true...

Water injection has been around since I was in high school but what that web page is proposing is that you send them your $ and then they will ask "Was it good for you too dear?"

Public trans...port?! What the f**king hell is that?!?! Tell you what it is! Not for me! :eyebrow:

As for this idea of cars running on water, BBC News 24 had a whole 20 minute program on about it...at 3:40am...but still, I was impressed. If it wasn't so expensive and was practical, I'd definitely get this sorted for any car I owned! Would be nice and green. I reckon this technology will only become widely available after the death of oil however...

It will become widely available when market forces make it profitable to develop. Should the price of oil continue to skyrocket, it could happen sooner rather than later. Especially in Europe, where the cost of petroleum is far higher than in North America.

Me saving money by not driving, there's a train station nearby which takes the same time to get to work as driving does :) And the journey is picturesque alongside the Lea Valley canals :)

Water injection has been around since I was in high school

Correct, this has been around for YEARS !!

But ....
Stan Myers was poisoned and died in 1998 before releasing a motor that would run 100 miles per gallon of water after many threats from oil companies.
His prototypes were stolen.

Our easy conversion guide will show you how to use electricity from your car's battery to separate water into a gas called HHO (2 Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen). HHO, also called Brown's Gas or Hydroxy, burns smoothly and provides significant energy - while the end product is just H2O! HHO provides the atomic power of Hydrogen, while maintaining the stability of water.

Their process, if it worked, would break a fundamental law of physics.
Yes, you can split water into hydrogen and oxygen, and yes, you can then burn that mixture to form water again.
However, the maximum amount of energy you can possibly get from the burning is exactly the same as you used to split the water in the first place. There is no energy gain in changing water into water.
In reality you'd lose a significant amount of energy in heat.

The only way an engine could be powered by water is to split it into hydrogen and oxygen, then combine two hydrogen atoms to make helium.
That means nuclear fusion, and if these guys have developed a working fusion reactor I doubt they'd be selling the plans for $150.

Basically, it's a scam.

Water Injection is used for cooling, not power.

Basically, it's a scam.

Whilst I can't speak for the Product on Bweezy's commercial link DPL ....
.... the technology does work !

It involves Hydrolysis, or more accurately Electrolysis of water
(We've all, or most of us will have, performed Hydrolysis at school to produce hydrogen (Burns with a pop))

Well ...
Electrolysis is the decomposition of water into oxygen and hydrogen gas due to an electric current being passed through the water.
This electrolytic process is used in some industrial applications when hydrogen is needed ....

.... it can also power a car !!

As for the Fundamental (Conservation of Energy) principles of Physics ....
.... nobody is claiming that you get more energy out than you put in (which would break that law)

Water Powered cars DO work tho' ! - check out my links above.

Yes hydrolysis is perfectly valid, but you won't gain any energy by recombining the hydrogen and oxygen.

The articles you link to are claiming they can get more energy out than they put in.

All the energy has to be used up in splitting the water. There is no energy left to move the car.

Stanley Meyer was a fraud. [link]
I quote from the first paragraph:
Quote:

Thus, if the device operated as claimed, the combustion cycle would start and end in the same state while extracting usable energy, thereby violating both the first and second laws of thermodynamics, allowing operation as a perpetual motion machine. Meyer's claims about the Water Fuel Cell and the car that it powered were found to be fraudulent by an Ohio court in 1996

LOL! I only just saw this, have no idea how the hell I missed it first time round?!

Anyway, we do actually have a chauffer (and natch, he's South African) but he's back home in Australia and we only hired him because my dad wasn't well enough (at the time) to drive for himself. Now he's part time staff. My does actually have a Rolls too  a Rolls Phantom BMW or something or other. Nice ride though... but we had to have it shipped over from the the UK <_< which the Australian tax man was very happy about :eyebrow:

As for getting to uni - it's a 20 minute walk! My mate and I make it regardless of rain or shine, but I plan to have a car soon...maybe I'll still walk...maybe not...but no public transport, my OCD can't take it! :P

I read that Prince Charles managed to reduce his carbon foot print by 18%. Considering the size of his estates and all the travelling he does, that's pretty impressive!

Very recently the governing body of Amsterdam which is currently made up of Party of the Workers and GreenLeft coalition, knoecked back suggestions of installing these water filling facilities at gas stations. "Too expensive" they say. But they approved plans to close a port (which makes money) and replace it with free housing that will only be available to asylum seekers. I have no problem with asylum seekers but our homeless and poor could use the free housing and others could do with the work the poort brings in.

Thank God I live in seperate province!

Say what?! That's just crazy! A socialist-green government knocks back a green proposal that would set a trend for a nation if not a continent...in favour of cutting jobs and creating, what is in essence, a segregated community for foreigners...we had a name for that one in South Africa... :wall:

I get to uni by bus... 90 minutes there, 90 minutes back. Man, it's boring.

I remember when I first started coming to the UK for uni and I saw a Holden Corsa under the name "Vauxhall" I thought that was weird until I saw the crummy European name for 'em: "Opel" (How sh*t!)

I used to walk to high school too, it was 20 mins there, 20 mins back. Ah how I remember those days. My home is like 4 minutes from the beach and so we would sometimes take a long walk to school when it was really nice weather.

Btw, Omni, I didn't get what was funny
