Fun is the only noise you should hear
|
Ladies, Gentlemen and Others, I present to you a movie that has: a perfect cast - Ben Stiller, Wm H Macy, Janeane Garofalo, Wes Studi, Paul Reubens, Greg Kinnear, Geoffrey Rush, Hank Azaria, Kel Mitchell, and Tom Waits as the mad scientist. a perfect premise - What would happen if a group of people who pretend to be superheroes in their spare time actually had to save the world? a perfect blend of humor and action - Where to begin? A superhero called The Spleen who was cursed by a gypsy for blaming a fart on her and will forever be the One Who Dealt It. A superstar superhero who loses his product endorsements after the crime fighting market slows down. A doomsday machine. A Herkeimer battle jitney. perfect hero-villian smack talk - "We've got a blind date with Destiny - and it looks like she's ordered the lobster." a perfect soundtrack - Mark Mothersbaugh, The Trammps, tons of disco favorites, Myron Floren on the accordian, Violent Femmes, The B-52s and Michael Franti with Spearhead. |

Um, you would be under the category of gentlemen, correct? Let me know if your status has changed, and I'll change the greeting. Guess.

Me? Gentleman? Shirley you jest. You know me well enough to come up with an appropriate noun so I will leave it in your journalistic hands. Just remember I was the president of the JD sound board groupie fan club. My brain is too tired to guess so I Googled that cast so never mind.

No i don't care for ben stiller. Theres two rolls he plays the lovable clumsy guy (Theres something about Marry and Meet the Parents) and the psychotic guy (Happy Gilmore and Dodge Ball). Also i don't find him funny. |

Ben Stiller is one of those actors who you either love or you hate. Oh and he also looks like a monkey.

The one plot hole I had the most problem with is the invisible dude. Why did his clothes fall off? |

He didn't need the cape and outfit to be a superhero? He took them off, and they only showed the part where they were falling to the floor. Not sure - I know it made it funnier. |

I saw a trailer and thought it looked awesome. When I finally saw it I was disappointed. Maybe I built it up in my mind to be nothing short of utterly amazing and ended up feeling cheated because I raised my expectations too high. |

I don't think I ever saw a trailer for it. In fact, IIRC, I bought the DVD sight unseen based on a recommendation from a friend. Who can resist Tom Waits and a Herkeimer battle jitney? |
