Magneto is my favourite, I heard they're going to make an origins film of him which I hope they do. Three films I want to see: X-Men Origins: Wolverine Star Trek Transformers 2 |

I haven't checked but I think it is Wolverine, Magneto and the early years of the Academy. I'm not too fussed about Transformers II but Star Trek's trailer looks alright (though I do not like trailers which give away key plot moments...) |

I was a bit confused after seeing the coming attractions, is this movie a modern re-make of the Star Trek series? |

I went and saw XMen Origins at 00:01 Thursday morning and I don't regret it. It enjoyed it, but I have to disagree with Omni, it stuck to the comics pretty well....well, the old Marvels at least. ![]() 8/10 ...and I want to go see Star Trek too, but I hope they have it in IMAX.

I saw Star Trek yesterday and I am glad I did. It covers the time period from Capt Kirk's birth to his becoming captain of the Enterprise. The movie had just enough of the "silliness" from the original series to make it a totally fun experience. If you are a "Treki" this is a must see. There are a few discrepancies between this movie and the original series but I won't bring them up here as I do not want to give any of the plot away. I would be happy to discuss them with you elsewhere if you wish. Large refillable popcorn, large drink, large candy....$15. Good grief. |

Transporter 3 1/5 I was thinking about giving it -500, but, it's not that bad. It's just the Ukrainian girl is so grating. Robert Knepper was good though. |

It's pretty good. 7/10 EDIT: Underworld: Rise of the Lycans 7/10 Better than I expected actually. Good acting from Michael Sheen and Rhona Mitra. I think they made the love story work, or at least better than most action flicks manage to. Bill Nighy gave Victor more depth than before near the end. There were some weak points in the plot, and I still think the werewolves' heads look kinda weird. RocknRolla 4/5 |

Drag Me to Hell 6.5/10 Not as scary as I expected from Sam Raimi, and somewhat ridiculous in parts (if you've seen the movie, then you'll know what I'm talking about when I say: a) where'd the old hag get the brick?! and b) why does she have the Wile E. Coyote anvil setup in her shed?) Otherwise than that, it was decent, and had a few good jumps, as well as comic relief. But then again, I'm probably somewhat biased. The last movie I jumped at was Deep Blue Sea back in '99.

Star Trek 1/2 of fiveGreat casting and the right mix of humor, action, weird science and suprises. Terminator ![]() Can't believe it, but Chistian Bale=PHAIL. True to the story line, but adds very little to the overall Terminator series. Director what's-his-name sucks and is doing the next one as well. Not happy. Love the new guy as Marcus. Up 1/2Best movie of the year for me... so far. Pixar rules the known universe. Funny and SAD as hell. Take a hanky Land of the Lost Will Ferrel's career officially in an alternative dimension filled with lizards and stupid monkey people. |

I forgot to rate Star Trek, which I saw the day after posting I wanted to see it so I'll do it now.Star Trek Utterly brilliant, I won't divulge too much about the storyline but I thought it was very clever throughout. My sometimes overly scientific mind often questioned certain aspects of the film but they were all brushed away very quickly and very early by brilliant and constant action sequences and the amusing dialogue. That said, I did think there was something missing, like when you try to remember something and it's on the tip of your tongue but you have no idea what it is. I had this feeling about this film. Kit gives Star Trek: 4/5 = Refreshingly good! No Country For Old Men "Hmmm..." were my thoughts all the way through this film. At the end of the film, I was left unsure about it, still thinking over the plot-lines. But the more you let it settle on you, the more you realise this is a fantastic movie! Nothing short of epic. It's gripping from the very beginning and extremely tense throughout. Javier Bardem plays an excellent role in this film. One of the strangest endings in recent cinema history, I feel; however, it fits well with the general "no idea" of the film. Kit gives No Country For Old Men 4/5 = Refreshingly good! |

Today I was bored and watched two interesting movies. The first was Jungle Fever which was produced in 1991 and The Cowboy Way which was produced in 1994. The first movie stars Wesley Snipes as "Flipper," a black architect living in New York City who is living a content life with his wife and daughter. This all changes when he decides to cheat on his wife and has relations with a white temp, Angie Tucci (Annabella Sciorra) from the architecture firm he works at. He discloses his affair with a close confidant who spills the beans to his own wife who tells Flipper's wife. Flipper's wife throws him out and rants her disgust at him being with a "white trash" chick. Angie's family similarly disowns her for having relations with a black man. Meanwhile, Flipper's mother is torn between her husband, a devout protestant, and her son, a drug addict. She gives in to her son's demands for drug money out of sympathy. Her husband finally finds out about the whole thing and kills the son. There is also a storyline regarding Angie's old high school boyfriend who she continues to date even though she doesn't like him. This seemingly doesn't fit into the movie at all and is a mere distraction. The movie's highlights come from its portrayal of racial problems existing in NYC. It does a superb job of outlining the emotions and tensions of different racial groups. Although at some points it seems that the characters are preaching racial equality. The relationships between the characters aren't really developed. They seem to only serve the purpose of reiterating the whole racial tension problem. The movie had some nice effects. At one point, Flipper takes a trip to the "Taj Mahal," a building full of druggies. The lighting in conjunction with the music creates a satisfying scene that accurately conveys the hell which poor drug addicts live. However, the movie seemed too full of music, which became distracting at some points. Overall, the film was interesting and satisfying. Final Score: 7.5/10 The next movie I watched was "The Cowboy Way," a cliche "fish out the water" flick about two cowboys (Woody Harrelson, Kiefer Sutherland) living in New Mexico. Things go terribly wrong when their friend Nacho has to go to New York City to find his daughter, who is being held captive by criminals. After not hearing from Nacho, the two cowboys go to New York City to find him. It's all bland fun and laughs when they try to make sense of city life being cowboys and all. In the end they team up with a local police officer and help find Nacho's daughter. After a bunch of fighting and dumb jokes, the pair defeat the bad guys and rescue Nacho's daughter. The movie ends with the group about to travel back to New Mexico. The film was just one big cliche. Some scenes were just too painfully bland and boring. The movie at times felt as if it would never end. Final Score: 2/10 |
