That's nothing to be ashamed of. (btw, It's Green Day. You forgot the space. )Foo Fighters-Gimme Stitches I can be your right of way So we can get out of here I'll always be the one who runs from everyone Cause everyone's just too weird Sink with someone tied to me I'm making you volunteer Another one has come and gone They crawl along, make them disappear Dress me up in stitches it's now or never Tired of wearing black and blue Dress me up in stitches it's now or never Dying to get my blood on you Blood on you Take another stab at me, I promise in time I'll heal But yesterday went on and on a bit too long I waited out on high street There's nothing to find out here Another day has come and gone They crawl along, wasting all these years How can you go on when you're murdering someone Killing me like you do Gimme stitches now or never Before I get my blood on you Dress me up in stitches it's now or never Tired of wearing black and blue Dress me up in stitches it's now or never Dying to get my blood on you Blood on you |

Mark Gunnery and Ryan Harvey The Grocery Workers Song the grocery workers are strong and proud see how our knives are worn see how our backs are strong and how our hands are scuffed and torn we stock your shelves with bulk food the folks need to stay alive without our time and labour half the middle class would die. your floors we mop, your shelves we stock your customers we serve our bodies test their limits here for less than we deserve and if you try to work us harder we're going to kick your ass for we will fight this war forever for each other and our class the management is cutting corners look how they pretend they care about the workers while they speed up production and if you cut our wages we're going to kick your ass for we will fight this war forever for each other and our class yeah we will wage a battle for the rights that we have earned and we will build a union so that everyone is heard and if you break our unity we're going to kick your ass for we will fight this war forever for each other and our class and we will not be fooled by the AFL-CIO our union's not a union if we don't all share control and if you try co-opting us we're going to kick your ass for we will fight this war forever for each other and our class when the boss is off we slack all day and do our best to stall we take our breaks for hours but don't punch the clock at all we talk amongst each other about how much we hate that boss and we eat whatever we want and totally ignore the cost the grocery workers are strong and proud see how our knives are worn see how our backs are strong and how our hands are scuffed and torn we're forming our own union and this union's gonna last cause we will fight this war forever for each other and our class (this made me feel a lot better about being a grocery worker)

Sixteen Tons (Merle Travis) I was born one mornin' when the sun didn't shine Picked up a shovel and I walked to the mine I hauled Sixteen Tons of number 9 coal And the straw-boss said, "Well, bless my soul" You haul Sixteen Tons, whadaya get? Another older and deeper in debt Saint Peter don't you call me cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store Born one morning it was drizzle and rain Fightin' and Trouble are my middle name I was raised in a canebrake by an old mama lion And no high-toned woman make me walk the line You haul Sixteen Tons, whadaya get? Another older and deeper in debt Saint Peter don't you call me cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store See me comin' better step aside A lot of men didn't and a lot of men died I got one fist of iron and the other of steel And if the right one don't get ya, the left one will You haul Sixteen Tons, whadaya get? Another older and deeper in debt Saint Peter don't you call me cause I can't go I owe my soul to the company store Born one mornin' when the sun didn't shine Picked up a shovel and I walked to the mine I hauled Sixteen Tons of number 9 coal And the straw-boss said, "Well, bless my soul" You haul Sixteen Tons, whadaya get? Fun is the only noise you should hear
|
Drive by Truckers THE DAY JOHN HENRY DIED I watched the rain; it settled in. We disappeared for days again. Most of us were staying in, lazy like the sky. The letters flew across the wire filtered through a million liars. The whole world smelled like burning tires the day John Henry died. We knew about that big machine that ran on human hope and steam. Bets on John were far between and mostly on the side. We heard he put up quite a fight. His hands and feet turned snowy white. That hammer rang out through the night the day John Henry died. When John Henry was a little bitty baby nobody ever taught him how to read but he knew the perfect way to hold a hammer was the way the railroad baron held the deed. It didn't matter if he won, if he lived, or if he'd run. They changed the way his job was done. Labor costs were high. That new machine was cheap as hell and only John would work as well, so they left him laying where he fell the day John Henry died. John Henry was a steel-driving bastard but John Henry was a bastard just the same. An engine never thinks about his daddy and an engine never needs to write its name. So pack your bags, we're headed west and L.A. ain't no place to rest. You'll need some sleep to pass the test, so get some on the flight and say your prayers John Henry Ford 'cause we don't need your work no more. You should have known the final score the day John Henry died. Jason Isbell © House of Fame Music (BMI) |

BTW, Shay, Mr. Rialis is hosting the Shamrock and Pesto Show again in TSP. And, have you listened to the new DBT album or Jason Isbell's solo album? More DBT~! Where the Devil Don't Stay My Daddy played poker on a stump in the woods back in his younger days Prohibition was the talk, but the rich folks walked to the woods where my Daddy stayed Jugs and jars from shiners, these old boys here, they ain't miners They came from the twenty-niners It didn't take a hole in the ground to put the bottom in their face Back in the thirties when the dust bowl dried And the woods in Alabama didn't see no light My Daddy played poker by a hard wood fire Squeezing all his luck from a hot copper wire Scrap like a wildcat fights till the end Trap a wildcat and take his skin Deal from the bottom, put the ace in the hole One hand on the jug but you never do know Son come running You better come quick This rotgut moonshine is making me sick Your Mama called the law and they're gonna take me away Down so far even the Devil won't stay Where I call to the Lord with all my soul I can hear him rattling the chains on the door He couldn't get in I could see he tried Through the shadows of the cage around the forty watt light Daddy tell me another story Tell me about the lows and the highs Tell me how to tell the difference between what they tell me is the truth or a lie Tell me why the ones who have so much make the ones who don't go mad With the same skin stretched over their white bones and the same jug in their hand My Daddy played poker on a stump in the woods back when the world was gray Before black and white went and chose up sides and gave a little bit of both their way The only blood that's any cleaner is the blood that's blue or greener Without either you just get meaner and the blood you gave gives you away Lyrics by Mike Cooley and Ed Cooley (based on a poem by Ed Cooley) / Music by Drive-By Truckers © Wayward Johnson's Music (BMI) / The Minor Hill Singers: Jason Isbell, Kimberly Morgan and Shonna Tucker ================================= brand new DBT Home Front The hours creep across the face As she paces across the floor She can’t even get to sleep since Tony went to war She feels bitchslapped and abandoned By a world she thought she knew Cold beyond comprehension as their little girl turns two Now they’re saying on the flat screen They ain’t found a reason yet We’re all bogged down in a quagmire And there ain’t no end to it No Nine Eleven or Uranium to pin the bullshit on She’s left standing on the home front The two of them alone Patterson Hood / Drive-By Truckers © Razor and Tie Music (BMI) |

Shamrock and Pesto Show ![]() No I haven't and I really need to. So many things to do and so little time. Brandi Carlile - Have You Ever Have you ever wandered lonely through the woods? And everything there feels just as it should You're part of the life there You're part of something good If you've ever wandered lonely through the woods if you've ever wandered lonlely through the woods Have you ever stared into a starry sky? Lying on your back you're asking why What's the purpose I wonder who am I If you've ever stared into a starry sky Have you ever stared into a starry sky Have you ever been out walking in the snow? Tried to get back to where you were before You always end up not knowing where to go If you've ever been out walking in the snow If you'd ever been out walking you would know |

This is originally a Chris Isaak song, and my buddies Zebra Junction do an awesome version with a heavily modified mandola (now with 20% more strings and 3 shiny buttons!) Baby did a bad bad thing, baby did a bad bad thing. Baby did a bad bad thing, baby did a bad bad thing. You ever love someone so much you thought your little heart was gonna break in two? I didn't think so. You ever tried with all your heart and soul to get you lover back to you? I wanna hope so. You ever pray with all your heart and soul just to watch her walk away? Baby did a bad bad thing, baby did a bad bad thing. Baby did a bad bad thing, feel like crying, feel like crying. You ever toss and turn, you're lying awake and thinking about the one you love? I don't think so. You ever close your eyes, you making believe you're holding the one your dreaming of? Well if you say so. I hurts so bad when you finally know just how low, low, low, low, low, she'll go. Baby did a bad bad thing, baby did a bad bad thing. Baby did a bad bad thing, feel like crying, feel like crying. Ohh. feel like crying, feel like crying. Ohh, feel like crying, feel like crying. (mandola solo ) Baby did a bad bad thing, baby did a bad bad thing. |

Three Doors Down - Kryptonite I took a walk around the world to ease my troubled mind I left my body laying somewhere in the sands of time I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon I feel there is nothing I can do Yeah I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon After all I knew it had to be something to do with you I really don’t mind what happens now and then As long as you’ll be my friend at the end If I go crazy then will you still call me superman If I’m alive and well, will you be there holding my hand I’ll keep you by my side with my superhuman might Kryptonite You called me strong, you called me weak, but still your secrets I will keep You took for granted all the times I never let you down You stumbled in and bumped your head, if not for me then you would be dead I picked you up and put you back on solid ground If I go crazy then will you still call me superman If I’m alive and well, will you be there holding my hand I’ll keep you by my side with my superhuman might Kryptonite |

 Keane - Somewhere Only We Know I walked across an empty land, I knew the pathway like the back of my hand. I felt the earth beneath my feet, Sat by the river and it made me complete. Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on. So tell me when you're gonna let me in, I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin. I came across a fallen tree, I felt the branches; are they looking at me? Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of? Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on. So tell me when you're gonna let me in, I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin. So if you have a minute why don't we go, Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything. So why don't we go, somewhere only we know, Somewhere only we know. Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on. So, tell me when you gonna let me in, I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin. So if you have a minute why don't we go, Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything. So why don't we go, so why don't we go, Hmmm yeahh, This could be the end of everything. So why don't we go, somewhere only we know, Somewhere only we know Somewhere only we know. |

See how in my signature it says "Slayer fan"? This is the song that got me into them. It blew me away when I first heard it, utterly amazing. Totally different from everything else I'd ever heard... ![]() Btw Slayer aren't Satanic, they do the whole Satanism thing for fun and to annoy fundies. Just thought I should point that out. Altar of Sacrifice - Slayer (lyrics - King, music - Hanneman) Waiting the hour destined to die Here on the table of Hell A figure in white unknown by man Approaching the altar of death High priest awaiting dagger in hand Spilling the pure virgin blood Satan's slaughter, ceremonial death Answer his every command! Death will come easy just close your eyes - Dream of the friends youll see Heavenly failure losing again Move on to a new form of life Altar of sacrifice, curse of the damned Confronting the evil you dread Coalesce into one your shadow and soul Soon you will meet the undead (lead: Hanneman) Altar of sacrifice, curse of the damned Confronting the evil you dread Coalesce into one your shadow and soul Soon you will meet the undead Enter to the realm of Satan! (lead: Hanneman) Blood turning black, the change has begun Feeling the hatred of all damned in Hell Flesh starts to burn, twist and deform Eyes dripping blood realization of death Transforming of five toes to two Learn the sacred words of praise, hail Satan! (lead: Hanneman) A gift of powers disposed upon you Use them when you feel the need Master the forces and powers of Satan Controlling the creatures instinct Drawn to the castles that float in the sky Learn to resist the temptation Watching the angels sift through the heavens Endlessly searching for salvation (lead: King) EDIT: forgot to add the name of the song! All good now.

And did those feet in ancient time (a.k.a. "Jerusalem"), written by William Blake Unofficial national anthem of England And did those feet in ancient time, Walk upon England's mountains green? And was the holy lamb of god, In England's pleasant pastures seen? And did the coutenance divine, Shine forth upon our clouded hills? And was Jerusalem builded here, Amongst these dark Satanic mills? Bring me my bow of burning gold! Bring me my arrows of desire! Bring me my spear! O clouds unfold! Bring me my chariot of fire! I will not cease from mental fight, Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand! Till we have built Jerusalem, In England's green and pleasant land! Oldie and classical - but beautiful nevertheless! |

Finger Eleven - Paralyzer I hold on so nervously To me and my drink I wish it was cooling me But so far, has not been good It’s been shitty And I feel awkward, as I should This club has got to be The most pretentious thing Since I thought you and me Well I am imagining A dark lit place Or your place or my place Well I’m not paralyzed But, I seem to be struck by you I want to make you move Because you’re standing still If your body matches What your eyes can do You’ll probably move right through Me on my way to you I hold out for one more drink Before I think I’m looking too desperately But so far has not been fun I should just stay home If one thing really means one This club will hopefully Be closed in three weeks That would be cool with me Well I’m still imagining A dark lit place Or your place or my place Well, I’m not paralyzed But, I seem to be struck by you I want to make you move Because you’re standing still If your body matches What your eyes can do You’ll probably move right through Me on my way to you We’ll, I’m not paralyzed But, I seem to be struck by you I want to make you move Because you’re standing still If your body matches What your eyes can do You’ll probably move right through Me on my way to you I’m not paralyzed But, I seem to be struck by you I want to make you move Because you’re standing still If your body matches What your eyes can do You’ll probably move right through Me on my way to you You’ll probably move right through Me on my way to you You’ll probably move right through Me on my way to you |

Teardrops On My Guitar - Taylor Swift Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see That I want and I'm needing everything that we should be I'll bet she's beautiful, that girl he talks about And she's got everything that I have to live without Drew talks to me, I laugh cause it's so damn funny That I can't even see anyone when he's with me He says he's so in love, he's finally got it right, I wonder if he knows he's all I think about at night [Chorus:] He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do Drew walks by me, can he tell that I can't breathe? And there he goes, so perfectly, The kind of flawless I wish I could be She'd better hold him tight, give him all her love Look in those beautiful eyes and know she's lucky cause [Repeat Chorus] So I drive home alone, as I turn out the light I'll put his picture down and maybe Get some sleep tonight He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar The only one who's got enough of me to break my heart He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do He's the time taken up, but there's never enough And he's all that I need to fall into.. Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see. |

Whiskey Lullaby - Brad Paisley (featuring Alison Krauss) She put him out like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette She broke his heart he spent his whole life tryin' to forget We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind Until the night He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger And finally drank away her memory Life is short but this time it was bigger Than the strength he had to get up off his knees We found him with his face down in the pillow With a note that said I'll love her till I die And when we buried him beneath the willow The angels sang a whiskey lullaby (Sing lullaby) The rumors flew but nobody knew how much she blamed herself For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath She finally drank her pain away a little at a time But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind Until the night She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger And finally drank away his memory Life is short but this time it was bigger Than the strength she had to get up off her knees We found her with her face down in the pillow Clinging to his picture for dear life We laid her next to him beneath the willow While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby (Sing lullaby) |
