Yeah, they believe the fact that Zaheer was blessed with Airbending via Harmonic Convergence implied that their "cause is a righteous one." What that may be is still unknown but what is known is that they want to take down the Avatar. Why? Who knows. Maybe they think they know better and want to restore the balance of the 3, soon to be 4 nations again. Its clearly implied that the Earth Kingdom is suffering from Zuko, Aang and the former Earth King's decisions. Half of Ba Sing Sei is slums now that wreaks 100s of feet in the air.

If the season is anything like the first one, which was magnificent in the sense that there was a lot of shades of grays and inbetweens. Amon wasn't completely unjustified until we found out he was actually Noatok, a waterbender, which suddenly skewed his entire idealism. I expect from that, we will see that their cause is to bring prosperity to all the nations equally. Aang's decisions as Avatar threw the world into an unprecedented state of poverty and crime outside of Republic City. Harmonic Convergence is already taking care of that problem, which might even FURTHER justify their cause, if only in their own minds. Zaheer seems to be especially spiritual and I have a feeling he'll get the spirits on his side actually, if only for a short while.

What I didn't get is why did they lock them up? Why didn't Ang just take their bending away. Zaheer being locked up I get, since he didn't have any bending to take at the time. I'm sensing these guys are the reason why Ang died, they still don't mention if he died of old age or was murdered.

I'm also starting to think that Zuko dies this season. They showed him only twice in the trailer and the last time was of him fighting the combustion girl and the others. If he survives that battle, why not show him after that with team Avatar fighting them again.

Aang died of old age. He could've lived longer if it wasn't for him being trapped in an iceberg for 100 years.

I did some research on them and they've only been locked away for 13 years. They probably revolted or started their little thing after Aang died, or at least got serious anyways. Korra being 16-17 would've only been 3, meaning no threat from the Avatar. All they've had to worry about is the White Lotus.

Was there anybody else that thought the 22 year old dude was voiced by Jon Heder/Napoleon Dynamite?

12 episodes for the season doesn't seem bad to me. It's my kind of pace for shows, anyway.

Anyone watch the new episodes?
I did, those fighting scenes were amazing. Its awesome how they are going to have 2 new episodes every week for now on for this season. The Dai Li are such badasses but they did get their asses handed to them by newbie airbenders.

So now we know that Zaheer and his group were trying to kidnap Korra when she was 3. My guess is that he tried to kidnap her then tame her into a ultimate fighting machine. Another guess is that his goal is probably on the lines of destroying the Avatar lineage and kill the Avatar while shes in the Avatar state, preventing future Avatars being made.

I think there's going to be a plot twist where Zaheer and his group are going to end up trying to help the Avatar get her past Avatar history back. It would seem strange that Zaheer would follow old Air bender philosophy while being a killer unless he had a really good, strange reason for it.

That's probably not it since they've were arrested way before she lost her connection to the past Avatars.

I watched the latest episodes and they were spectacular. I didn't hear good things about season 2 and I didnt watch it either, but this season is certainly on par with the first.

The fighting scenes were great. Mako and Bolin vs the Dai Li had me on the edge of my chair, same with Zahir and that old lady at Tenzins house. I don't really have any predictions as for what their goals are, all I know is that I'm psyched to see more of Zahir and the others.

This is actually quite entertaining. I am truly enjoying this new antagonist, but I remain poised for anticipating disappointment because of the ones before him. My curiosity for his intentions only continue to grow, though. There are still cliche moments, but they seem a lot more brief and interrupted to me, which is what I want in the least. The style of the art direction keeps luring me in as well. The architecture and fashion design of these towns are simply interesting to me. I'm loving the consistent blend of an industrial and oriental environment.
