https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTtfAQEeAJI Here you have a demo for the Virtuix Omni. Compatible and designed for the Oculus Rift's newest model, this platform gives full immersion into the gaming world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBgmmuEe9HQ And here you have the ARAIG[As Real As It Gets]. Designed to go with both. This suit replicates vibrations and stimulation in the muscles to give you the sensation of actually being in the game. Also with surround sound speakers on the suit. You get shot with a bullet? You feel the impact. Obviously lessened and minus the pain, but you get it. And here is a video talking about usage of all three: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toRNR2TJqhs As an added bonus, here is a demo of the Virtuix and Oculus used for a Pokemon game test! Yes, walking around in the Pokemon sprite world. A work in progress, it is still very promising. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W0oBP5iEbk Check out the Virtuix channel for more gameplay videos and tests! "This opens up so many possibilities----and not just for gaming. The military, healthcare, even physical therapy. The Virtuix Omni already calculates miles and calories. Imagine going for a jog in the Skyrim world every morning." |

I doubt it will sell well in the gaming world but it would be helpful in the other areas. |

Am I the only one that just finds the whole thing kinda weird? Mainly the whole set on the Battlefield video, running in place. It's nice to get pulled into the game, but in the back of my mind I would feel like such a tard. It just looks silly watching some one run in place. Maybe im just old now ='( But the main issue is getting funded and actually having games support this and implement it into their games well. Alot of games may not even bother if they feel that a large portion of their player base doesn't even own one. Which would be the issue for indie developers, they dont really have money to sink into stuff like that. So I dont really see any of this going any where for a long time. |

Still, I am just eager to see what changes it brings to gaming in the future, whether major or minor. |

Some of you overthink things, and that kills the joy of progress. Why not see it for what it is? An amazing upgrade for gaming. If it turns into something you only use once in a while like the Wii, then okay for you. You'll probably buy it anyway. Or maybe it becomes dryer than that. You'll still probably buy it. I just don't see how fully immersive VR could be a turn off, at least for the first few impressions. Every review I've read and watched says it IS fully immersive. Am I the only one blown away by the fact we can literally jump into new worlds now? |

Pretty nice, but way too pricey atm. Give it some time. Maybe like someone said in one of the videos, this will be a way to make arcades mainstream again. I'm going to just throw out a wild guess, but...give or take 30 years or so until we get to Sword Art Online VR levels. I hope anyway. I'll be 50 by then, though. :/ |

Didn't they have something similar to the Oculus Rift in the early 2000's..? Cause I remember having something like it but I think it was an entire game itself instead of a console. |

Not trying to bash it or wanting the progress to be stopped. My main issue is with the movement part. If I want to play a game, I want to sit down, relax and not have to do squat. An standing up running around in place isn't really relaxing for hours. Just from the videos, since I haven't went deep into this stuff so I could be missing some things. But it looks like with out the movement pad you can't really play stuff right. As how would you turn/look around behind you in something like a FPS? Since it seems like you have to spin around to turn around? Can't really do that when sitting. Unless you got a spinning chair or something I guess. |

No. Nothing remotely close to the Rift has been around besides the competition that arose because of it. The Rift is literally in it's own league because in the past VR was...not even VR. It was a screen in front of you. Through goggle type shit. The Rift and it's competitors literally make you think you're inside that world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNgQlFqQWlE A guy's reaction to a friend pushing him as he's using the rift. The combined falling feeling and the visual foolery made him think he was actually in the roller coaster. Some more reactions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjrXTY58cSw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAC5SeNH8jw Just to get an idea. |
