Demon's Souls

Got it for free from PS Plus. It's quite awesome and I've only done the first level. It took me a couple days just to beat that, which accumulated about a total of four hours. It's only a twenty minute run when completed?

Haven't tried out any other classes or multiplayer yet. I'm a thief and I'm wondering what a decent build for that would be. Arrows tend to suck, but I wasted them all on that black knight.

If you haven't tried it, you should. It's only 20 dollars right now and I find it to be spectacular, and I haven't gone through too much of it.

The game is known I know, but the rumors about it do make it a bit intimidating to purchase or get into. It's also not too known. It was that underground wonder when it came out. If you want a RPG style with decent/original bosses, you must try this.

I haven't tried Dark Souls. I heard it's better, but it's nearly impossible to play with a friend. I also saw that gameplay video of Dark Souls 2 which made me want to play Demon's Souls.

Yeah, lets do that. It also turns out I didn't beat the first level, just the first boss. I spent like 10k souls on arrows to spam at that dragon. I should have known. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN.

Btw still not done with the first level.

The co op system is like this. . . If you're dead, a live person can summon you to their game. They put servers in Dark Souls because they don't want co op play, but more of a world of souls that can help or destroy each other. That way instead of planning ahead, you don't know what you're going to get. Because the game isn't hard or doesn't trick you enough, they have that with a PvP system where if you have a black stone you can invade someone's world and kill them to resurrect yourself, but when you invade you have half health and the levels aren't ever above or below more than two, so it's not some max character destroying you for no raisins. There are also bloodstains when you die, which you can leave to write comments.

So if you died at a trap, you can say "Behind you!" or "Treasure ahead."

The bosses are fantastic. It's too bad the developers of the game strict things too much so you have to do them "their way." This isn't exactly play how you want to, but how you're supposed to. Only thing I don't support about it. But having an action role-playing that supports multiplayer with customization and is played with pure skill or cleverness is what I love. Absolutely adore those kind of games.

The only boss you have to do it "their way" in Dark Souls 2. Which is the worse boss in the entire game, the fight is literally a pound of steaming horse shit, and the game would be better if it wasn't in it. Rest are pretty god damn boss.

Some bosses have alternative 'methods' but there isn't any definitive fight me like dis. Like the bed of chaos annoying horse cabbage.

By "their way" I wasn't talking about the bosses, but I didn't make that clear. What I mean was the paths are linear and they set up the servers so that co-op with people you actually know is nearly impossible. There seems to be no decision making at all, which is odd. Not multiple paths to take or anything. A separate path will just be a dead end or short detour.

I was sort of under the impression that it would be more like "Do you want to help this stranger NPC? You don't know this person. He could betray you." But instead it's "Might as well help this criminal in a cell. Seems fine, he'll give you an item."

It's not anything big, it just bothers me how strict the game can be. The same is said how to get past obstacles that damage you.

Multiple path ways for Dark Souls. It isn't 100% do it how you want because eventually you do have to do something to progress, but that's how it is in most games.

The games progress even there are only two the devs definitely seem to be working on that. Hopefully Dark Souls 2 will be even better, so try Dark Souls 2. . .

I'm definitely going to get Dark Souls after I beat this game. The story lacks, but I'm fine with that. It's not like they have characters to relate or fall in love with. It's truly amazing with just the gameplay.

I also saw gameplay for Dark Souls 2. They mostly showed multiple ways to die, one being a rickety bridge surrounded by 20 dragons. No idea how that will be possible. Looks good, though.
