So, for those of you who've known me, you'll know that I like to play a variety of character archetypes. Usually I prefer a good balance with an emphasis towards ninjutsu. (A build resembling 15/25/10, possibly?) I've played characters that are based off capacity, control, and physique but, after the events I've seen lately, I must bring up this topic:
In an effort to "mix things up", I played a Taijutsu-Styled Uchiha this era. Man, I did not expect the verbal beat-down I get on OOC after every encounter. It seems like the NFF populous is unwilling to accept that fists and feet CAN be used as actual weapons...in fact, if fire is not shooting from your anus, you can't be considered a real ninja. This type of behavior is to be expected from pure ninjutsu users, perhaps, but even players that have been FAMOUS for playing tai-ninja in the past? There are many of these so called "experienced" players just crying after every fight. Apparently blocking doorways with my body/other things is cheap now...because I use taijutsu. Using walls to my advantage is also cheap...because I use taijutsu. I am not allowed to Shushin. I use taijutsu therefore...not allowed. Whoa, whoa, whoa, KICKING, you're actually KICKING me? Cheap. No. Because Taijutsu. God forbid I MAX my taijutsu passives otherwise I'm accused of being an edited Argon-sucker, amirite? In fact, let me make the list of things that are cheap and things that aren't: Not Cheap
Cheap
So I'm just tired of seeing this, there are at least 3 posts below this with "crappy community" on it (not agreeing/dis-agreeing with that) but maybe we can consider our ways. Note: These aren't new players complaining and crying, sobbing out their faceholes. BRs don't say anything. New players may grumble, but getting killed is part of the ninja-way. No, these are the self-styled "oldbies" (hate that term, gonna use it anyway) whose self-absorbed image of themselves is that if anything KOs them, it's already too OP for the game. Nerf. Discuss. Taijutsu is mainly cheap because it dominates ninjutsu. It is somehow the weakness of ninjutsu because you attack their health harder/faster, which you have more of. You also were gained extra benefits such as "stuns." 1 kick gives a player the stun of 2-3 seconds. Now a stun doesn't make that person not move, but makes it so they can't use their ninjutsu, but if they do, it goes on CD. Which makes Gates almost impossible to beat considering you can't kawa, clone, anything. So you get rid of their offense, defense and health. In one kick. Which is why it's cheap. The stun should be removed. . . . |

So...they can run around perfectly unaffected while you're kicking them in the head? While ninjutsu has a host of binds, pushback, effects, etc. You're saying taijutsu should make it IMPOSSIBLE for the user to catch his opponent if he wants to run?Or even worse, if I'm attacking someone they can Baku me at close range without any drawback on their part? My punchs/kicks don't mess with their handseals? Kicks already have a pushback affect (that doesn't do wall damage) on them so you can't just pound them constantly. You have to catch them. FYI. Also, ninjutsu users are weak to taijutsu users, wtf? One has more chakra, the other has more stamina. Even trade off? Edited by Unstoppablebeast, Jan 24 2013, 01:22 AM.

Like I said, the stun doesn't make it so they don't move. It makes it so they can't defend themselves with their abilities. The taijutsu with that stun is punishing someone because of their build. Which is the worse thing a game can do. The punishments for a build should be on the user's behalf. How much damage he does with what, how much chakra he has, how much chakra his moves take, ect. Having more chakra isn't a trade off to health. Health is health. It helps in any scenario. Having more chakra means you can use more moves. Having more health means you can take more moves. That sounds balanced. Except Taijutsu doesn't need chakra at all for its moves. It can do hard hitting damage without any at all. Yet it can get more than double the health. Tai doesn't need chakra. Everyone and Nin users included do need health. That's completely unfair. So you take more hits, and can do around the same hits with the same damage. . . . Except you do it faster. Instantly in fact. |

Well gates(in the anime) were used to completely overwhelm and dominate your opponent. I didn't see anyone use any ninjutsu that involved handseals while getting smacked around by Lee. |

Popular MMOs. Warrior vs Mage class. Which has more health and which has more energy (read: Mana)? Edit: And you still haven't addressed the fact that you want a person is able to do handseals while getting hit, and not just hit. Smacked. Hard. By a taijutsu specialist? Handseals are able to be canceled if you're hit by another ninjutsu, why can't they be canceled if you get hit by taijutsu? Edited by Unstoppablebeast, Jan 24 2013, 01:33 AM.

But the warriors are slow with long CD, warriors don't use their magic for moves and the mages don't have handseals and the warriors' regular attack don't make it so the mage can't defend itself. A tank character will destroy a mage if that mage isn't long ranging. Which is easy to do because of speed. In NFF, we are in small rooms with the same speed, but Tai attacks faster and their moves don't cost magic. @Handseals= That's just it. Handseals. You get hit by ninjutsu, they had to use handseals. Not something that is instant. If it is instant, it's not instantly spammable. It's on a CD. Unlike a regular punch or kick. Edited by Fal, Jan 24 2013, 01:36 AM.

Right...Fallen, I don't quite understand what you wrote there. Is that strengthening my point or...not? Warriors don't use "energy"...kay, Taijutsu users don't quite use it either. Mages are strongest from a distance...kay...so are ninjutsu users? Edit: A regular punch or kick doesn't have the same damage potential a jutsu does. Neither can it be long distance, neither can it bind others or burn them or paralyze them. Edited by Unstoppablebeast, Jan 24 2013, 01:37 AM.

Warriors "DO" use energy. Taijutsu users don't. Warriors will either use stamina or their energy, which is the same as a mage. Taijutsu users don't have to spend either. Mages are strongest from a distance. Games with mages have distance and they don't have handseals. Arenas are small areas compared to those scenarios. Small area with a delay on your attack while your opponent does not have one, yet does damage to the health he has 3x of and is more powerful close, while his regular attack makes it so you can't attack back. I don't get it. How is Tai not the weakness of Nin? |

They have cast times you can interrupt? If you guys are really having this conversation right now. . . Silence spells/attacks are also found in such games as well. . . And gap closer moves. . . There is also an auto attack mechanic that doesn't use energy. . . Edited by Fox, Jan 24 2013, 01:43 AM.
