Increased gameplay/graphics, don't re-use the same stages over and over. Don't re-use the same special moves and Ultimates. More Game-modes. The only thing I can tilt my hat to in this sequel is the Sasuke story mission where you fight more than one NPC, but so far I've only seen that once, and I have a feeling that's the only time it's going to happen. |

Compare the first Budokai to the second, then the third. Major changes every time. Compare Mortal Kombat games to each other. They are indeed different games. This one is just, here's the same graphics, tweaked gameplay, and another single player you won't care about, nor should you. Generations had 70 characters and this is only over 80? This game should go down by 20 dollars in just two months. |

Comparing NUNS's graphical update to Budokai's is wholly unfair. They changed the entire style in Budokai (from normal 3d to cel-shaded) on a system that still had room to grow. There's not much to do to up the graphics of NUNS while maintaining its cost and overall flow (speed, framerate, etc.). DBZ is a series that features multiple dimensions of fighting... having a huge space to fight in makes sense, and being able to knock your opponent around the planet is legit. Naruto is more down to Earth (literally). Not sure what other features in the actual fighting could be added to NUNS beyond stuff like Dragon Rush in Budokai 3 (think that's what the button-press thing was called). Different ultilmates is foolish lol (unless you mean more ultimates like in Ultimate Ninja 2 for the PS2, in which case I approve). I, for one, enjoy single player... not necessarily for the gameplay, but just for the experience. It's a different way to experience Naruto's plot. Why not? Mortal Kombat games can change because they have more room to change, The only thing they have to keep up with is their own fanbase. Naruto has to please its creator and the fan base. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? |

There's not much to do in graphics when it comes to a Naruto game? You say it's unfair to compare it to a DBZ one? Maybe you haven't noticed, but DBZ is that thing that has people fly around destroying buildings, landscapes, planets and has over 250 characters in a game with energy/aura. The only thing unfair about that comparison is directed in DBZ's direction. It's not all about the graphics, either. Everything was changed every time. Naruto has attacks that come from the moon, giant transformations, aura based attacks. Naruto is similar to DBZ in almost every possible way, and I showed that in a topic before. Yeah, they could have done a lot more. I already said why not. Because it's 60 dollars, which is not worth it. This game is a DLC and that's all. If it ain't broke, don't fix it? If it is ain't a sequel, don't pay the full price. The game has been broken for a fighting game in each version, too. Freezing items, faster characters, spamming long range characters. There is definitely a balance issue every time. |

I was gonna get that game until I saw that the 2nd mizukage wasn't gonna be in it, also that footage I saw of edo tensei madara who has susanoo active for regular combos and the size of that fire jutsu will make him so overused and annoying.

There are few fighting games I'd actually buy. Super Smash Bros. and Soul Calibur being the main series. The Naruto video games are better off being rented than anything else. |

The 250 characters thing is bogus and you know it. You might as well count the Awakenings in Naruto as different characters then. A Naruto game should never be as fast paced as a DBZ game. Ever. It just doesn't make any sense. It's never all about the graphics, but it was brought up and commented on, so I follow suit. Personally, I don't really care about graphics. Saying Naruto is similar to DBZ is like saying Code Geass is similar to Death Note. Sure they're similar, but they have to stay within their own bounds. The strongest in Naruto can't punch a guy through rows of boulders like one of the weaker cahracters in DBZ can. The formula works. At the end of the day, it's a fun game to play with friends and online (unless you have crapnet like me). Yeah, I wouldn't pay 60 dollars for it either. I'd pay 30 max. Tell me what exactly you'd suggest that would make NUNS better (that has been similarly done in a DBZ game). |

On a totally unrelated note have any of you seen the sequelitis video egorapter did on megaman vs. megaman x? That pretty much portray's what a good sequel is, somone should send it to all the game dev's and if games as a whole improve its a win

These aren't the first Naruto fighting games. There are countless ways to change the gameplay and improve the graphics for this series. Naruto is as close as you can get to DBZ. Those two comparisons are best suited for each other in all ways, yet you can still compare it to other fighting games, and their sequels are definite sequels. Again. This game is not worth 60 dollars and I said why. You just disagree with a comparison made and want to type paragraphs of it. That's boring. |
