I don't think system restore is gonna fix it, depending on how old your computer is something probably stopped working right. You will more than likely need to just buy a new computer. I mean I could fix your computer if you mailed it to me, but other than that can't really help you with the information given.

So it said some hardware wasn't installed correctly. The only piece of hardware I have to this computer is a USB mouse, could that be the problem? |

No, your mouse shouldn't be causing that kind of a issue even if it wasn't installed correctly. The problem is something inside of the actual computer went bad is what I am assuming, or some piece of hardware inside the computer became loose.

BSOD is usually caused by hardware failure, which could many things. Your processor, your ram failing, your graphics card, or windows itself having a fatal error. The only way to fix problems like is to buy new hardware(or PC all together), or try to completely reinstall windows. |

Hello, Zed. I am hoping to help out with the issue again. Recently, I picked up a USB mouse with the intention of having one handy for traveling purposes. However, when I first tried to use it, I could not get it to work at all. I thought, "Hey, maybe it tried installing the wrong drivers. Perhaps, I can fix it by messing with the driver!" I manually went into the Device Manager and switched the driver used to install the mouse, and I was met with an immediate Blue Screen of Death. I selected the wrong driver. From there on, I received the blue screen whenever I plugged the mouse in. Fortunately, I fixed the problem in the end. So, let's not count out the mouse just yet. Give looking around the Device Manager a try. If it isn't the mouse, you should be able to see what it is. You can access the Device Manager with the following steps:
From here, look around for any signs of hardware with issues by expanding each category. Make note of any yellow warning symbols that appear similar to this: ![]() If you find them, they could be negatively impacting your computer in some way. Like before, this is just enough to find another lead. I hope this can help you in some way. If it cannot, sorry about wasting your time with all of the text. |

Wow thanks for that, unfortunately it's showing no errors in anything in the drivers. So it has to be something inside the computer. Thanks for the help though, this means I know for sure it isn't the mouse. |
