^ Rowe 1998: "As commonly understood, atheism is the position that affirms the nonexistence of God. So an atheist is someone who disbelieves in God, whereas a theist is someone who believes in God. Another meaning of 'atheism' is simply nonbelief in the existence of God, rather than positive belief in the nonexistence of God. … an atheist, in the broader sense of the term, is someone who disbelieves in every form of deity, not just the God of traditional Western theology." ^ a b Simon Blackburn, ed. (2008). "atheism". The Oxford Dictionary of Philosophy (2008 ed.). Oxford: Oxford University Press. Retrieved 2011-12-05. "Either the lack of belief that there exists a god, or the belief that there exists none. Sometimes thought itself to be more dogmatic than mere agnosticism, although atheists retort that everyone is an atheist about most gods, so they merely advance one step further." "Sometimes" Well, there you go. Edited by HerFavoriteColour, Jul 4 2013, 12:38 AM.

I think this could work. Ok let's take your example: is 4 important or not? That is the same as asking if Fable becoming an Atheist is important or not. That right there is, as you said, "different perspectives" If your perspective is that that 4 IS important, then 2+2 does not matter, since that is 4 as a whole. If your perspective is that 4 ISN'T important, then 2+2 is the important part. Perspectives. Now you're probably gonna say that it's not the same thing, since fable might not do this Leap of Faith, therefore there could be no formula to begin with. It is my opinion that he will though, and my opinion can hold the same weight as any other opinion (although arguably). Opinions. Maybe I am doing this wrong. Right now I am defending MY view... But my view is that Fable is not in a false situation, just transitory situation. But then by extension Fable does not deserve the hate you guys put on him, as he is in a right situation. |

Fable, if anything you are agnostic. But you aren't really that either, perhaps something close. It doesn't matter if it isn't important or not in Fables case Twist. It just is and isn't, there is no philosophy or perspective applied to what I'm saying. A circle cannot fit into a square hole. Surely we all played this game as kids. Of course.ag·nos·ti·cism (g-nst-szm) n. 1. The doctrine that certainty about first principles or absolute truth is unattainable and that only perceptual phenomena are objects of exact knowledge. 2. The belief that there can be no proof either that God exists or that God does not exist. I believe that there is no god. I believe there can be no proof of the state of the existence of a god. Can be Atheist and Agnostic at the same time (based on this definition). Edited by HerFavoriteColour, Jul 4 2013, 12:49 AM.

I meant to edit that post, and it seems the two edits happened at the same. But you are not really Agnostic either. You cannot be Agnostic and Atheist at the same time either. |

I have explained the definition to you already, and you chose to not accept it with claims that I am "reaching". Being an Agnostic atheist would mean you don't believe there is a god but there could be a god but because you're an atheist would mean you don't believe in god. We are moving backwards in progress Fable. Edited by Fox, Jul 4 2013, 12:54 AM.

2 + 2 = 4 Fable + Leap of Faith = Atheist Fable If opinion dictates that 2 will meet another 2 in the future, do I see this 2 as a 2, or as a 4, because opinion tells me that it will become a 4 anyway? You could easily say it's still a 2, but that is perspective. |

Na, haven't given me a definition that -EXPLICITLY-, not -IMPLICITLY- states that, or rather have not linked me to, or quoted from. |

NO TWIST NO The first part is incorrect, I have already said why. The second part has nothing to do with anything at all. |

So I have to find a definition, of a definition for you perhaps from a unanimous decision. Even when the definition I am describing is the definition. Edited by Fox, Jul 4 2013, 12:58 AM.
