Grudges in CN; we all seem to have them

Bud

When reading the OWF you will always find those that dont like each other and 50% probably have a good reason. Its the other half I would like to get opinions on.

I myself am very guilty of holding grudges in this game though I would like to think im getting better about it. I can only speak from my experiance with these but I think we all have experianced it from time to time. I would like to start this off by explaining a couple of mine and how they were over come or why they still remain. I would only ask that this be used as a learning experiance and that these words are not held against my alliance in any way for some may be offended though that is not my intent.

Cybernations is an ever evolving game, as leadership changes so does the feel of any alliance. In my personal experiance I have a treaty on my desk at the moment that I swore I would never sign yet currently I find myself leaning very much towards it. With out going in to names I had multiple run ins with the now retired leader whom treated me with less than courteous actions. While no wars ever broke out and I generally just took it as they could have easily destroyed my members I swore that if we should ever have the chance we would hit them and hit them hard. While we were still allied with NoV i took the oppurtunity to create a target list of this alliance and we were ready to rock. Our military ties with NoV have been severed so this list is now filed under P for in the past. With the changing of the leadership I find them much easier to work with and past offenses being put where they belong in the past and possibly see a very bright future between us.

Sorry Archon but I hated MK for the longest time. So much so that when mutual friends told me about their signings I bashed them left and right. I did this on what I had heard and a very bad dealing with one of their govt members. Im sure Sam will recall this. This grudge was very deeply ingrained untill one night on the OWF TTK was taking some heat and was being trolled. I pmed archon and we had a very nice conversation one that brought forth understanding as well as finding a common ground. What I had perceived was not always the truth and my dealings with one official was not necessarily reflective of their Govt as a whole. This grudge has turned in to a friendship.

Dont get me wrong I still have a few scores to settle as I am sure we all do. But my point with this is that we can always find common ground that is why we play this game. Grudges in them selves of past wrongs should be learning tools not your next CB. If I have learned anything from being in Maroon it is that with time things change if you keep your eyes closed you may miss a golden oppurtunity to make a very valuable friend. Hell with our Nuke rogue incident with NATO and now look what happened we have found a very true friend and ally.

I guess tl;dr on this is simply put were human, grudges will happen, but dont let a grudge blind you from a potentially awesome friend or oppurtunity to make life better for your members.

I tend to have more real life grudges than CN grudges.
Like I hate Monacans. (People from Monaco.) Why? Well we all have to hate someone... and how many Monacans do you know?

Edited: Because I type too fast

lol ab.

Bud, at first I was pretty sure you were talking about me, but then I realized I haven't retired yet.

Actually, our alliances are perfect examples of how grudges can be overcome. For a long time, we put you in the same category as Illuminati (obvious reasons) and NoV (treaties). Which is why when we had our exchange in December there was so much emotion involved. But we worked past that and now count TTK as one of our dearest friends. Illuminati and NoV, well, not sure what happened with them...

Thanks Anu, I guess my point is that sometimes grudges hinder us more than actually help us and by looking past them you never know what you may find.

I agree that grudges can definitely hinder things, but I am guilty of them along with anyone else.

The one thing I can say about the ones I hold: The past is at times the easiest way to tell the future.

No need to apologize, you weren't the only one and you had a perfectly good reason.

I am glad we talked though <3
