They Youngster of the Bunch CN wise anyways; Brief history of Bud

Bud

Hello all im Bud the Bastard but shortened to Bud do to the loss of my original nation because Bastard isnt a family oriented name.

I joined CN in June of 07 as a simple time killer. I was living in a small apt away from my family and needed something to pass the time. Once I joined I was flooded with recruitment messages so one night I took the time and went to the OWF and found the recruitment thread. I found the Templar Knights and decided that it was the place for me.

Upon joining the Knights i was very confused on the game mechanics and what it was all about. A couple of players took me under their wing and helped me to become a more active player. I began by posting a lot on our boards and basically being a pain in the but. It got me noticed. Our leadership at the time was stagnant and winds of change were coming quickly. As I was active I was included in these changes even though I was still very new to the game. I was promoted to Division commander sometime in late July early August where i commanded one division of Knights.

August continued with some dark times with TTK as leadership changed twice in a very short amount of time with the second change leading to a mass exodus of very strong members of the alliance. It was during this time i received my second promotion to Head of the armory and took command of the defense of TTK. This exodus left us weak and I was tempted to leave myself as I was a noob still and more than a little concerned about the alliance failing as a whole. I chose to stay though as I saw great potential in the membership as a community.

In September our External Preceptor (MOFA and my boss as HOA) stepped down and the leadership saw fit to once again promote me in to a position of power. This is where i found my calling in the game with FA. (Seems to be a common theme here) I was baptized by fire in this position as with the disbandment of GUARD we were alone on Bob. A couple of note worthy accomplishments during this time was the negotiating of the Hegemony Treaty (failed attempt for maroon unity) and successfully avoiding destruction with our gracious host. NATO you guys were awesome with all my noob mistakes.

December rolls around and our GM informs me that he is stepping down and that I will be his replacement. I was very nervous about this as I still had very little time in the game and still had a lot to learn. I accepted the promotion and the rest is history. I believe the talent and potential I saw in the core group of the alliance has been realized and TTK has one foot planted firmly in the game now and continues to grow.

Sorry about the text wall but hopefully this will help you all to understand who I am and what I am about.

My topic that I will discuss is something I think we all have an issue with is grudges in CN and their effect on diplomacy.

I must say, I will also be looking forward to what you have to say on that topic. It's a very interesting one, and one I considered writing about.
