How to build a better nation Stage 1 - Creation OMG you just created a nation.... what to do????, well seeing as you are reading this, you are already in an alliance, so step one protection is complete..... Stage 2 - Set Up Set you Gov positions, Religion and Government, your alliance will have guides for this, so read them , and use them. the extra happiness is massive and the right Government can give you some wonderful new peeps to get all attached to, gotta love them loyal servants. Stage 3 - Trades This is by far the most important thing in the game, now there are 2 ways to initial nation building, one of them I hate(Trades for money), why??? basically it normally means you will get trades that you don't really want... Trade Circle/guild or individual trades, either or, but with a guild there is always 5 of you looking for that lost trade, and strength in numbers is always good. Setting up a trade Guild, well first thing to shoot for is construction, lowered infra cost is massively important, so every trades set should have Marble, Steel , Alu and Lumber.. now my experience of CN say that when starting a guild you should try and get Lumber and Marble first, as these go quickly and are the hardest to find, once they are secured spam the hell out of your color sphere to complete... dont give up... it will happen. Step 4 - Aid If you are lucky enough to be in a heavy aiding alliance then woo hoo but try and keep your slots filled at all times during the early days, do this by using tech deals and such.. its worth it in the long run as you will get to know the bigger nations and you will be valued and get noticed. Step 5 - I have Aid an trades now what Get enough infra for that Harbour to complete the trade circle Buy all the tech you need for bonus resources(not for Scholars, you wont have enough) well... then its the boring part, inactivity, what you say... yes go inactive(that means no collecting Taxes) why, well paying bills every day at a low infra rate is cheap... collecting on the 19th day after buying a shedtonne of infra means you will collect 19 days at that lubbley high rate.... nom nom nom WARNING DO NOT TRY ANY MORE THAN 19 DAYS DELETION WILL HAPPEN once again guides on inactivity will be in your alliance forums. Step 6 - Now wut? Personally i turn to tech/land raiding to make some land... land is full of win and easy to get for free in great quantities but remember 3 simple rules Unalligned or nations within your Alliances charter,Don't raid red!!!!... and DON'T RAID RED Step 7 - That first collection NB National Birthdays can be used to great effect So its day 19 you have maxed out with trades, you have loaded on money from Tech deals/aid BUY INFRA in lumps of 10 and lots of it, keep your troop level above 20%, at every opportunity buy the best improvement for your growth I cannot stress factories enough, so i will say it again FACTORIES spend as much as you can, obviously keeping in mind what is needed for tech, double check your nation is set right, then triple check. I find making a list helpful for the first few times. then get someone more experienced to check for you. Step 8 - I has money ... spend spend spend NO!... stop... repeat the bill paying process again do inactivity... it well worth the wait for the results |

Besides the obvious environmental effects recent changes have put a strain on some of the highlighted trade circles, causing environmental penalties for importing some of the key resources of trade circles. What bonus resources do you consider most important to try to get and why? How do you feel about the recent additions to the game wonder wise? Additionally, do you feel that the changes hampered an already difficult issue for new nations to deal with (putting long term quality trade circles together), or do you feel that this maybe made folks take a better look at trades making them more realistic bringing another facet into the game? Finally, what if any improvements do you feel should be brought forward in the area of trades, tech, or finances to make the game more enjoyable for those focused on these areas of the game? Thanks... Buffy ![]() PS...thanks for stopping by and posting this topic, you rock even in purple

Use Government to counter act... Gov swapping is now key to micro management.
Depends on your native trades.... Each set up has bonuses and negatives The best in my opinion is still FF Beer and Construction.
I hate you admin... more guide updating...... Serious note some are great, but that Fallout Shelter is a bit stupid
The changes have brought the different trade sets a little closer, it leads to the idea of trade swapping, something I am testin on a small scale
lol there is a massive thread full of ideas on the OWF, something I really have little time for, updating the guides and info is a hard enough task as it is |

New Wonders and My Opinion
Well this is a raiders dream.. its $30m for an extra 5% population for me.... The Pansy drools
Ok someone correct me if I am wrong, but this means someone can nuke you , then do ground attacks on you all for 1 day less anarchy?? Admin.. thanks but no thanks
so its a Max of $8 for $25m, so not a bad one.... middle of the road, for those running out of good ones to get
Nuke Rouges Dream, add a missile silo and a CIA to this and your gonna do some serious damage |

Here is an interesting issue and seems to be a reoccuring theme with some of our larger nations. What if anything would you recommend for some of the larger nations to bring an interest back into the actually building of a nation, and assist more with the growth of a nation as you begin to reach a point that it seems growth slows down tremendously? |

Well something I am doing at the minute is over paying for tech ($3m for 50), and also doing sled walk throughs, to help my allaince, giving back is key, and helps you keep interested. The main reason people feel they are stagnant is because they are spending a lot of money trying to build wonders and such Also, so much money is wasted on daily bills for tanks. And then there is money wasted on not having the right bill resources So many things to micro manage..... how can you get bored? ok... so maybe I go too far... but hey , i am anal. but for growth , get a steady flow of tech coming in, buy donations one way or another, increase sled up to 19 days. |
