Hey Everyone!

I am Golden Boy, current Elder Arch of The Revolution.

I started this game way back on Christmas eve of 2006. My first alliance was MHA. Loved it and grew there until it was time for a new beginning.

I created POSA, an alliance founded and lead by me and about 5 RL friends. We grew to, at most, 40 members, 15 or so being RL friends of mine. I was a co-founder and head of FA. This is where a created many of my friends in the game. It was a solid alliance and a lot of fun, but we were forced to end the run because of a silly alliance war that got out of hand.

In my time in POSA however, Caesar833 and I had an idea to create a bloc. Many of you may remember OFFSPRING. I helped found that bloc, made up of, in its peak, 15 small alliances that totaled over 1M nation. Had we merged, at that time, we would have been very close to a sanctioned alliance. The merge talks never got anywhere and the bloc broke up. We had many months together before the end.

After POSA, I joined ALMEA. I took the MoFA position there as well, but hated it. My motivation for the game as a whole dwindled there, and I was inactive. I left right about the time you guys in NATO destroyed them. I hated my time there.

I became a none nation/drifter for awhile at this point, but finally started my second stint of POSA. Caesar833 and I started it back up and we did alright. Never got to a high enough member count though and he merged into Illuminati, and I joined The Revolution.

Ill spare you the details of tR that you already know, but I instantly became the MoFA there, and after kicking out other leadership for stupid mistakes, I took the role of Elder Arch.

I still lead the FA department and I am loving my time there. I have great fellow leaders, one being a personal favorite from the POSA days, and we are succeeding. tR is just under 100 members and 1M nation strength.

As for my topic, I haven't really chosen one but feel free to ask anything, especially dealing with FA.

I know most of you and look forward to these discussions!

I see you have made your way around pretty well in CN, being a leader in a few different alliances. As a FA person (from the looks of your previous post) please explain your perception of MDP/MADP blocks and good ways to build strong relations with your treaty partners.

Knowing your recent past and how you handled a very delicate situation, I applaud you for how you handled yourself and your alliance.

what do you say the key is to creating more particiaption in an alliance? How do you keep your members actively engaged?

Well from what I was a part of in OFFSPRING, which was more or less an oDoAP Bloc, they take a lot of organization. Also, they take many good members from each alliance communicating. We had a forum dedicated to leaders of OS alliances and it just was not enough. Also, as we had 15 small alliances at one point, I learned that a few great friends is better then many good friends. If all that is covered, then a bloc can be a great way to prosper, and have fun in.

As for the treaty partner question, if I have a treaty with them, it means we have strong relations already. Ill take your question to mean strongER relations. There are many ways to build better realtions, starting with the simple post in an embassy every so often. Sure its not a lot of work and is very open, but it shows you are thinking of them. Things like this also build better relations. IRC conversations help as well. As for in game, if treaty partners can set up inter alliance trades or tech deals, that is the best way to know your partner better, while helping each other out.

Active members is the hardest part...well second hardest to recruiting in my opinion. I have personally gotten members involved in many ways. I brought a member of POSA to tR with me and saw him floating around the forums. I knew he was a good guy, and I gave him a job to do. He completed it and after my begging, he ran and won a gov position and is know on the council of tR. So I think the best way to get someone involved is to get them a job. A purpose for coming on the forum and game everyday.

War of course can be something that gets members involved as well, but not something to work for. When it did come up for us, I did see a more active forum however.

Welcome to the conference Golden Boy!

tR, to me, is an example of how a viceroyship can go right. Is there anything you and your government did to make it got well?

I agree. Not many viceroyships are good things but for us this was.

The main thing I tried to do during the little over a months time was to stay in constant contact with either my NATO viceroy, DK or Pansy, or my MHA overseers, WCR or Denzin. As there were many mistakes made in the past, I figured the more they knew of what I and tR was doing, the less chance of something happening again. Not only did that communication probably settle the governments of NATO and MHA down a little, but it also led to the betterment of not only myself as a leader, but my alliance through all their advice.

My government was also very aware of the terms, and constantly made sure our members were following them.

I think the best part of the months time, was the basic member of tR not entirely knowing they had someone else in charge. They knew the terms, but thankfully, at least in my opinion, neither NATO or MHA were over controlling and in our face. The transition from us being under these terms to being free was really smooth because the general public of tR saw no change.

It was a very successful Viceroyship and tR will always be in MHA and NATO's debt. But we will also always be there friends, which is the more important factor.
