But usually forum members are more comfortable with one thread per forum. Whenever someone posts in one thread, it overlaps another in the same forum on the main page. I myself am usually too lazy to click the forum and go find the thread.

Not only laziness, but some people may forget about a thread or not be aware that someone replied to their post if it's overlapped by another, more active one.

FUN FACT:

I was just Googling around some Asimov stuff, and apparently a lot of people REALLY, REALLY hated the I, Robot movie.

Poor Will Smith.

What was wrong with I Robot?
Wasn't perfect, but it was in no way whatsoever a BAD movie. Average at minimum.

It was ok... but the human brain is so complex we have to idea how it works. The movie was based on the building of a super brain with the ability to have thoughts. That technology is s far in the future we won't see anything near that complex in the next 500 years at least by the pace that we're moving now... and we're moving at a fast pace

Who cares, I thought it was a great movie. It was pretty funny at some points too. You just see him grab the cat and run away from his collapsing house....lol And the cat is in his trunk for like a few hours.

SEVERAL FUN FACTS:

Nononono, guys. The reason it seems to be unanimously hated by all Asimov fans is for two reasons:

1) It claims to be I, Robot when the only similarities between the movie and the original book were:
-the title
-the name of one character was the same.

Some say if they had named it something different and not claimed to have been an adaptation of Asimov's robot stories, they wouldn't of gotten their hopes up. Seems pretty obvious that the director just claimed it was an adaptation to boost sales.

2) Isaac Asimov, before he died in 1992, hated sci-fi movies. He's one of the most famous and ground-breaking sci-fi novel writers of all time, and he hated sci-fi movies. He firmly believed that people only saw (and made) sci-fi movies for the special effects, the explosions, the violence, and the action. He's pretty much right, I'd say. He thought sci-fi movies were a disgrace to the genre.

So what did they do right after Asimov died? Took his story and made it into a movie with all that stuff he hated. The novel I, Robot, I've heard, didn't have all this action and killing that the movie did.

Seriously, way to go pissing on an author's grave there, movie producers.

Wasn't that the same deal that happened with I Am Legend? they completely cut out the psychological aspect of the book, and threw in useless violence and effects.
However, I can see why it would be hated by fans. However, while it is a poor transition from book to movie, the movie itself is great in its own right. Much like the Transformers movie, or I Am Legend. I also believe Disturbia was another one of these examples, but I have yet to read the actual book.

I hate idiotic fans who, despite the movie/show, etc. being great, still attack it for not being 100% like the book. If the adaption is good in its own right, I see no reason to attack it. I can understand the Harry Potter movies or that upcoming Dragon Ball Z movie, since the Harry potter movies are fairly bad, and the DBZ movie is destined for failure.

How could you stand reading the last book?
I read halfway into it and gave up. It was like a bad fan fiction.
