Your daily dose of beautiful

This place was one of so many bad memories, the hardwood floors causing the room to echo with hurtful words and feelings of anger. Today she just felt broken, and the only way she could think to fix herself is to clear the demons from this room. Her eyes turned to the grand piano longfully, she couldn't play so she had to settle for a CD of the music she needed. Her left hand carried a portable stereo, she wasn't sure if there was one here, her right arm hanging limply beside her. She was sure there was infection. She'd have to go to the nurse if this kept up.Her hair was halfway pulled up, the top pushed back and braided down her back while the bottom half hung free. She wore a simple, white sundress with large, brown flowers printed on it. A brown ribbon tied around her waist lightly. Her white sandals glittered slightly in the sunlight that poured through the windows. She moved towards the stage slowly, the long, red slice from the top of her shoulder to her shoulderblade easily visible. It was a vicious red, threatening to bleed at any moment or any wrong move. She paid it no heed as she moved towards where the piano sat. Up the stairs and setting the stereo down. Her finger moved towards the play button and she glanced around before sighing softly. This place housed too many bad memories, it was time for her to clear the proverbial air and rid this place of the ghosts it held for her. As the piano on the cd began to play, soft and almost sad. "When the rain is blowing in your face. And the whole world is on your case. I could offer you a warm embrace.... to make you feel my love. When the evening shadows and the stars appear... and there is no one there to dry your tears. I could hold you for a million years... to make you feel my love." Her voice wasn't star quality, a mixture of soft alto and bright soprano wasn't something that was often called upon in any choir. She wasn't of either side, somewhere in the middle that allowed her voice to travel with little breath. She wasn't amazing, that was sure, but she pulled it off well enough. She turned as the first verse ended, looking around the empty room and hugging her right arm with the left. Her breathing was easy to hear in the emptiness, the shudder of pain that rippled through the limb. Damion sitting beside her, still in the small form that he despised until his own shoulder healed. His fared far better then hers did... but she was known to take better care of Damion then herself. "I know you haven't made your mind up yet.... but I would never do you wrong. I've known it from the moment that we met, no doubt in my mind where you belong." She continued with a firm but emotional tone, her eyes half closing as she looked towards the curtain to her right, one half of her lips twitching up in a smile. "I'd go hungry... I'd go black and blue. I'd go crawling down the avenue. Know there's nothing that I wouldn't do to make you feel my love." She looked around, trying to make sure she was here alone, as far as she could see... she was. That was good. She didn't think anyone would want to hear her terrible singing. Damion mewled as the piano coming from the speakers brought the interlude to a close. Her eyes grew hard for a moment, this was the hardest of the verses approaching, the one that hit her hardest. "The storms are raging on the rolling sea.... and on the highway of regret. The winds of change are blowing wild and free. You ain't seen nothing like me yet. I could make you happy, make your dreams come true. Nothing that I wouldn't do. Go to the ends of the Earth for you. To make you feel my love." she bit her lower lip, a few notes striking the piano on the recording before she inhaled slowly. The last notes were sad and soulful. "To make you feel my love~" She turned slowly, hair fluttering away from the wound with teh movement. As she moved her arm twitched and she gripped it tightly, closing her eyes and gritting her teeth together. Her stubborn pride, trying to show her father up... it was all going to be for nothing if she didn't take care of this infection. But it was not something she could easily reach. Her left hand moved, one finger pressing the stop button on the player and she looked around the room. She hadn't dispelled all the darkness that clouded this room, but the sunlight was brighter in her opinion. She smiled slowly and looked to Damion. "All the ghosts that haunt us here aren't gone, but I think we'll get there." She spoke gently, sitting on the bench and lifting her familiar to check his stitches.
