Cautiously silent footsteps approach the destination with a clear lack of haste. Emerald had pondered on the same thought ever since the incident in the Auditorium. Being there, engulfing herself in the situation that had taken fold, she had almost felt out of place in several aspects. Was it right for her to claim a friend through another? She didn’t think so. She could not label someone as such without some kind of specification. Emerald shook her head, dark hair falling out of place slightly with each sharp movement. It barely made sense as she tried to secure it to a natural thought process. She stopped, shifting on a heel to turn away again.

She stopped again. Perhaps this girl would understand her motives. She had to, at the very least, trust that she would receive a listening ear for her timely concern.

Emerald propped herself up after an outward sigh, feeling herself overreacting to her worries. She would not mind. The Nightstar girl reached over, curling her hand into a fist before allowing her knuckles to touch down on the wood of her door. “Stella, are you in?” She asked.

Come at Me, Bro!
The room shared by Stella and Lucas had become almost as cold as the arctic since their fight. Stella no long even attempted to draw him into conversation; he had made it clear, in her mind anyway, that he was not interested in trying to salvage their friendship. Whatever she had done, or whatever he seemed to think she had done, appeared to be something that there was no redemption from.

Still, she would not be forced from her own room and so was curled up in a chair texting Louis in an attempt to cheer herself up when someone knocked on the door. Given who it had been the last time she'd had a visitor, the star girl waited for a moment before climbing out of her chair and padding across the carpet, bare foot.

“Stella, are you in?”

The slightly apprehensive expression faded and with a sigh of relief she opened the door for the dark haired girl. "Emerald!" she smiled, then automatically looked for Amber. No, it did not occur to her that Emerald would visit alone. "Please, come in," Stella continued, once she had realised that Amber was not present. "It's so nice to see you."

"Emerald!"

It was always nice to be greeted so brightly, as her tone of voice and smile coloured the moment cheerfully. Emerald had always enjoyed what time they had spent together for that reason. But she watched as the girl's eyes shifted from her own and to other spaces in the hall. Amber had not been with her, but the Nightstar girl supposed that she understood why Stella might assume as much. It did tug at her though. That was one of the reasons she was here.

"Please, come in. It's so nice to see you."

"Thank you." She said vividly, turning back any self doubt that she might have carried from her own previous notions. She entered the room, straight away seeing and almost feeling how divided the space was. Emerald was not one to know how it worked with a roommate given that she had spent all her time at the school alone, but this didn't seem like the shared space it was supposed to be. "It's nice to see you, too. I wondered how you were feeling after what happened." She wondered; they hadn't talked about it much afterwards when they left the school grounds, as it hadn't seemed fitting for the situation to dwell on it.

Emerald looked to the side she could only assume was his. "It must be difficult sleeping so close to someone who acts in such a way." Was all she would say. After all, a part of her was still hoping they would find a resolution to their relationship. It had been a kind of beacon of hope that at least someone was getting it right. Maybe that was selfish.

"It's nice to see you, too. I wondered how you were feeling after what happened."

Stella's smile drooped slightly, and she worried her lip before realizing what she was doing and forcing herself to stop. Still, that slight movement managed to express that the past events were still troubling her, even if she tried to shrug it off. "I'm fine," she insisted, and would have insisted no matter who asked. The star girl managed to give a smile to back up her assertion. "It's a bit awkward, true, but, well," Stella shook her head helplessly, then dragged over another chair for Emerald. "I don't have nice tea like Amber, but I can offer you some juice?"

"It must be difficult sleeping so close to someone who acts in such a way."

Again, the tiniest quiver of the mouth gave her away as Stella glanced towards Lucas's side of the room. It was strange, having to think that way. They'd always just sort of... shared it. "I don't mind what he does," she finally said quickly, opening the little fridge and fetching two glasses. "If he wants to act like that, there isn't much I can do. I," she almost fumbled with the glassware and caught herself, wincing apologetically at Emerald. "It would be easier if I knew why he was so angry, but I tried to find out.." And Emerald would know how well that turned out. "At least Zxaine doesn't come by while I'm here any more." she added, trying to look on the bright side.

Hoping to change the subject, Stella set Emerald's glass down and sank into her seat. "I don't mean to ramble on. How're you? she asked, and then, because, well, there had to be a reason Emerald had come by, surely?

Emerald watched her smile falter at her question; still not good, she took it. Well, she couldn't have hoped for anything more at this stage. But her determination was strong enough that she felt the need to force the topic out of her mind. She tried so desperately, but Emerald had to wonder if part of the star girl still clung to the idea that things were going to work out between her and her roommate. If for friendship at the least. She spoke about him and the whole situation with a level of maturity that most others wouldn't understand. Emerald knew only one real way to deal with someone who would hurt her so.

"At least Zxaine doesn't come by while I'm here any more."

Her eyes flickered that familiar darkening suddenly, eyebrow twitching slightly at the name mentioned. "No, I suspected she wouldn't." Emerald said. Not after what had happened. That was a relief. She moved closer into the room, rounding to a nearby seat before finally taking it.

"I don't mean to ramble on. How're you?"

"Good, all things considered. I worry about Amber everyday, but I guess that's to be expected." Emerald replied initially, chuckling lightly as her hand reached over to rest near the glass. She touched a finger to the glass, idly causing the condensation on the outer side to chill over. "I suppose I did come here for a reason," The violet eyed teen paused for a moment, turning her glance away, "I wanted to check. I hope you didn't find it strange that I was a part of what happened the other day. Or uncomfortable. We were just walking by when I heard-" She stopped, "-I hear things quite well, and I had thought you might be in trouble. I wanted to make sure that Amber got to be there for you just in case." She paused again, wondering if it made any sense where she was trying to go with all this.

"I wasn't sure how to feel about being there, I think. You are both close friends, and I wondered if I should have left the two of you." Emerald had said, now completely sure that her words were making no sense, even to herself.

"Good, all things considered. I worry about Amber everyday, but I guess that's to be expected."

Clearly, this was not expected by everyone. Stella gave Emerald a questioning look, asking for elaboration. Should she be worrying about her winged friend? Well, she was now, after a statement like that. "Is she not well?" Stella guessed, remembering how tired and thin the blonde girl had been looking and inwardly ashamed that she had not yet found the nerve to ask Amber herself what was wrong.

She watching Emerald's glass frost over and smiled slightly. That was one way to cool down a drink.

"I suppose I did come here for a reason, I wanted to check. I hope you didn't find it strange that I was a part of what happened the other day. Or uncomfortable. We were just walking by when I heard-" "

Stella's face flushed slightly and she too directed her eyes elsewhere. All that yelling and confusion... to the somewhat reserved girl, such a thing could only make her feel ashamed and embarrassed at her own lack of control. She honestly felt sorry Emerald had had to listen to such a spectacle.

"-I hear things quite well, and I had thought you might be in trouble. I wanted to make sure that Amber got to be there for you just in case. I wasn't sure how to feel about being there, I think. You are both close friends, and I wondered if I should have left the two of you."

"I," Stella started, then sighed slightly and looked up sheepishly, "I was very grateful you were there." And could it be there was a hint at an understanding in her voice? Was it possible that on some level Stella understood just what such a scene could cause her winged friend to do? It was unclear. "I was, I mean, I was unsure if you wanted to be there," she went on, wide eyed and smiling a little at the absurdity. "I mean, I know we, we are only just becoming acquainted, but," she gestured with one small hand to the dark haired girl, clearly more than a little nervous. She had thought that her presence was the one that could be construed as bothersome. "You are someone I would feel very lucky to be able to call a friend, Emerald."

"Is she not well?"

Emerald raised a hand quickly, waving it before her face a few times as if to wash the ill feelings away. If Amber even wanted to tell her the story, that would be on her own terms; the assassin would not take that from her. "I'm a worrier." She said. "I can't help it anymore. She's done nothing wrong, and nothing has happened to her, but she still rarely sleeps at night and it takes its toll on her days. So I worry." Emerald smiled at her own resolution; there had been a time where she was still new to the concept of worrying for another so strongly. She retrieved her Aeon and tapped along a few quick words to her friend.

[Amber: Hope you're well today :)]

"I was very grateful you were there."

"Oh-" She had responded subconsciously before being able to stop herself. Grateful for her to be there? This was surprising, as Emerald had convinced herself for the most part that she should have left.

"You are someone I would feel very lucky to be able to call a friend, Emerald."

Violet eyes went wide at the notion that another person in this place actually wanted to give her that label. With Mazohyst, it had simply formed into such a thing through knowing Amber and an undetermined understanding for the others practice. With Amber, it was much the same. They had met in darker forms with motivations more shadowed than Emerald would like to admit. To make a friend with no outward response to violence was strange. "You- Really?" She asked, knowing that Stella would not be the kind to make jokes on this level.

She did know her, though that was because everyone did. "I thought it might have seemed strange to call the friend of my friend a friend so quickly." She admitted. "But just as I worry about Amber, I suppose I felt compelled to worry about you too. I thought you might see it as strange." Emerald shrugged lightly, holding of the glass before her and taking a small drink to wash down any remainders of self doubt. "Another person might have handled that situation you were in differently. Left them to their devices, or otherwise." Her response would readily call into the otherwise. Stella's control was something to aspire to. "You're a very strong individual, Stella. I believe it's important that you know it." She said finally. Emerald had to wonder if she would find her comment completely out of left field with no basis to the conversation.

"I'm a worrier. I can't help it anymore. She's done nothing wrong, and nothing has happened to her, but she still rarely sleeps at night and it takes its toll on her days. So I worry."

Frowning slightly, Stella nodded and sipped her apple juice. That explained why Amber looked so tired... Maybe Stella would go visit in the evening. She didn't sleep much either, though that had always been the case as long as she could remember. Stella felt at her best at night, it seemed a shame to waste that time on sleep.

Emerald seemed honestly shocked at Stella's comments and beneath her bone white hair, she blushed a little. Too direct?

"I thought it might have seemed strange to call the friend of my friend a friend so quickly."

That took an instant to decode and after she had, Stella shrugged. Maybe, but given how many people Stella actually spoke to, she felt that Emerald had sort of already qualified herself. Emerald's quiet composure and the way she seemed to radiate a sense of calm and inner strength was, to Stella, as awe inspiring as Amber's ability to be both calm and sweet and intimidating on cue.

"But just as I worry about Amber, I suppose I felt compelled to worry about you too. I thought you might see it as strange."

Stella sighed and looked into her glass. People seemed to feel like that a lot about her and she took it to assume that she gave no sign of being able to look after herself. "Only a little," she said wearily, looking up again with a resigned expression. "I mean, not to be rude, but it's something most people I talk to seem to feel" It was that or, apparently for some girls, extreme anger.

. "Another person might have handled that situation you were in differently. Left them to their devices, or otherwise. You're a very strong individual, Stella. I believe it's important that you know it."

That did seem strange! Stella looked at Emerald in suprise, thenseemed to glow slightly at the compliment. "I hate making a scene," she confessed, "I am not sure that counts as strengh, but, thank you," She was getting better at taking a compliment, it seemed, even if she found it hard to believe someone like Emerald found her strong. "I would like us to be friends, if, if that is want you want," she said suddenly, ducking her head after and pressed her lips together. "You're a very admirable person. And Amber has excellent taste in people." A slight joke to defuse the seriousness of her previous, rather abrupt statment.

"Only a little. I mean, not to be rude, but it's something most people I talk to seem to feel."

"It's not a bad thing. Far from it, in fact." Emerald said quickly, worrying for a moment that she had said something to upset the girl. Whatever was behind it was beyond her comprehension, it seemed. It had always been a good thing when someone cared enough about you to act like that. If Emerald was ever unsure on the behaviour of most humans, this was the one thing she could wholeheartedly understand. "My experience is that it isn't a reflection on the person to worry and protect, but more a reflection on the person who feels compelled to act that way." She hung her head slightly to the side, looking to her hands. "I feel the compulsion to look after Amber, though she does not need it." She said, hoping that comparison was enough to get her point across.

"I hate making a scene. I am not sure that counts as strength, but, thank you."

"Strength comes in many forms and colours. It has little to do with physical attributes like most would believe." Emerald said, opting not to give further explanation.

"I would like us to be friends, if, if that is want you want. You're a very admirable person. And Amber has excellent taste in people."

An admirable person? Emerald took the comment to heart in the best possible way, though she might have not agreed with it completely. "Thank you. I would like that." She said after a decent pause, smiling warmly at the sentiment. "If you ever need somewhere to go to get away from all this," She began, motioning towards the other side of the room, "I don't have a roommate. It's a space you could borrow at your convenience. I know you don't want to be forced out of your own living quarters, but the option is there if you ever need to get away for a while." She could make it a kind of temporary living space for the star girl if she wished to take her up on the offer. Company was always a good thing.

"Are you worried about your own strength?" She asked then, wondering if it would seem strange. But Emerald had mused on the idea ever since their first encounter. "It's nothing you have done. My eyes pick up on movements and motions that most would not see." She felt the slight need to explain that she had noticed enough to question this through her own devices, rather than hearing anything from others. "Perhaps that's why I have acquired... murder eyes?" Emerald laughed slightly at the words, proving that at least in part she was moving on from the insult.

"Thank you. I would like that."

The slightly nervous edge faded from Stella's smile and the blue of her eyes brightned in a direct reflection of her mood. That was wonderful news, and more than a little relieving.

"If you ever need somewhere to go to get away from all this, I don't have a roommate. It's a space you could borrow at your convenience. I know you don't want to be forced out of your own living quarters, but the option is there if you ever need to get away for a while."

"Really? That would be ok?" Stella blurted, then coloured and raised a hand to her mouth before laughing a little sheepishly. "I would, that would be wonderful." The gratitude in her voice was strong enough to reveal that she had been finding the living arrangments more difficult then she was willing to let on. "I think a part of me is only refusing to move out of pig headedness," she confessed after a moment, looking towards Lucas's side with a small pucker between her eyebrows. "A bit childish, I know, but I have very fond memories here, even if recently it has soured a little.

"Are you worried about your own strength? It's nothing you have done. My eyes pick up on movements and motions that most would not see."

Stella nodded mutely, but didn't elaborate. Baby steps, after all, as much as the quiet girl admired Emerald, it would take time before she was willing to start discussing the growing awareness that she was sll too often a damsel in distress.

"Perhaps that's why I have acquired... murder eyes?"

A giggle escaped before Stella could catch it, though at hearing Emerald laugh herself Stella let herself laugh a little louder. "you have lovely eyes," she insisted, still smiling. "At least you don't have to look foward to a weekend of someone trying to dye your hair!" Why white was so bad compared to black, brown, or even teal was beyond her. "You don't.. you don't think those are really going to keep us from finding people to love us, do you?" Stella tried to hide the apprehension in her voice, though bit her lip slightly as she glancing at Emerald. After all, Ayeka was married.

"At least you don't have to look forward to a weekend of someone trying to dye your hair!"

"She doesn't exactly have the most orthodox hair colour herself. I wonder what would happen if someone pointed that out to her?" Emerald mused, clearly not daring to do such a thing if she wanted to keep her own sanity. Imagine the lecture that would fall from Ayeka if either of them ever questioned her outlandish hair colour? Not that strange colours of hair were abnormal in this sense, but she did tend to go on about Stella's as though it were a level above that. She would never understand the workings of that woman's mind.

"You don't.. you don't think those are really going to keep us from finding people to love us, do you?"

This was a topic they were both mildly concerned by. Ayeka's advice had given them information about themselves that they had never thought to be a problem. As far as Emerald knew from what Amber had told her, Stella had never had an issue with finding love. She had found it, but then lost it again. She wanted to say that her hair didn't seem to bother others, but she held her tongue on a matter that had nothing to do with her. "It doesn't seem to bother the boy in Amber's eyes." She said, not entirely sure if Stella knew who he was. "And I doubt you would ever fall for someone foolish enough to leave you for the colour of your hair. If they chose for it to be a problem, they don't deserve you... As cliche as that might sound." She had said.

A pause, and within that a light sigh. "As for myself, I don't know. If it comes, it will come. If it doesn't then I suppose I will never know what I missed." Emerald said; what a daunting way to look at the concept of love. In truth, she never saw it in her future. The only boy she had ever been remotely close to was Darrien, and the Nightstar girl seemed to doubt that anything would ever come from that.

"She doesn't exactly have the most orthodox hair colour herself. I wonder what would happen if someone pointed that out to her?"

Laughing again, Stella looked up and shook her head. Who would have the nerve to tell Ayeka some of her advice, maybe, was a little hypocritical? Not her, and from way Amber and Emerald seemed to find her just as intimidating as Stella did, not them either. "That's what I try to tell myself," Stella said, her voice still light with humor. "I'll have to tell you what colour she thinks my hair should be. Maybe she's leaning towards purple, or blue." Trying to picture it just made her laugh again; maybe she could have rainbow hair like Emerald's friend Darrien. Though how that would help her find love any more than white hair she really had no idea,

. "It doesn't seem to bother the boy in Amber's eyes."

"Amber has a boy in her eyes?" Stella asked, leaning forward and then shaking her head as her words jumbled up. "I mean, there's a boy?" The realisation dawned on her face and Stella smiled for her winged friend. "Of course, is that why she asked me to talk to her about," remembering that meeting and how it turned out, she laughed once again at the pure insanity that had unfolded, "she was not sure of her feelings?"

"And I doubt you would ever fall for someone foolish enough to leave you for the colour of your hair. If they chose for it to be a problem, they don't deserve you... As cliche as that might sound."

Blushing slightly, she ducked her head slightly and smiled shyly at Emerald. "That's.. thank you. I mean, it goes without saying that it would take a very undesirable person to be turned away by your eyes. They really are very nice. I don't think I know what murder eyes is supposed to mean anyway." She frowned slightly and took another sip of juice, tapping her finger on the rim of the glass.

. "As for myself, I don't know. If it comes, it will come. If it doesn't then I suppose I will never know what I missed."

Looking up, Stella could only glance at the dark haired girl in saddened suprise. "It comes to everyone, or at least, it's supposed to," she suggested, sighing. It felt like that sometimes though, still, her mind still on the theatrics of Amber's quest to learn about Love, something occured to her. "You did, I mean, you were very good when Ayeka had you do that demonstration," she said carefully, smiling. "With Darrien, wasn't it?"

"It comes to everyone, or at least, it's supposed to,"

Emerald had to wonder if it was so strange not to live for love. She felt as though in part she had no reason to; she had never understood the feeling and the excitement behind it. Though, upon coming to the school she learned how beautiful it was. She wished she could tell Stella how much she was inspired by the notion of her perfect relationship with her roommate, but alas, that was information she would have to keep to itself it seemed. But hearing of how their love formed, how it grew, and watching them together gave her some small hope that it could happen for people. Maybe even herself.

"You did, I mean, you were very good when Ayeka had you do that demonstration. With Darrien, wasn't it?"

Even she could not help the small sigh that escaped her lips at the mention of his name. Why would she do that? What feelings were coursing through her head at his mention? “Really, I was just copying him.” She said initially, which in truth was the main stint of her actions. “But I would be lying if I said that a part of me didn’t enjoy it. I’ll admit that I don’t understand all that much about how people react to others, so I can never tell if he’s being serious with me or if he’s pretending so he can tease me.” She mentioned the way he always used to act around her. Thankfully, she had at least somewhat learned to deal with it in a manner that didn't involve her freezing up and getting wildly confused.

“I’ve never seen love in my future though. I never saw friendship either until I came here and met the people I have. So maybe I’ll be surprised again. With Darrien, though? I’m not so sure. I don’t think he’d be so interested in someone like me.” She paused; not wanting her life to sound outwardly tragic for no reason.

“Really, I was just copying him.”

Stella's eyebrows went up but she quickly neutralized her expression. She must have made a mistake in thinking Emerald was taking the lead a little, which would make sense. By the time the demonstration had been underway, the star girl had been totally lost as to who exactly she was supposed to listen to and what exactly she was supposed to actually do with the knowledge.

“But I would be lying if I said that a part of me didn’t enjoy it. I’ll admit that I don’t understand all that much about how people react to others, so I can never tell if he’s being serious with me or if he’s pretending so he can tease me.”

It was a hard thing to guess... "It could be both," she said slowly, then shook her head and shrugged helplessly. "I'm no help there, people confuse me on a daily basis. But he seemed to be enjoying himself too," smiling over the rim of her glass, Stella raised a hand to run her thumb over her pendant. It was true, that was the impression she had had, but what if she was wrong? Maybe she shouldn't have said anything...

“I’ve never seen love in my future though. I never saw friendship either until I came here and met the people I have. So maybe I’ll be surprised again. With Darrien, though? I’m not so sure. I don’t think he’d be so interested in someone like me.”

"Someone like you?" Stella repeated, making a question out of the statement. "Forgive me but, why not? I mean, I don't really know, that is," she cleared her throat as the slight nervousness she felt tripped up her words and sent them sprawling. "I mean, before I came here I'd never met anyone my own age before so, so I don't have a lot of, of experience, but," she shrugged again because truthfully Stella had never really counted on, or expected, love in her future either. When she was little there were books with princes saving princesses from towers but how did he know you were trapped if no one even knew you were there? "Do you want it, though?" she asked after a moment. "I think that's the most important thing."

"Forgive me but, why not?"

Had she wanted to, Emerald could still not give the answer. She had never openly told anyone why; Amber had simply stumbled into her world by chance one night. There had been an accepting from then.

"Do you want it, though? I think that's the most important thing."

Was it a matter of wanting? Emerald was not sure if she ever even got the chance to think of such a thing. So she had to ponder on it for a small while, for risk of her answer simply being that she didn't know. Because at the time of asking she didn't. Emerald had never thought of herself as a being deserving of such a thing, or that it would ever truly fit into her life in a good way. The only person she would ever think to accept her ways were Mazohyst and Amber, and they were slowly becoming invested in each other. There was that strange feeling in the bit of her stomach; the fear of abandonment.

"I don't think that's a question I can answer yet. I, for the moment, believe my life would be as it is now if I never had it. In later years I might grow to be lonely and seek refuge in another. But here and now, the most important thing is that I can do that with the friends I have made here. If a relationship would form beyond that, well, I suppose I wouldn't say no." This was so sudden, the way they were speaking on the matter. Emerald could not even be sure she had spoken to Amber in such lengths about the topic as she had been now. "What about you? Do you want it?" She asked, turning the question back on the star girl in curiosity.

During the silence, Stella concentrated on her glass (which was nearly empty by now) and what she thought of with love. It was not a train of thought that went very far with her. She had affection for her friends, and perhaps curiosity. No, no, most assuredly curiosity, the awareness that she was missing something and wanting to find out what it was. And how it managed to make people act so strangely and do things so against their character... her mouth twisted as she shrugged that off.

"I don't think that's a question I can answer yet. I, for the moment, believe my life would be as it is now if I never had it. In later years I might grow to be lonely and seek refuge in another. But here and now, the most important thing is that I can do that with the friends I have made here. If a relationship would form beyond that, well, I suppose I wouldn't say no."

Stella nodded, also feeling a little surprised at how deep their conversation was getting, was looking down at the table with a thoughtful expression. A relief from loneliness she could understand, though the star girl could admit to having never really understood what loneliness was until she'd moved here and realized what it was like to have people her own age to care about and talk to. But would she want go through the drama? She'd only seen the outside of a relationship that she had thought was actually very healthy and nice and it had turned into a painful dramatic mess.

"What about you? Do you want it?"

White teeth worried at her lower lip until it grew dark pink, Stella did not answer for a few moments. Kudo had described it, so had Rena, and Ayeka had talked more about finding a husband then about actual love. Darrien and Emerald seemed to be having fun but talking about it seemed to just make Emerald look worried and concerned. "It seems to make people unhappy," she said after a moment, thinking of the auditorium, and of how someone she had considered a good friend had stared at her like she was a stranger, or worse. "It seems to make people confused and angry and unhappy." Finally she looked up, the corner of her mouth twitching up. "Too confusing," she said finally and took a deep breath. "I don't think that's for me."

A frown had formed on the Nightstar girl's mouth; it was such a shame to hear words like that from someone who was once so in love. Now to think it would make her so unhappy instead of so joyous and bright was difficult for her to manage. After a moment, the turn of her lips had changed back to normal; she didn't want Stella to think she was for some reason disagreeing with her words.

"Too confusing. I don't think that's for me."

Never say never. "Maybe when you're older." Emerald said, her voice trailing to nothing for a moment as she looked to connect her stoic violet orbs with the cobalt ones of her friends. She wanted to give the girl something for her worries; a piece of information or a story or something like that. But she had nothing to give. None of her memories shadowed anything bright enough to bring the spark back into her eyes. "I once knew a couple." She began, turning her gaze to the side as she picked up the glass and took another drink. "People would often joke that they were attached to the hip. But they were so desperately in love; so beautiful together. You could almost feel how they lived for each other, even at a distance. Igniting fire within the other's heart. And they were young." She turned her gaze back to her for a moment, placing the glass down. "It gave me hope that it worked for some, and it was worth fighting for." She added lightly.

"If you are content to leave yourself open to the option, so will I." She mused on the idea of the pact, as somewhat of a novelty more than anything else. "Maybe one day."

"Maybe when you're older."

Stella laughed softly, smiling. "Maybe," she allowed, because while she felt doubtful of the fact, she was never going to claim to know or predict the future. Besides, it wasn't in her nature to disagree or contradict people, especially her friends. Looking up, Stella met Emerald's distinctively not murder eyes and again, smiled slightly. It was perhaps not bright enough, more hopeful than joyful, but then a happy expression did not really follow what she had just said.

Musing, the star girl twisted her fingers in her hair and tilted her head, letting the story wash over her. That did sound lovely, it sounded perfect. But Stella couldn't imagine what it would feel like to have her heart ignite, or how she could bring that out of another person. And the way Emerald ended.. she had 'once known'. She was tempted to ask if they had had a happy ending, but then chose to remain mute. It seemed better not to know, and to let herself believe that sort of thing did still happen. "I'll try to remember that, so it can give me hope too," she decided, wanting Emerald to know how much she appreciated the girl's efforts.

"If you are content to leave yourself open to the option, so will I...Maybe one day."

Well if that was the option, Stella didn't really see it as having a choice. Let her own ideas objections of romance and love hold someone else back too? She sighed and finally nodded her agreement, the lighter side of the situation dawning on her. "It is a deal," she promised, and promised herself that she would at least try, for her friend, to look for positives. "I do not think moving with haste is necessary either. We can wait and see."

The star girl rose to her feet, aware of the empty glassware and feeling oddly drained after such an intense conversation. "More juice?"

"It is a deal,"

A small chuckle fell from Emerald now smiling lips as she said that. Her violet eyes were bright with the hope they had both more or less given each other. This was nice; a friendship where she could, for a moment, forget the darkness that would call to her heart and soul in the dead of night. Ever since her endeavor overseas, it held her ear like a threat to her mind.

Revenge over the fallen. Anyone would do.

"I do not think moving with haste is necessary either. We can wait and see."

She snapped back into reality there and then, having been unable to tear her gaze from the table in front of her for a few moments after Stella had started talking. Emerald hoped she didn't realise, or that she simply thought the girl was just deep in thought for other, more partial reasons. She watched her stand, turning to offer Emerald another drink. She raised her hand in a motion to decline, before standing up to meet the star girl. "I should really go. I've taken up so much of your time." Emerald had said, half knowing that it wouldn't be an issue for her.

Nevertheless, a lingering sensation in her form told her not to just yet. Or at least go with something in the world for her. She reached over, taking hold of her hand lightly while maintaining eye contact. Good thing she saw things quite well. Emerald gave a gentle squeeze an her warmest smile. "We should stay willing. It may find us when we least expect it." She ended the notion with the an amused sound from her mouth, allowing the girl's hand to gently slip from her grasp. Her hand collected her friend's Aeon from the table, pressing a few digits into the device quickly before looking back to her.

"Call me if you ever want to talk or to stay over. I'll enjoy your company." Emerald mused, shining words from her now joyous form. After handing the device back to her, she turned to leave the room.

"I should really go. I've taken up so much of your time."

Stella glanced around, confused as to what else exactly she was supposed to be doing with her time that would suffer from Emerald taking any more of it. Still, it seemed very likely that the violet eyed girl did actually have demands on her free time and so Stella nodded and picked up the empty glasses to put in the sink. "I've enjoyed it," she said honestly, "I really have." Her eyes dropped slightly as she came back to the table, though she did manage to smile again and press Emerald's hand gently in return.

"We should stay willing. It may find us when we least expect it."

She watched Emerald tap at her phone and picked it up to see what her new friend had done, before smiling in thanks and tucking it on her bed. "It may," she allowed, and then sighed and tried again. With feeling this time. "I hope so." For your sake. Stella still felt that love was something that could cause a lot of anguish, but if Emerald was willing to try then she had said she wouldn't give up. That was a start at least.

"Call me if you ever want to talk or to stay over. I'll enjoy your company."

That was something to smile brightly about. A new friend. "I will, I promise," Stella said earnestly, walking over to open the door for Emerald. "Thank you for coming by, and for, for talking to me. I'll see you soon."
