Administration Building.

Time: 2:48am

“I have something to tell you...”

“Not now,” Amaya replies, “I’m very busy here.”

”It’s important.”

------

Forest of Itami.

Time: 3:12am

The air is thick with fog which blankets the crisp grass as she walks. Her breath calls for its own mist upon each exhale. The darkly clad teacher ventures deep into the forest; further inward than most students had ever dared to go, and with good reason. The canopy of treetops overhead grow so thick that the only light available is the stark impression of the moon through faded breaks in the heavy overlay. Dim, muted eyes cast their narrow glance forward. Others would know that sight within the area was near impossible.

She stops to listen. The forest’s creatures who inhabit the nearby space harshly call for her to turn away.

A sneer is drawn to her callous lips before she abruptly breaks into a run.

In the thick of the forest, it is a no holds bar environment. One does not normally walk in alone if they plan to keep their life or, at the very least, their sanity. As Amaya runs, she can hear several entities closing in. She effortlessly falls forward, shifting her form entirely to emerge as a dark panther. As this process completes, tall murky figures appear from the break. She glides to a stop, claws digging into the cool dirt. A snarl captivates her features, before her mouth opens wide to expose ruthlessly razored teeth.

These things move slow, but heavily; ridiculously muscular forms that almost appear human. She pushed off the ground to leap through the air fluently, claws ripping into the flesh of one of the creatures. Her bared teeth tear into the exposed line of its neck, jarring back suddenly to cause blood to rain from the gaping wound. She looked to the rest, crying out loud into a deafening roar that warns any support to stay back.

Within a blink she moved again, teeth sinking into the thigh muscles of another. Its arm swung down, knocking her away to slide across the ground. Returning to her feet, her whiskers flared as a hiss fell from her mouth. Her victim suddenly froze in their place, unable to move. Blood rushed from the gash as she turned her dark amber gaze towards the next. Amaya’s form pushed off the ground once more, using the force of the movement to knock the next down. Her claws sprung to life, outstretches as she rapidly drudges to the core; flesh and form flying in every direction to coat the naturally silent landscape.

She screams again, the sound piercing through the solemn night. But she cannot stop more from approaching.

She does not seem to mind the eventual outcome.

"Yes. I understand," Ellis said to the phone, dashing through the still streets of Axiom towards the location of the school, "I'll be there as soon as I can. Yes, I'm on my way now."

Keep an eye on her, they say. Don't let her do anything stupid.

"Too late, I think." She arrives to where the coordinates have lead her to hear the still cry of a creature in the night. She hangs up the call, allowing the phone to fall into her back pocket. Her hand swipes along the cool blades of grass, and in her hand she holds small emerald-toned blades. Her feet break out into a run, dead bolting towards straight through the middle of the greenery. There are things in the way now, toppled trees and ill placed vines as if to keep her at bay. The emerald-tones in her hand form together and extend into a longer blade so she can at least cut through the seemingly swaying traps around her.

The second cry rings out. Harsher than the first. It is to the left; she is off track.

"God dammit, Amaya." She spat, twisting her form and moving on.

The presence of an actual person had been lost on her. The space she inhabited was slowly being overrun, but she had little cause for concern. These things were slow, useless. Better for her to get rid of them while she felt the need to be destructive. Amaya's form rings bloody, much like the field in which she kills. Leaf tips are heavily down with a collection of crimson, allowing drops to fall when the weight becomes too much for them. Amaya slides across the ripped up grass; the fog and blood cause the exposed dirt to moisten into mud. Another hiss from her form causes a few nearby figures to freeze in their motion. Then surely, the air grows thicker with more water particles. The forms themselves begin to shrivel; muscles collapsing and faces sinking in as the skin becomes so tight around their bones. Then it becomes a matter of shattering them by using force and teeth.

More more are on their way. More are here.

A murky figure appears behind her; heavy handed force grips her form from behind the neck, lifting her into the air.

A third ear piercing screech from her form. This one holds no threat, but instead is ripe with distress.

Welcome to The Summerland
The further Ellis ventured in, the more unruly the forest became. It acted as though it wanted to keep her here with the way it continuously deferred her off into strange directions. Keeping the two apart was the smartest strategy that anyone would ever think of; she should have expected as much from a place with a proverbial life of its own. Her breath became heavy in her lungs, aching with each sharp exhale; pushing herself to new bounds to get there in time. The closer she got, the more the air carried a deep scent of deformed blood. The phone in her back pocket began to ring again. To stop and answer or to continue blindly running?

The third cry in the air is painful, not threatening.

It's also loud; meaning that she was closer than she thought. The phone could wait. Moving through quickly, she found the final defense; an interwoven myriad of vines and branches that had formed completely around the field she needed to get into. A cut into the green, and it would just rebuild within moments. Unless she wanted to dive through and get herself pulled to pieces by it, she needed an alternate route.

Her free hand extended up as she jumped, gripping onto a branch and swinging her form around so she could stand on the wood. Ellis had a vantage point; she could see inside the field now. Piles of shredded bodies and shattered limbs. The world had been painted red, herself included. Ellis could at the very least see that crimson panther now, lifted into the air with another hand gripping onto her leg.

It was going to pull her apart just as she had them.

Ellis put her free hand on the blade, pulling it into two pieces and watching both halves sharpen themselves into deadliness. They leave her hands within moments, flying straight towards the arms that threatened the life of her friend.

The murky figure grasps onto one of her legs. lifting her closer to what little of a face it had. Hot breath on her form as it snarled, seeking revenge for fallen comrades. She can feel her limbs threatening to break from their sockets; the shadowed figure opens its mouth to sink its teeth into her. But instead of making contact, its head reeled up and back, growling deeply as the first projectile hit its hand, dropping the hold on her neck. The second is not long after the first, and she breaks free of its grasp.

She fell to the floor in a slump, unable to stop her sudden transformation back into her original form. When she is finally able to lift her head, all she can see is red. The head of the figure that picked her up rolls along the grass to land beside her, and there is another being in the field.

Two direct hits. That's hardly impressive. She pulls a smaller pack of twigs; watch as they shift and mold together to make another sharpened blade for her disposal. With the figure weak enough, she is able to leap off the branch and over the faltering fencing system. Must have been the leader of this pack. Hitting the ground, she lands directly behind it. It's only a matter of seconds before the makeshift weapon slices cleanly through it's head; spine and all. The head falls, rolling to her friend. The body falls moments later. Ellis looks to the distressed teacher.

"You are an idiot." She said harshly, but the smirk that befalls her lips suggests a level of understanding.

Her hand sweeps across the grass once more, and for a few moments nothing happens. The few shadows that remain advance on the two of them quickly, but Ellis remains knelt to the ground. Tendrils begin to sprout through the ground towards them, before suddenly jutting out at the right moment to impale them all. It won't kill them, but it will certainly do something if they leave them here. The vines dissipate. Ellis offers a hand to Amaya, before gripping onto her arm and lifting her up.

"What the hell are you doing?"

Amaya takes the hand offered to help her stand, pulling her to her feet. She tried to stand in her normal stoic ways, but that hit to her midsection was causing more grief than she would like to admit.

Does she know what she's doing. This causes the dark eyed woman to glare directly at her savior, lips pulling into a snarl at the insinuation that she doesn't know what she's doing. Of course she knows, otherwise she wouldn't be doing it. To even question whether or not the teacher can control her choices was enough to burn her insides raw. The other woman would no doubt sense this. Anger was not a shade that best suited Kudo. At least, not anger of this magnitude. She continued to contort the question given to her, twisting it to find its no doubt hidden meaning. A lack of control. She would hardly stand for someone saying such a thing.

"Just leave me!" She shouted, snapping slightly. With narrowed eyebrows, she felt her hand clench together into a fist, sending it sharply towards her ally.

Ellis could see the gears shifting in the woman's head. They were hardly on safe ground her, so for her to not be moving meant her mind was too busy processing information. She watched the tell tale signs; narrowing eyes, furrowed brows, tightening of her fist. Her stance had shifted slightly, but enough for Ellis to know what she wanted to do. The fire in her eyes did nothing to hide her cause. Amaya's hand flew out; in her state it was hardly something Ellis would normally be hid by. But she needed it. So Ellis allowed it to connect to her cheek roughly. She stumbled back a step or two, rehearsed in their movement.

"Do you feel better now?" She asked, watching for potential changes in her stance and demeanor. "She said to make sure you don't do anything stupid. Obviously she was right to send someone to get you." Her hand falling from her face to show a newly forming red mark where she had been hit. "It's not going to help anyone if you get yourself killed, Amaya!" She spat the words to her. It was distressing enough to have to find her way through this god forsaken forest in the middle of the night without having to find her friend struggling to come up for air.

"I would not have died!" Amaya shot back; it was as rare as anything else to have someone challenge her. She would not simply stand there and allow it to happen; she turned away to look back at what had happened, blood everywhere. Mutilated heaps in every vision, and she herself could not escape the cover of it all. The few that were impaled cried out, calling for their own deaths rather than others to help them.

She began to walk as swiftly as she could, as though nothing in the world had just happened. Like she hadn't lost herself in a sea of violence and mayhem. Like she hadn't enjoyed it. "If you're to look after me, you better plan on joining me." She shot, refusing to look back.

Ellis scoffed. She would have lost this fight. She had been moments from decapitation before Ellis had made it to the scene. When in this mind set the woman was the most stubborn person she'd ever met. The phone would ring another time, and this time it would be answered.

"I have her. No, she's alright." A pause; a light chuckle. "Don't worry so much."

Then as she looked back, Amaya had started walking towards the exit of the forest. Finally. The insensate screaming and shrieking from behind them was beginning to bother her. A few quick steps and they could walk side by side. Funny how this place allowed people to find their way out easily once after besting a few of its finest.

"Join you? Where are we going?" Ellis could only assume home, or back to the school at the very least.

Amaya listens idly to the short call Ellis received, knowing that voice on the other end of the line before it could split through the device. Her arms folded, crossing in front of her as she began to ignore the pain pulsing through her skin in her abdomen. Barely a scratch, she would tell others. As Ellis crossed the distance to catch up, she asked a question. Where are we going.

Narrow dark eyes turned their glance over to her.

"To Italy."
