Hanging out with Merekki hadn't been too annoying - exasperating, at most, but Mirael was fairly used to dealing with the horror known as Arisha, and therefore was fairly familiar with Merekki idiocy. At least this one wasn't constantly trying to hug her, even if the looming could get slightly bothersome.

After eating ice cream, making charming observations about random people, listening to Sathyre the Loomer Merekki ramble about various things, dancing around some questions, dancing around various monuments out of boredom, they (she) finally decided to go on an aimlessly wandering little walk just when the first tiny droplets of water started to fall down from the sky.

Apparently Merekki liked the rain. Mirael didn't mind getting drenched at this point, either, and as she didn't often get sick, the girl thought she really had nothing to worry about, herself.
If the elf got sick...well, that would be her fault for going on a walk with the glasses-wearing girl, now wouldn't it?

Wandering aimlessly had its high and low points. Happening upon something moderately interesting was one of those high points, and it so happened the duo ended up near the Forest of Itami. It was now raining harder, the sky above them was rumbling threateningly and it getting a bit late, but did Eight care? Nope, she didn't, The girl had decided to check the forest out sooner or later, regardless, and didn't see any reason to refrain while they were there.

"C'mon, let's see what's so worrying about this forest," she said, gesturing at the much taller girl to follow her into the forest. Just in case there actually was something to worry about, it was good to have some kind of backup along, but she could survive on her own. She always had.

After thoroughly enjoying ice cream, the glasses-girl's antics, her own antics, prodding at Mirael about calling her by her first name damn it woman, and poking fun at bypassers that didn't look prone to punching tall elves or girls with two-toned hair, Sathyre was still up for more adventures.

Of course, the adventures her newly-obtained companion had plans for weren't terribly expected for her, although she should have known. Boy, was this promising to be fun.

At least she got to enjoy the rain, skipping and prancing around in the downpour, her hair and clothing quickly getting drenched, ears uncontrollably twitching as the numerous droplets hit them.

She didn't quite mind exploring the forest - if anything, she'd have company. A potential teddy-bear-replacement. Yep.

"Let's go!" Following, the elf glanced around. Her long ears were never motionless, trying to catch the slightest sound.

At least the Merekki wasn't a coward. The girl whirled a bit in a bored fashion (to make walking more interesting), careful to not trip while at it. Walking through bushes, getting leaves, dirt and small branches stuck on her person, until they got to a small clearing.

She didn't walk into the open right away, though, instead opting to watch and listen closely for anything or anyone besides the elf nearby. Not hearing or seeing anything suspicious, Mirael walked forwards, pushing her wet bangs off of her eyes.

"So far, seems like a fairly normal forest to me. Those weird things should hurry and wake up soon, if they exist," she muttered, glancing at the dark, cloudy sky, shielding her eyes with her hand. This weather was rather rapidly making her glasses useless...

"I should attach those little umbrellas they put into drinks onto my glasses, someday, just for times like these."
The idea was amusing enough. If she remembered, she would do it later.

"If I had a brain and it was easily accessible, I'd spice it up for anything that wants to eat it right about now." Sathyre shrugs, trying to remain as quiet as possible, but failing pretty hard due to being a bit too tall and clumsy for it. Who said all elves are graceful? Certainly not her. "... by the way, those umbrellas would be a nice addition for things that want to suck your eyes out. That wouldn't be your intention, yet..."

Either way, she continues. "As it is, I doubt that my brain is nutritious and alive, if even present. Plus, I'd have to remove a part of my skull, and that's, I've heard, not a pleasant experience..." ... heard, yeah. From her common sense. What kind of a person would even enjoy those things? Again, not her. At all. Ever.

Weird things... Numberette was too daring, Sathyre thought. But it was fun. It was a bit too fun. She just dreaded the moment when something dangerous would finally jump out at them - she'd have to defend the much shorter and weaker-looking girl, and that wouldn't be pleasant for anyone.

After all, this elf getting angry was always a bad idea.

Always.

At least she still had rain to enjoy.

The girl rolled her eyes at the elf's clumsiness. It was fairly useless for her to be sneaky and quiet when her company was making such a ruckus, now wasn't it. She spun around to face Merekki, hands going to rest on her hips.

"And maybe someone can teach you a bit of that famous elven grace while you're here. I think it might be a power you have yet to unlock," she drawled at the dark-skinned girl, raising an eyebrow at her. "We might as well not go any deeper for now, y'know. Whatever 'weird things' could be up and about at this time probably heard you, wherever they are."

It was just a matter of waiting for those weird things to show themselves...though she was becoming increasingly aware of someone (something? multiple somethings) observing them. A shiver went down her spine and Mirael took another look at the area, not seeing anything...literally, because her glasses were dripping wet. Grumbling, the girl with poor sight took the glasses off of her face and pocketed them.

"Nah, I think the umbrellas would just get in the way. Now, if it was straws, they'd be having a right blast," she deadpanned, rubbing her nose and frowning slightly and twitching as with the loss of actual eyesight, her blindsight threatened to overwhelm her for a brief moment, taking note of every slightest change to the environment around them and did something just step on the ground not too far away from them and why did that branch just snap off since the wind wasn't yet too strong especially in the woody area and leaves getting torn off trees and blades of grass being assaulted by the downpour and-- she held her head in her hands, wincing.

"...Freaking bad weather," she muttered, pausing as she collected herself, shaking her aching head. Now that her brain had caught up with the situation and odds of her survival if things were to go horribly wrong, the girl had some second thoughts about this. "Yeah, seems we should either stick to the edge or come back on a clear night."

She wasn't a coward.

Just smart. Occasionally. And unwilling to be protected like some little sheltered princess who needed it.
