It had been a long time since Lucas could get to an instrument like this. If nothing else, MHS had some of the most well managed musical instruments available; the Auditorium's piano being one of the best. He had wheeled the Grand out onto the stage slightly, choosing not to push it into the middle. After all, it was only practice. Lucas moved to lift the lid of the piano to it's highest point, propping it up so the sound would flow out and encompass the whole empty space. He didn't need to worry about muffling the sound if he was the only one around. After adjusting the seat in front of the piano, he finally placed himself before it. Lucas settled before the instrument, allowing his hands to rest lightly on the keys before he would actually play. He fiddled with simple chord progressions and shifting melodies before deciding on anything significant to practice with. He got up, deciding to close the lid once again to cover himself for any further mistakes he would make. Sitting back down, Lucas spent a few moments reminding himself how to play something worthwhile; wrong notes and incorrect chords would flood the usually perfect sound. Finally, the blue haired boy found his feet, so to speak. His hands pushed down on the right keys and for once, a clean sound would fill the area. "Didn't they always say we were the lucky ones? I guess that we were once. We were once." He stopped momentarily; the usually upbeat song and progression turning out different to how he had expected. "But luck will leave you cause it is a faithless friend. And in the end, when life has got you down. You've got someone here that you can wrap your arms around. So hold onto me tight." Suddenly his hands would hit the keys harder, the dynamics shifting greatly to mirror some kind of chorus. But this shift in power was not coming from the conventional. Rather than working through any kind of deep rooted issues and feelings, Lucas seemed to be fueling them. His fluctuating colouring of the notes was coming from more than an understanding of the music. It was hard to perform such a thing when his personal life was a glaring contrast. "Hold on to me, tonight. We are stronger here together, than we could ever be alone. So hold onto me." His hands lifted up suddenly. This was not a good idea; no comfort would come from this choice. "Don't you ever let me go." |

Come at Me, Bro!
|
Stella was hiding. Ayeka had mentioned something about wigs, and mascara and something about pencil skirts and Stella had nodded, smiled, and then made some small excuse and ran away as fast as she could. She'd found a place to hide in the music hall, and had hidden behind one of the black curtains in the wings. It had to be safe, right? And teh star girl did feel a bit bad about just disapearing but it was the third time that week that Ayeka had started on how to fix her hair. Stella wasn't sure how much more she could take of that. When she heard someone come in, Stella tucked herself into a little ball. It had to be Ayeka, she was going to come at her with the hair dye again... Her head shot up from her knees when Stella heard the piano keys start however, and she lent against the wall and listened with her eyes shut as the scales ran up and down. "Didn't they always say we were the lucky ones? I guess that we were once. We were once." Her eyes shot open, the bright blue fading in shock. Lucas! Of course, he loved music. She'd listened to him play plenty of times but he hadn't sung that much...Except once, when they had tried out for the musical for a bit of fun. Hugging her knees to her, Stella's mouth twitched. He had stopped talking to her entirely since the fight when he'd seen her and it felt horrible. "But luck will leave you cause it is a faithless friend. And in the end, when life has got you down. You've got someone here that you can wrap your arms around. So hold onto me tight." She made a little muffled sound into her knees and rubbed a hand over her eyes. It wasn't fair, it wasn't fair at all that she had to lie awake at night aware that he was trying his best to block her out entirely. And she still didn't know why! All she knew was that her friend wasn't talking to her, his girlfriend seemed to think she was some sort of jezabel and that Stella missed her friend so much as she listened to him play that she had to bite into her lip hard to stop from mumbling something, or even worse, letting her eyes start to water. "Don't you ever let me go." That was it. It was either sneak away and risk running into Ayeka or let him know she was there and get him to talk to her. Slowly she climbed to her feet, untangled herself from the black curtain and stepped out onto the stage. Her heart was hammering, and Stella's hands clenched and unclenched. What if he just got up and walked out? Well, she'd have to go after him. He wasn't allowed to just walk out on her without her understanding why she had suddenly become so repellant. "I haven't heard that one before," she said after a moment, moving closer to the piano and trying to catch Lucas's green eyes with her nervously bright ones. "It's a bit sad, isn't it?" Stella reached for her necklace, still worrying her lip. She didn't want to talk about the music. The music was lovely but she didn't care about that right now. "I miss you," she finally said. "I miss my friend. I don't know what happened over the holidays but you're being..." she swallowed, and shook her head. "You're being horrible! And I don't know why, but I hate it, and I miss spending time with you without you trying to avoid admitting that I actually exist!" |

She startled him; so much so that his fingers slipped off the keys, pushing down on them and causing an erratic sound to flow from the instrument. Her eyes were bright, and his were narrowed on her form. This was something he was simply not able to stop doing. He was angry at her. At times he didn't want to know her. It was better if she had just stayed gone so he wouldn't have to deal with the things that he had never dealt with. "I miss my friend. I don't know what happened over the holidays but you're being... You're being horrible! And I don't know why, but I hate it, and I miss spending time with you without you trying to avoid admitting that I actually exist!" He allowed her words to drill into his mind. Normally he would just drown her voice out however he needed to. But she just kept talking. And she called him horrible! Lucas reacted, slamming his hands down on the keys to push more strangled sounds out of the machine. "I missed you for over six months and you didn't seem to care!" He shouted. Lucas turned to look at her for a moment before he stood up and spun around to see her completely. "I ached for your existence in my life. And you didn't seem to mind." His voice had softened in volume but not in tone. She had chosen to keep her distance, but he would not allow her to keep it. Lucas began to take a few strides forward. "You left me. Don't pretend that you didn't. You left me!" He tried to keep his voice from raising, but that was hard. She was practically forcing everything out of him. He stopped close enough to her; there was barely any distance left between them already. Maybe a few inches. It was just like when they were in his room and he had struggled to see her there. "It's better if you don't exist. It's better if you don't breathe near me, because you gave all that to me and then you took it away again!" He was seething by now, trying his best to calm himself down but the more he spoke the more he registered how unfair she was being. And she was calling him unfair? "You ruined this. You left me!" He repeated, hoping she would finally get it into her head. Lucas had yet to realise how close he actually was to her; close enough that she would no doubt be able to feel his breath heavy against her skin, underlying a mountain of tension that kept itself on his shoulders. |

She started slightly as the lid banged down over the keys, but didn't so much as move back. He was angry, and she was going to find out why. "I missed you for over six months and you didn't seem to care!" He was not angry. Stella had been wrong to think that. He was furious. "I missed you too!" she replied, not yelling, but making sure he heard her. What did he mean she didn't care? That made no sense, none and all. Everyone missed each other when they were apart, it wasn't something he could throw against her like a weapon! And she did care that he was hurting, even if she didn't understand! "I ached for your existence in my life. And you didn't seem to mind. You left me. Don't pretend that you didn't. You left me!" He was striding towards her and Stella looked up at him in obvious confusion. "I went away," she said, an echo of what she had told anyone who asked her what she had done for the last half year. "Everyone goes away for the holidays, Lucas!" She had left him? "It wasn't like I was never coming back!" The confusion was still there, but Stella wasn't backing down an inch to the blue haired boy as he came even closer. She couldn't remember every being that bothered with Lucas standing close, and even now when he was practically radiating fury she refused to back down to him. She had hoped that when he did finally talk to her, it would make sense and she would be able to explain and apologize but it was worse then before. "It's better if you don't exist. It's better if you don't breathe near me, because you gave all that to me and then you took it away again!" That stung, and she winced like he'd slapped her. "I've already said sorry, I am sorry if I upset you, I just don't understand why you're being so horrible!" the star girl shot back once she had recovered, glaring up at him. He was talking in circles again, because all Stella had given him was her friendship, and the silver bracelet when he moved in. He was speaking as if she'd torn his heart out and it was just, just... had she? "You ruined this. You left me!" Had Stella missed that the entire time? Was that why he was so upset? Had he liked her in the way Amber talked about? "You can be so lovely," Stella murmured, the scowl fading away. "You're the nicest person I know, and if you were that person again I would like you, I would really like you, but you're just," she reached up and pushed at his chest lightly, still scowling even as her eyes started to sting with the realization of just how different it was without Lucas around with her. And she did like him, she did so much, and maybe they were just friends but knowing he hated her now made her feel so alienated and abandoned. "It's horrible without you too. It's always been us," though her 'us' seemed to carry a different weight to his idea of the word, "I don't know how to fix it. I don't know what happened!" He was so close, and Stella couldn't help it. Every part of her, except her brain, was demanding she move, and with a movement that felt well practiced the star girl wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tight. He could try to push her away. |

"You're the nicest person I know, and if you were that person again I would like you, I would really like you, but you're just." Her hands collided with his chest, as if she dared or simply willed to push him away. But regardless of whatever action she would take, Lucas would refuse to disappear. His feet had been planted surely on the ground in front of her. No simple act of just hoping he would step away was going to make it happen. "It's horrible without you too. It's always been us. I don't know how to fix it. I don't know what happened!" The corner of his mouth turned up into a type of snarl at her words. Us? Her definition of the word was lacking in inflection and, well, feeling. She seemed completely convinced that this boy had been nothing more than an entity of friendship. He wanted to laugh. He wanted to tell her that the things they were saying and doing were not within the general realms of friendship; not by a long shot. But something within him stopped the blue haired boy from using all that against her. There was no way she was that naive. "You used to-" He started to say, before she launched herself at him. Her arms snaked around him, pulling them together and pressing their forms as one. He initially resisted, going so far as to try and force himself out of her hold. But it seemed as though she wasn't accepting this to happen. Lucas was not about to cry over the situation; he had done enough of that when she had first disappeared to know it was not worth doing anymore. He lifted his arms up, resting them on the girl's shoulders to gently break the contact between them so he could see her. Emerald eyes glanced across her, taking to her dull eyes. She looked up at him as though she could truly not understand what was going on; like he was breaking her into pieces. After the experience on his own, he could not force someone into that as well. But she had done wrong by him. Nevertheless, somewhere in the boy's mind, he had hoped to take a moment of her time before she would keep talking about his existence as though it were only half lived. Lucas' arms circled around the waist of his former love, pulling her into his chest and holding onto her, for a few moments, like nothing was wrong. The way the reunion might have gone had she not acted so strangely, or had she left word that she needed to go. He willingly pressed himself against her, taking in memories in the process. She still carried the same scent in her hair. Her skin still felt the same upon contact. She was the same. But she was not. The moment had passed. "I thought you loved me." Lucas whispered into her ear, the tone gentle against the tearing words. But if this was what she wanted, he could not fight against it forever; she would have to forcibly accept non existence in his mind. The fleeting moment dissipates as he moves to pull himself away again. "Perhaps I was mistaken." |

He kept moving, and Stella didn't let him. She didn't ask what he had been going to say, she just looked up at him when he tried to shrug her off with her mouth turned down and radiating determination. Or was it desperation? When he folded and pulled her close, Stella tucked her head under his chin and sighed. This was right. She could remember this, she thought. Something like this. Without the anger and the confusion though. Still, she could feel how he'd changed shape over the holidays, layers of new muscle under his uniform. It was a strange thing to stand out to her. "I thought you loved me." Stella's muscles locked and her eyes flew open, though all they saw was the dark uniform and a splash of midnight blue hair. She couldn't lie to him and so said nothing. Stella had never loved Lucas, not like... not like that. He was dear and important and wonderful, but... something like that wouldn't have just vanished over six months, after all. How long had he loved her though, because there could be no other explanation to his reaction and what had just happened? But the last few days with him being so close and ignoring her, and how it had frozen her insides were even harder to forget. Looking up, her expression was a picture of helplessness as Stella tried hard to decide what to do. His face was so close, and bridging the gap would be just a matter of leaning forward, closing the gap between her mouth and his... It felt almost natural and she wouldn't know without really seeing.. hardly any space between them at all now,.. Maybe there was something... there. The gap was breached, for better or for worse. Lucas moved back a little, planning to step out as he let her go. There. He had at least given her something to remember him by. Lucas had to remind himself constantly that she had left him, and that was her way of making a choice about their relationship. He would never understand why she felt the need to act as though they had never existed; in his mind he felt like it was her way of escaping everything they had together. He supposed that in a sense he had to let her do that, but he didn't have to be nice to her in the process. Her choice was her choice, just as normally his would be his. But he felt like she took that away from him by taking his ability to protest her departure. He would not forgive her for not giving him an opportunity to fix it. There. There was a moment where they were so close and he could see directly into her eyes. She was searching for something; something that she still could not really find. But it seemed as though she had at least taken hold of an instinct and run with it. She closed the distance in a moment, stealing hold of his lips with hers in a kiss. In his shock he could not move away as his form had frozen solid. Perfection should have been the way they came together; igniting all the memories and the moments. The passion they used to have for each other would have caught fire and forced them to collide entirely. But they had only been sharing breath together for a second or so. She had spent years breathing for him; breathing life into his form and she had taken that away, leaving him to suffocate without her. She could not breathe life into him again when another had taken her place. He pulled away, stumbling back a step or so. "You can't do that anymore." He had almost sternly to her; words that would only make sense to him. |

Zxaine seemed to have sensed that Lucas was upset, and so she'd gone off in search of him. The text book she'd been studying was tucked under her left arm, a few pieces of notebook paper sticking from it, and her pencil was stuck through the base of her ponytail. She'd looked everywhere but the meadow, he wouldn't be angry there. that was a special place, it was impossible to be angry in so beautiful a place. So she had come here, to the auditorium. She pushed open the door stepping inside quietly. Her hazel eyes began the task of adjusting to the interior light as she glanced around, his voice catching her ears. Someone was here.... talking to him. His tone made her chest hurt, he was angry and hurt, she could feel it. Anger started behind her eyes, whomever did this.... made him feel like this.... they were about to answer to her. As she stepped fully into the room her eyes caught Stella doing something that she was .... well needless to say she was shocked. "Mistress!" Damion yowled to her, her fingers twitching out towards him. She stood frozen for a moment, as that girl betrayed Lucas even more by daring to kiss him. The irony of this whole situation was not lost on her, but the difference was, Lucas had never been angry with her for betraying his trust and abandoning him. Stella could not boast the same. Lucas too seemed stunned, at least for a moment, then he stumbled backwards. "You can't do that anymore." There it was. Her queue. While she had been standing there her anger had begun to rise, the golden-brown tones of her eyes taking dominance over the mossy green until they appeared molten gold in color. She disappeared and reappeared behind Stella, her head lowered slightly and rage pulling from her form. Not rage at Lucas, oh no. She knew for a fact he wouldn't have sought Stella out, much less invited her for a kiss. Her eyes narrowed slightly and they slid to stare at the back of Stella's head. "As much as fan of irony I am. I expected better from you." She growled to the star girl, her tone full of malice. "I warned you. I warned you not to hurt him again." She hissed and her hand reached up to grab a handful of the girl's lily white hair, twining in it and moving to scrape her manicured nails across the girl's head painfully. "And now... you have to answer to me." She would not be a sad, poor little girl like Stella had been in this situation. She loved Lucas, and she was not going to let this... this.... She shook her head once, no sense even thinking about it. Shadow and light played off her body as she moved to drag the star girl away by her hair. How dare she toy with Lucas' emotions like that... how dare she. Edited by Yoshika, Apr 18 2012, 11:55 AM.

This time, Stella didn't try to stop Lucas as he pulled back, her arms dropping to her sides. She shouldn't have done that. It had proven nothing and helped no one. "I'm sorry," she said hollowl, and covered her eyes with one hand. ""You can't do that anymore." Anymore? Something else cut through the pure embaressment she was feeling and Stella's eyebrows raised. He was clearly suggesting that she had done that before, and Stella was positive that was the first time she'd even lost touch with her senses enough to try and kiss Lucas Reed. The fact that she seemed to have known the slight movements it took to get to his mouth with the ease of long practise nonwithstanding. "What do you mean an-" she started to as, her hand dropping from her face to level her now powder blue eyes at Lucas's emerald ones. The she heard a thump behind her. "As much as fan of irony I am. I expected better from you, I warned you. I warned you not to hurt him again." Zxaine. Stella began to turn, to try and explain that it had just been a mistake, that it hadn't meant anything, when long nails raked her scalp and something pulled her hair sharply. She yepled in pain, reaching up to try and grasp her attackers' hand. "Get off me!" she cried, and it could be that the panic in her voice was perhaps a little too desperate for just a cat fight, it could be that her pupils had shrunk in shock as she took a breath. It could be that Zxaine's hans felt, for an instant, like it was much larger. Perhaps. "And now... you have to answer to me." In a last ditch attempt to get her to let go, Stella grapsed Zxaine's wrist and attempted to yank it off, her feet skittering as she was pulled backwards. Lucas was forgotten in her own need to detach her hair from the furious girl's grip. The irises of her shock widened eyes had faded again, the soft blue replaced by muted grey. "Stop it!" Stella protested again, and tried to push back with her left hand. Her right was still occupied in making sure that the crazy bitch didn't yank out a chunk of her hair. |

Suddenly Zxaine was here. Irony was right; this situation was mirroring one they had all experienced before but with completely different context. Her words were relatively lost on Lucas though; the blue haired boy was slowly starting to burn with anguish and rage. Were these two serious? They were acting like total children. Overbearing, crazy girls with no idea what was actually going on here. He watched the scene unfold, with both of them acting as though they were the center of this whole thing, as though Lucas were nothing but an outer entity that could not deal with his problems on his own. Zxaine spoke like she owned him; Stella kissed him like he was her property to mark. And Zxaine had ripped Stella away by the hair. The hair of all things. This girl was showing a side he had never even thought to experience. "And now... you have to answer to me." "Both of you are answering to me!" He seethed, stepping forward to meet them. His fingers coiled around Zxaine's that had entwined in Stella's hair, physically pulling them back to retract them without taking away any hair. His other hand took hold of Stella's wrist and forced her to let Zxaine's arm go. "I am no one's property. Do you understand me?" Lucas had shouted, pushing back on their arms to separate them. He stood clearly between the two of them, his attention turned out to the both of them. "You both need to calm down and stop acting like idiots around each other. It's over." Lucas stepped past Zxaine towards the stairs at the front of the stage. He crossed Damion's path as he moved, and in a typical gesture, allowed his hand to gently run along the familiar's fur from his head across his back. An oddly gentle and refined moment considering the state of the room. When he had left them, he turned around with narrow eyes staring up at Zxaine. For the moment, Stella might as well have not existed. "And you need to stop this. What happens between Stella and I is not your fight to jump into. If you want to fight someone, go find somewhere else to do it. Why would I want to be with someone who acts like you did?" Lucas shook his head quickly, feeling a heated amount of rage boiling in his veins. This was not something that was going away the more he spoke, so he should have stopped talking there. His body continued to hold tension as his voice lowered, his tone dropped into darker colours. "I don't ever want to see you touch her again. Don't threaten her. It isn't your place to treat me like a child for the sake of your own jealousy. If you had any trust in me you would not feel the need to get so violent about something that was clearly a mistake," His hand raised, gesturing to Stella harshly, "She never did it to you when you did the same thing she did. If anything, you're both as bad as each other." Lucas turned sharply, walking down the aisle with heavy steps, leaving them to sit and handle his words either alone or together. That was, unless one of them tried to stop him. |

"Both of you are answering to me!" And then he pulled them apart. She didn't resist, though he should have realized the girl is hardly a fighter. Dragging her away was likely the worst that could have been done. Still her right eyebrow twitched, did he SERIOUSLY think she was JEALOUS? Jealous of that spineless wretch. She said nothing, though her eyes were alight with fury. Damion pressed against her legs, making her take a few steps back. "I am no one's property. Do you understand me?" "I did not call you property. I'd already stated to her that she hurt you. It's not my fault she's so lost in la la land." She responded coolly. Was she still angry, yes, but apparently Lucas thought it was for all the wrong reasons. "You both need to calm down and stop acting like idiots around each other. It's over." Damion purred to Lucas as the boy stroked along his head to his back. The cat was calm, that could be why he and Lucas got along so well. "I don't ever want to see you touch her again. Don't threaten her. It isn't your place to treat me like a child for the sake of your own jealousy. If you had any trust in me you would not feel the need to get so violent about something that was clearly a mistake," "You think... I'm Jealous? she heard the confusion in her own voice, Jealous. Really? Of the myriad of things that he could accuse her of. Jealousy? "It could never be that I want to see you happy, or that I know how much being around her hurts you. Or that maybe, just MAYBE, I'm trying to protect you for a change? Instead you see jealousy? I'm about as jealous of her as Damion is a dog, which is not at all." Her hands balled. She could do nothing right. She shot Stella a rage filled glare, she had warned her. She had made it clear how hurt and angry Lucas had been at her disappearance. And all she tried to do was keep him from feeling that again. "She never did it to you when you did the same thing she did. If anything, you're both as bad as each other." And there it was, once again, compared to that weak willed bitch. Her lips tightened and she turned her head away. "Yes. Well I'm not her." She spat bitterly. The girl grit her teeth, refusing to say another word. Though the hurt of once more being a mere comparison to that girl cut deeper then anything the other girl would have done. "I'm not timid and shy and afraid of everyone. So forgive me for not being above pettiness in an effort to keep you from harm. It's not like I could hurt her anyways. She muttered the last bit, turning away from everyone and staring at the piano a bit away. Damion sighed and hooked his paw over his muzzle. This was all constant drama. Constant. |

Come at Me, Bro!

The moment Zxaine let go Stella lept back and turned around, her own eyes flashing. Raising a hand to her head, she quickly eased away the shallow grooves Zxaine had managed to scratch into her head, her hand glowing brightly for a moment. The superfical wounds didn't take much energy at all, and they closed over quickly. Still, after that she lowered her hands, holding them up to show Lucas she had no intention of trying to jump back into the frey. "I am no one's property. Do you understand me?" "I did not call you property. I'd already stated to her that she hurt you. It's not my fault she's so lost in la la land." At that, Stella's head snapped towards Zxaine as her eyes widened in indignation. That was a flat lie! "You came to our room and out of nowhere chose to remind me, in your words, that he was yours," she snapped, her hands balling into fists. "You've changed your tune, then!" She had hurt Lucas, yes she could admit that now, but she couldn't have known how he felt if he'd never talked about it. And anyway, what right did this girl have to come in and start talking like that about her? "You both need to calm down and stop acting like idiots around each other. It's over." She nearly gasped in frustration. As far as Stella was concerned she'd been positively nice to Zxaine! She'd had no reason not to be! Just because she'd acted like an idiot around Lucas didn't mean that she would be one around that angry girl. But she bit her lip to keep quiet. That didn't need saying, and the 'she started it' line was so old it creaked. "You think... I'm Jealous? It could never be that I want to see you happy, or that I know how much being around her hurts you. Or that maybe, just MAYBE, I'm trying to protect you for a change? Instead you see jealousy? I'm about as jealous of her as Damion is a dog, which is not at all." When Zxaine glared at her, this time Stella met it head on, her own eyes blazing cold blue. She had assumed it was jealousy as well, and couldn't help but feel contempt for the suggestion that Lucas couldn't protect himself. God, she was just so unpleasent! What on earth was Lucas doing with someone like her? The realisation hit her like a thunderclap. Of course! Lucas had turned horrible when he'd started dating this rude person. It made perfect sense. She never did it to you when you did the same thing she did. If anything, you're both as bad as each other." What had she did that was the same as what Zxaine had done? Brushing off Lucas's comment, as it confused her and she didn't have time for that right now, "I'm not timid and shy and afraid of everyone. So forgive me for not being above pettiness in an effort to keep you from harm. It's not like I could hurt her anyways. "I'm not afraid of you" Stella said flatly, not exactly the picture of timidity at that moment. Like Lucas couldn't even look after himself.. it was infuriating. Her friend was one of the strongest people she knew. "And you are petty. Who gave you the right to talk about me like that?" she added, and shook her head before turning to Lucas. "I'm not sure what happened to you over the break, but you were never so angry before you were with her." Turning on her heel, Stella turned back to Zxaine and looked at her for a moment before speaking. "Maybe it's for the best," she said after a moment. "The Lucas I know deserves better. And that he's always been able to protect himself without the help of you." She took another step back, her jaw so tight it hurt. "I'm sorry I kissed you, that was selfish," she said finally to Lucas, and it was clear she meant it. It would have come out sooner if Zxaine hadn't arrived. "And I'm sorry that I hurt you. And you can date whoever you want, but I'm not going to let her just stand there and say horrible things about me without standing up for myself." Now, to Zxaine. "I don't want to steal your boyfriend," she said flatly. "And I know it must have looked like that just now, but I have no interest in chaseing after someone who isn't interested," And was that a dig at what Zxaine had told her and Amber? Yes. Yes it was. "Lucas was one of my best friends and that is all I want from him." Edited by belovedstranger, Apr 18 2012, 10:25 PM.

"Yes. Well I'm not her. I'm not timid and shy and afraid of everyone. So forgive me for not being above pettiness in an effort to keep you from harm. It's not like I could hurt her anyways." "You think that this would make me happy?" Lucas addressed her point with as much anger and tension that had been rising in the room already. Rather than taking from the fire, they all seemed to be fueling it further; each new comment and shout added a new level to this whole thing. No one seemed to even be listening to each other anymore, rather all speaking for their own selfish benefit. Lucas might not have been the exception to this, but in his mind this revolved around him. Zxaine was his connection and to an extent, so was Stella. What brought them together was him. "I'm sorry I kissed you, that was selfish," Lucas could accept her apology for the most part; it had been clear that she didn't mean anything by it. But it had brought back all these things, and it had brought about this argument the three of them were having now. Try as she might to take back her action she could not, and Zxaine could not seem to allow it to stop. "I don't want to steal your boyfriend. And I know it must have looked like that just now, but I have no interest in chaseing after someone who isn't interested. Lucas was one of my best friends and that is all I want from him." "You wouldn't get to steal me, even if you did want to!" Lucas shouted violently at the both of them; it was meant for them both even if it had come from a comment Stella was making. The seats either side of him had shaken and rattled as the air through his words would pick up, physically manifesting in a force hard enough that they would feel it threaten to literally knock them off their feet, even from their distance. He sighed heavily, then. It was a harsh sign when even his abilities wanted to fend their shots and comments away. "You can't talk like I don't exist because I'm right here. And I get to say something too." His eyes even darted back to Zxaine, and even he was too frustrated to see her as anything but against him at this point. "And you," He began, "If I want your protecting, I'll ask for it. If I want you to be there for me, you'll know it. But-" He stopped suddenly. What was it that Stella had said before? Zxaine confronted her? He took a sharp step forward, eyes narrowing on the brown haired girl. "What did you do?" |

"I'm not afraid of you. And you are petty. Who gave you the right to talk about me like that?" "You think that this would make me happy?" Her shoulders pulled in, she'd been trying. She wasn't good at this social thing. She was the first to admit she was socially awkward. But she was trying. He wasn't yelling at STELLA like he was yelling at her. It didn't seem fair to her. She said nothing. Damion looked up at her face, she looked down at his, his ears drawing down in a pathetic cant. She kept her back to the other two, tossing her book on the stage, loose pages scattering. Why was it always her fault? Didn't she do her best? "You wouldn't get to steal me, even if you did want to!" Her hair fluttered, stirred by the force of his voice. Still she didn't turn around. She couldn't face him. She couldn't let him see. Let it all be her fault. She could take it. Bad girl Zxaine, always to blame. "You can't talk like I don't exist because I'm right here. And I get to say something too." He kept talking like he wanted her to say something. What could she say? There were not words enough for what was going on. She'd just been trying to protect him from more pain, why was she in the wrong so much? "And you, If I want your protecting, I'll ask for it. If I want you to be there for me, you'll know it. But-" He stopped and she glanced over her shoulder ever so slightly, not enough for him to see her face. "What did you do?" Damion shook his head in disbelief, shaking it violently at Lucas. Zxaine had not gone there to 'confront' anyone. She'd been looking for Lucas, that Stella was there was not expected at all. The one-sidedness of it it all was astounding to the feline, who always saw Lucas as fair. He snarled loudly and Zxaine's fingers snapped out, stopping the feline before the cat could continue his protest. "Of course. I had to do something. I didn't do anything! I was surprised to find her in your room. When she said she had moved back in I asked innocently if she thought that fair after what happened last year. Of course she sees no wrong in what she did. But instead I'm to blame. I did something." She turned on her heel, her emotions carefully drawn in, hiding. "I left shortly there after because it was uncomfortable and I wasn't about to run her out of her own room. I do believe I even said as much when she offered to leave as I got up to." She turned her eyes on Stella, the once raging color like stone. Unfeeling. Cold. Detached. She was well hidden within her own mind, back to the stony girl of the year before. She'd thought she didn't need this anymore, that she didn't need to hide her feelings. She looked back to Lucas and her brows pulled together. "I always thought that when your in a relationship you protect each other, I thought that's how it worked. If your going to be mad at me for caring about your feelings and trying to preserve them. Fine. Be mad at me. But remember who is the one who betrayed you fully. It wasn't me. I tried my best all that time, and I still try my best. I'm not Stella. I don't want to be Stella. You know I'm hot tempered, and I don't always restrain impulses the best. But don't just yell at me." She wanted to run away. Damion mewled to her, pulling her back from the instant disappearance that she knew would happen otherwise. Cracks in her iron defense started to show, and her eyes glassed over slightly, barely enough to notice and a bit of resentful hurt clear in the way her brows pulled. "This isn't all my fault." Damion walked over to the stage and retrieved her book, trying to shuffle the loose pages into the thickness of it with his paws in futility. "And you." She looked at Stella. "Try telling the whole story next time, not just the parts that suit your needs." She turned again, staring back at the piano. She was NOT the only one who was in the wrong here. She refused to be the only one. Edited by Yoshika, Apr 18 2012, 11:11 PM.

Come at Me, Bro!

Eying the cat with misgiving, the star girl looked up at Zxaine. What was it this time? "Of course. I had to do something. I didn't do anything! I was surprised to find her in your room. When she said she had moved back in I asked innocently if she thought that fair after what happened last year. Of course she sees no wrong in what she did. But instead I'm to blame. I did something. I left shortly there after because it was uncomfortable and I wasn't about to run her out of her own room. I do believe I even said as much when she offered to leave as I got up to." Stella listened to Zxaine's version of their encounter in the room and couldn't keep the disbelief and confusion from her face. Was she still just choosing to avoid telling the truth, or had she actually deluded herself into thinking that her version of the events were the only true ones? She opened her mouth to remind Zxaine that she had only left after warning Stella that if she damaged Lucas Zxaine would make her pay. Stella wanted to reminded her that before she'd left Zxaine had felt the need to tell Stella she didn't know how Lucas could tolerate being near her after Stella had expressed her happiness that Lucas had found someone. But that would just keep the argument going, and Stella didn't want that to happen. She had had enough of Lucas shouting at her and enough of Zxaine blatantly insulting her and if keeping quiet would help this end sooner then she would. Looking back at Zxaine, her own heart still pounding, Stella couldn't keep the confusion from her face. But don't just yell at me." Betrayed him fully? Stella hadn't even known! And why was she bringing that up now? What they were all arguing about was something else, and, as far as Stella knew, something entirely separate. Her eyes flickered towards Lucas and Stella's brow puckered slightly. She'd thought she was being yelled at too.. in fact she was sure of it. What had Zxaine accused her of? Living in La La Land? This was dumbfounding. Such a dramatic change and so quickly too! What could have triggered it? When Zxaine looked at her the anger had been mixed with a good dollop of complete confounded. "And you. Try telling the whole story next time, not just the parts that suit your needs." Her jaw actually dropped. "Do you not see yourself at all?" Stella asked in disbelief, her eyes wide. "You just, I mean, don't you even see that you're doing just that? I am in the wrong too, I know that, and I've apologized. You seem to have constructed a whole new series of events in your head and are ignoring the reality of what's going on. Why do you suddenly seem to think you're being victimized?" Her voice had dropped, no longer angry in tone, just hesitant and surprised. Zxaine's sudden swing around in attitude clearly was making no sense to the star girl. None whatsoever. Zxaine's change in demeanor was sudden, but this was not the first time he had noticed it in her. Lucas could distinctly remember this happening once before; whereby she would speed up to such a heightened moment and proverbially slam on the breaks in the next. He had to wonder if it happened when she realised she was wrong, or that her actions had been misunderstood. Zxaine's picture of the story appeared different to the way Stella had implicated it. And even after Zxaine had spoken, she was still protesting the truth behind her words. They were arguing, essentially, about who's side of the story was correct and who's rendition he should listen to more. But he knew how they had felt about each other; how they had always thought of each other. "You know you both talk about what's best for me," He began, sighing heavily now as the situation called for less anger from everyone. And the rest were complying to this concept, so Lucas supposed he should to. "But neither of you are doing anything worthwhile. You want to fight each other? Do it through your own problems and don't pin that on me. At least I can see that Stella knows she did something wrong," He had looked to her; she was no where near out of the woods with him yet. Everything about her form and her presence still tugged at his heart strings enough to make him bleed anger and frustration. "But you grabbed her by the hair and forced he away, treating her like less than a human being. In what universe are you constructively helping me by doing that?" It was uncalled for. Zxaine could have said whatever she wanted to to Stella, but that was a line that she had chosen to cross. Lucas shook his head, his hand running through midnight locks of his hair to keep them out of his eyes and back into place. "You are both in the wrong. Stop acting like children and leave me out of it; I don't need either of you to fight any battles for me." This notion that he was weak and needed saving was puncturing through his head by now. Lucas had his own way of dealing with everything that was going on; he'd taken his whole break to try and figure it out. And in one moment, the two of them had come in and destroyed the foundation of his sanity by arguing like idiots. "Neither of you listen to a word I'm saying. Why would I want to deal with either of you if I don't deserve to be heard? Just leave each other alone." |

She heard Stella talk, but she ignored the whole conversation. He wanted her to leave Stella alone. Fine. She would be blind, deaf, and mute to anything she said, she would not talk to her, about her, nothing. "If anyone needs me. I'll be in the gym." She said finally, resignation in her voice. "I will not talk to or about her, I will not touch her, nor will I acknowledge her." He didn't want her help, fine. She wouldn't help. What else could she do? After all, she was always wrong. She looked at Damion, who handed her the book, a few of the papers were missing, but they were just notes she'd already copied down. She got the harsher side of the stick, for a little hair pull. She turned toward the door, walking straight past Stella without so much as an inclination that she saw her anymore. She paused by Lucas and looked up at him. "I'm sorry if I made you mad. I'm not good at this kind of thing." She said softly, not like she was upset more that she was resigned tot he fact that he saw what she did as wrong and accepted it. "I'll leave the issue of all this up to you. Whatever you decide... I'll abide by." She sighed and started off again. Damion held back and looked at Lucas, tipping his head in question. However he could not linger, the pull of the bond between himself and Zxaine causing the feline to start trotting after the girl. She didn't teleport away, which would have been easy, leaving the option of catching up with her if one so desired. She shook her head slowly as she walked out, she could see being angry if she'd flat out hit the other girl. Still, he was raised differently then she was, and she could only accept that. |

"I'm sorry if I made you mad. I'm not good at this kind of thing." Lucas stood a little surprised by Zxaine's response. She pulled herself out of the situation completely. She had moved to brush past him, and he had stood back on one foot to give her and Damion the room to pass by. There were moments as she spoke where his body ached for the desire to move to at least reach out to her in a way that would give her some kind of reassurance. But he was still not sure she had even listened to the words he had said to her; if she wasn't going to listen to the things he needed and wanted, where were they supposed to go from here? There needed to be a level of growth that was still lacking. At a later date, he would no doubt blame himself for the extent in which he shouted and called at her. His hand extended out slightly, but by then she was already moving and his hand went through the now empty space. Lucas looked to Damion, always having an understanding and outside friendship with her familiar. He nodded lightly to the animal; they needed time to settle otherwise they would both come back to the conversation as heated as they were when they started. So then they were gone, and Lucas was left with Stella on stage. He didn't want to say anything to her; he had nothing left in him to give to her. She had taken far too much already, and she would only keep taking if he stayed there with her. And with no more words to give, as by now they had all gone to the air, he turned away and left the room. Leaving in such a state meant that he completely missed the two entities that had arrived at the auditorium a little while ago. It was an innocent movement at first; they had only been walking nearby when Emerald had suddenly taken hold of Amber's wrist and stopped her as she walked. Distressed sounds, and a voice she could clearly label as Stella's was ringing through her head. "They're in the auditorium," she had said, a level of stress in her voice to indicate that something was amiss. There, outside the building against the wall Amber would hear the muffled and incoherent calls of three blending voices every so often amidst the normal silence. Emerald stood with her back on the brickwork and her eyes shut listening in. "Lucas and Stella," she denoted. "Arguing." Then another entity enters the space quickly. "Zxaine. And Stella is calling for her to let go." Emerald grips the hand of her friend suddenly, stopping her from going anywhere as her violet eyes sought out the darkness of her friend. "He sounds like he's handling it." Further information was divulged through this process, and Emerald shared it all. Stella had kissed Lucas, Zxaine had arrived and gripped the girl's white hair to force her away, and Lucas was calling to the both of them to stop treating him like property. "They're all shouting. And no one is listening to anyone else." It was a headache waiting to happen for Emerald; her fingers rested on her temples to try and force it back. Then Zxaine had gone; the Nightstar girl turned to look at the door and motioned for Amber to do the same. They would watch her leave in a slump. Seconds later, Lucas would follow, pushing the door open with a heavy amount of force and storming off in another direction. This left only Stella inside. Emerald looked to her friend, a glance that asked how she wanted to proceed. There were three options readily available; Amber could denote which was the most important. |

Walking nearby the Auditorium, Amber had been going on about a dessert place in Axiom that she heard about when they had passed by the building. Both having to leave Stella to Ayeka's opinionated clutches, there had to be a way to make it up to her. What was audible to the sensitive ears of Emerald was little more than soft noise to Amber. Drama group, Amber's inquisitive glance to her friend suggested. "Lucas and Stella. Arguing." "Eh?" Quizzical quickly fell to worry. She knew Stella had been strange and it had visibly grated Lucas the time they had all met together, not that she was able to blame him. The strangeness of the starry girl's behavior was impossible to ignore, but Amber had yet to ask her outright. But when would it be right? "Zxaine. And Stella is calling for her to let go." Amber's eyes widened. Let go? Of what? It didn't take long for something such as that to feed into the absolute worst of her. Amber barely moved to intervene when Emerald's reflexes shifted to grab her wrist; a wise move. The winged girl turned to her friend, the darkness in the eyes evident. Amber suffered exhausted as of late due to the now-joint treatment of Stein and Nurse Hanabishi, but there was assurance it would be temporary. Despite that, the darkness in the nephlet shone through without relenting and Emerald's grip had been the pivotal point to give pause. "He sounds like he's handling it." "...He is." Calmly spoken, betraying her urges but she moves no further. Lucas needed to handle this, Amber knew it, even if she really wanted to help. But the more details are related to Amber, the more it took for her to curb the painful notions she wished to unleash on Zxaine personally. It would do more harm than good, do Lucas more harm than good - she wasn't willing to do that just to satiate the monster in her temporarily. "They're all shouting. And no one is listening to anyone else." Just remove her hands. Leave nothing but bloody stumps...make certain she regrets laying a hand on her. "Careful Emmy...your head might hurt." She cautioned softly. Amber briefly shut her eyes to close out the dark urges haunting her, throwing her sliver of good will to the three: listen to each other please! It can be resolved! The door opens and Zxaine leaves without seeing the pair. Then Lucas would be next to leave...but no sign of Stella. A glance to Emerald a moment. What Amber certainly wanted to do conflicted with what should be done, so mentally that option was mercifully crossed out. Lucas...he had to handle the situation, better he cools off until she could talk to him later. That left checking with Stella - that became the most important option at this time. Amber nodded at Emerald, that was the choice. So they would proceed. Through the doors and a look to the stage before approaching. "Stella." A gentle and controlled call to the girl that would carry in the empty auditorium. |

"But neither of you are doing anything worthwhile. You want to fight each other? Do it through your own problems and don't pin that on me....Neither of you listen to a word I'm saying. Why would I want to deal with either of you if I don't deserve to be heard? Just leave each other alone." Holding still, Stella pressed her lips togehter. It wasn't about him when this girl chose to insult her and attack her. Not to Stella, anyway. Lucas may have been the catalyst but as far as the star girl was concerned, it had stopped being about him when Zxaine had started mouthing off. It wasn't like Stella was in love with the blue haired boy, and she was allowed to stand up for herself, wasn't she? She cared about Lucas, obviously, but how his girlfriend and he interacted was his buisness not hers, and while Stella had apologised for kissing him, everything after that had seemed to just trickle down to Zxaine hating her and Stella not wanting to have to listen to all the reasons why. "I will not talk to or about her, I will not touch her, nor will I acknowledge her." Well that was a relief in any case. The fact that Zxaine had chosen to take it so literally didn't really suprise her. After the dramatic shift, Stella had begun to realise that her reactions were too dissimilar to her own to be able to understand them, let alone predict them. Zxaine strode past like Stella had suddenly gained the power of invisibility and she watched her leave, before turning to Lucas. Was he going to talk to her? Should she apologise again? For kissing him, for whatever she had done to turn him into this, for causing a fight with him and his girlfriend? "Lucas, I-" she started, but he turned and left. And then she was there, alone. "I'm sorry," she said softly anyway, just in case he could hear. "Stella." She had closed her eyes, running a hand through her hair as she stood by herself on the stage. It was like some sort of horrible finale on a horrid show. At her name Stella looked up to see Amber and Emerald walking in. Stella was trying to look after herself. It was a new year and she could stand up for herself, she could, she didn't need to go to people who were stronger or smarter than her. But that didn't stop her climbing down and practically running to her friends, and after an awkward pause, wrapping her arms around Amber. After a moment she stepped back and smiled apologetically at Emerald. "Sorry," she said to both of them and twisted the chain of her pendant around her finger until it started to bite into her flesh. "I'm a bit.. just, not a great day so far." |

Emerald stood silently as Stella ran towards Amber, pulling her in for a much needed embrace. As stoic as she had tried to be, it was obvious that the best thing for her was this moment. She needed her friends, and whether Stella saw Emerald as such did not seem to matter. She smiled warmly to the girl. "Sorry. I'm a bit.. just, not a great day so far." Shaking her head lightly, Emerald reached out with a gentle hand to connect with the star girl's, giving it an idle squeeze to take hold of her attention for a moment. "Don't be. You played so strongly." She had said with an encouraging tone, her lingering on the touch for a moment before completely letting go. "It's not your fault." She looked to Amber, then, sure that her friend would have better words to give than she. As much as she knew Amber wanted to deal with Zxaine first and foremost, she knew that it wasn't a wise decision for her to sort that mess out right now, if at all. "I can take your message to her, if you like." Emerald said, the bright colour of her violet eyes darkening slightly at the thought. She looked to her friend in seriousness, though, worried that Amber might not have the strength to stop herself from being too brash. Had Amber been looking, she might notice Emerald reach to her back pocket for her gloves. She only needed them in certain situations, the dark eyed girl would know. "Or him." She added, sure that Amber would have something to say to both of them. "To give you time here." She finally reasoned. It almost didn't feel like a situation she belonged in, and Emerald wondered if her presence would better be suited elsewhere. |

That may have been all that Stella needed, familiar faces to greet her, drawing her from this drama of painful proportions. Silent figures that waited for her to gather herself, a gap that did not take long to close for the star girl. Amber hugged her back of course, it was needed after what she had to deal with. The simple gesture quelled the darkness enough so that it receded for the moment. Receded, but not evaporated; Emerald would that fact know among the ones present. "It hasn't been good for all around. It's all right now." Amber says once she released the girl, a calm in her voice that betrayed what she truly felt. Around Stella, her light kept her darkness in check even if momentarily. "Emmy is right too, you did well considering the situation itself. I'm not sure what's happening, but it is complicated." The blonde smiled warmly too, hiding the unsteady and umbric urge that only swelled little by little. "A resolution can be found, certainly." "I can take your message to her, if you like." Emerald's voice cuts right through into Amber's dark core. Seriousness met with an equally serious glance in the direction of her violet-eyed friend. "If you must. Right now for that one, would be too volatile." Through those vague words, it was surmised that Amber would not be chasing that girl down herself at the moment in favor of seeing to Lucas and Stella's state first. That and correct for the assumption, Amber lacked the self-control and that itself would complicate the situation further. No, Amber can wait for that sweet moment of confrontation! However, if Emerald still felt inclined...she still could if she liked. Amber looked to Stella with a cheerful smile. "Emmy and I were thinking we could check out a dessert place in Axiom later this week. You can have respite from Ayeka. She'd been really pecking away at you, and then this..." An offering of sweetness for a long period of sourness. |

Come at Me, Bro!

Stella did not hug people often, but it felt good and comforting, already taking steps to help erase the horrible hollow feeling in her stomach. Feeling the warmth and pressure on her hand, her eyes widening in supervise then softening in gratitude, Stella pressed Emerald's hand in return. She hadn't been sure what Amber's dark, solemn faced friend thought of her, but that gesture meant worlds to reassurance her that Emerald didn't just see her as a hanger on. Don't be. You played so strongly. It's not your fault." Oh.. they'd heard. Stella blushed and bit the inside of her cheek. That would also mean they'd heard her being so rude to Zxaine, and Lucas calling her childish. That was far from ideal.... But a part of her was undeniably proud to here someone like Emerald call her strong. "It hasn't been good for all around. It's all right now. Emmy is right too, you did well considering the situation itself. I'm not sure what's happening, but it is complicated." Nodding glumly, Stella shrugged, "It's confusing," she said honestly. "I still don't really understand what's going on." Just that Lucas didn't want to talk to her and Zxaine was now going to pretend Stella didn't exist. The second one was actually a relief but the first made her stomach hurt. "A resolution can be found, certainly." "I can take your message to her, if you like." "No, really, it's, It should be fine," Stella insisted, because this was her problem and she could deal with it herself. She could. "She promised not to attack me again, I think she's just going to act like I'm invisible now." Not sounding at all upset by this turn of events, because, honestly, she really wasn't, Stella smiled reassurance at both the girls. "Really, it's ok. Though maybe you might talk to Lucas to see if he's alright," she directed that at Amber, her own face falling slightly and making it clear that she really did not think she would be able to check up on the boy herself. Still, she smiled and shrugged. "Emmy and I were thinking we could check out a dessert place in Axiom later this week. You can have respite from Ayeka. She'd been really pecking away at you, and then this..." Her eyes widening in dismay, Stella patted the top of her head and sighed. "We have to go hat shopping," she said miserably, in an attempt to distract herself and her friends from the previous drama. "Since she can't dye my hair. But that sounds lovely! I wouldn't mind getting away from the school grounds for a while." |

"If you must. Right now for that one, would be too volatile." Emerald nods gently, taking hold of the plan's concept and allowing the gloves to fall into her back pocket. She closed her eyes harshly, feeling the oncoming voices reprise in the form of a sharp ache in her temples. She had been trying so hard through the soundproofing in the Auditorium to make out every word so she could properly inform Amber. The power's use fluctuates heavily considering she was so used to utilising them in the outer worlds; clean open spaces. "But that sounds lovely! I wouldn't mind getting away from the school grounds for a while." The violence could wait, Emerald had denoted as she pulled her eyes open. Her mind had become riddled with conflicting thoughts; what to do or say and how to do or say it. She felt so bad for Stella, and Amber's violent reaction had flared one up in herself. But she had come to the conclusion that she and the dark eyed teen needed at least one of them to be of a sound mind when this happened. Gladly, Emerald would take the role of keeping her friend in line. Nevertheless, her violet orbs were shining with cheer at the notion of leaving the school. She moved to loop an arm around Amber's who would no doubt do the same to Stella as they began to move. "Then let's go. I'm sure we've had enough of this room for the day." She mused with a bright disposition. Perhaps her shining qualities would fall to the others to lift them from their darkness and sorrow. |

Come at Me, Bro!

Stella linked arms with Emerald gladly, looking up at the dark haired girl a little shyly. She offered a smile in return for Emerald's warmer expression and nodded to herself. No need to wallow or pity herself, not when there were enjoyable things to do, and desserts to sample. And besides, she may have fought with one friend but she seemed to be making another. "Then let's go. I'm sure we've had enough of this room for the day." It was not possible for Stella to have agreed more if she tried. Enough of that room and that piano for the day, yes. Enough possibly even a life time. |
