The summer sun rained upon the blackened rooftop of the school, one of the few places too scorchingly hot for most of the students. It was the one place she could go to practice without inconsiderate students tripping over her practice materials. Right in front of her was a large glass bowl that was full of various small items such as spoons, pencils, and pieces of quartz to name a few. A few feet ahead of her and to either side of her were decently sized, wooden boxes, the tops having been removed by the girl so she could see inside them. Zxaine looked utterly forlorn though, her hazel eyes downcast as she looked at the box in front of her. Pencils sticking through the sides of the box at different heights and angles. Frustration built steadily and she slammed her palms against the hot rooftop, closing her eyes tightly. "This is so... so.... FRUSTRATING.' She hissed through her teeth, opening her eyes to stare down at the bowl of practice items. Damion paced towards her and placed his head on her shoulder comfortingly, she shrugged him off and snatched up a fork from the bowl. Her eyes narrowed in concentration, lips curled down in a frown as she focused her abilites on sending that fork where she wanted it. The metal shimmered with her power for a few moments then vanished. She looked at the box to her left expectantly, nothing happened. "W... Where did it go!?" she sighed and slumped, folding her arms in a huff. |

"W... Where did it go!?" Zxaine's fork had flown higher than the boxes could predict, grabbing some unexpected air and projecting, with the force of her abilities, over and beyond. It threatened to fall from the roof she had been so impressive. From behind her, a sudden thin bolt of electricity connects with the utensil, adding to its momentum and flinging it completely out of sight and off the roof. Grania sprints past the slumped over girl and across to the edge. "Heads uuup!!" She shouted at the top of her lungs, hardly wanting the smoldering object to hand on someone's head. As her hands pressed against the ledge, she watched the few people below look up and scramble in different directions. "Guess this kind of thing must happen often." She had said to herself. Grania turned around finally meet the girl who's practice she may or may not have ruined. "If anyone asks," She began, moving to take another fork from the bowl, "You made this one perfect." Her smirk rang with a little unknown confidence as she twisted her form effortlessly, turning over her shoulder and throwing it towards the boxes, pinning it clean into the woodwork. "And I only just got here." This display was more to cover themselves should anyone complain about falling objects as opposed to trying to show off her own skills. "Sorry for crashing your... party. Want any help?" Share and share alike, after all. That was a thing, right? |

"Heads uuup!!" Her head lifted as the new voice rang out, her mixed tone eyes curious. The feline beside her mimicked the motion with his ears twisted at a quizzical angle. She watched the fork, which had perched itself quite a distance from it's intended location, get shot off the roof and plummet towards the ground below. The girl moved back towards her and grabbed another utensil from the bowl of items she kept before her. '"If anyone asks," Zxaine blinked once, curious to where this line of thought was going. ""You made this one perfect." finished the statement as the fork landed in the box and a smile of appreciation lit her features. "Thanks. I seem to be a bit off." She responded quietly, seemingly a bit embarrassed she had been caught at practice with not a single, true success to mark her progress. She watched this enthusiastic girl with a bemused expression, a bit re-energized by her presence. "Sorry for crashing your... party. Want any help?" Zxaine giggled softly at that, her normal personality peeking through her training mode demeanor to show for the other girl. She rubbed Damion's head and the cat yowled softly. "Unless you have some way to drastically improve my aim... I'm afraid I'm hopeless otherwise." she joked lightly. "I'm Zxaine. Nice to meet you." Edited by Yoshika, Apr 15 2012, 12:05 AM.

"Unless you have some way to drastically improve my aim... I'm afraid I'm hopeless otherwise. I'm Zxaine. Nice to meet you." "I don't have a way, but I have the means." Grania responded; her heightened dexterity meant that she was able to aim with her hands and skills moreso than her eyes. Zxaine might have needed someone with better sight rather than herself. But then, she supposed there were several different techniques to correct aim, maybe her opinion would not be as useless as she had thought. She closed the distance between the two of them with a few steps, extending a hand out to the girl in need. "Grania; it's easier to call me Grace." She introduced. Some people seemed to struggle with pronouncing and figuring out her name in its original language. Sometimes it was just simpler to use the translation. But with a name like Zxaine, she was not sure it would be such an issue. Retracting her hand, she moved to rest them both on her hips idly. "You might need someone with different skills, but I'll give it a shot. But what are you actually trying to do?" She had asked. After all, Grania had only entered the situation as she had slumped onto the ground wondering where her projectile had gone. She had not seen how it got in the air or anything of that nature. |

"I don't have a way, but I have the means." The teleporter was interested in what the girl had to say, and maybe she'd make a friend too. Seeing as now that Stella was back she was all but given a cold shoulder from her number one supporter, Amber. She smiled to the girl as she closed the distance between and placed her hand in the one offered to her. "Grania; it's easier to call me Grace." "Grania? Lovely name." she smiled and the leopard bumped her shoulder. She looked at him and rowled lowly, swishing his tail. "Are you not going to introduce me?" "Sorry sorry. Grania, this is my familiar, Damion." the large cat turned his head to her and nodded politely, his gaze highly intelligent. "You might need someone with different skills, but I'll give it a shot. But what are you actually trying to do?" She paused and reached into her bowl of items, picking out a cut piece of rose quartz. She rolled it in her fingers idly before responding tot he question. "I'm trying to work on my accuracy with projecting small items. But as you can see, most of my attempts become part of the box instead of landing nicely inside of them." She sighed and focused her gaze on the quartz, the crystal shimmering with her power before vanishing and becoming lodged in the corner of the box to her right. "It's not so easy...." |

"Sorry sorry. Grania, this is my familiar, Damion." "Hey, man." Grania replied, raising a hand to the animal. Obviously she could make sense of what he was trying to say, so maybe he understood people completely. Rather than choosing a greeting through the girl who clearly owned him, she chose to be a little more direct. "I'm trying to work on my accuracy with projecting small items. But as you can see, most of my attempts become part of the box instead of landing nicely inside of them. It's not so easy...." She watched intently as the item disappeared, then reappeared lodged in the wood behind her. But rather than trying to focus on where the rock went, Grania kept her dull eyes on the girl; her thought process and muscle movement were so tense! "Ah, I see." She said after a few moments of initial silence. She moved towards her, resting hands on her shoulders lightly. "Tension's gonna kill your aim. It's as much about the mind as it is about the body." Grania noted, pushing on her shoulders lightly. Was it strange for a near stranger to do this kind of thing? She wasn't really sure and didn't see it that way. After all, she only wanted to help. "I can see that you're picturing where it's gonna go. But," She began, and stopped for a second. This was probably going to sound stupid to someone who had never tried it before, "Try to feel where it's going too? I don't know if that makes sense. There is an important connection to both that make aiming so much easier once you understand it. You can probably see it if-" She learned the connection between physical and mental the hard way. Putting a little of that knowledge into someone made it a lot easier than figuring it out on your own. "Here, I'll try and show you. Aim high but watch me." She said, taking a pencil from the bowl and tossing it over to Zxaine. Grania took a few paces back and looked up, waiting for the projectile to appear. She produced her Aeon, holding onto it with one hand and resting two fingers of her other hand on the back of it. |

"Hey, man." The feline liked this girl, she seemed to understand that he wasn't just some ignorant pet. He trotted towards her and curled around her legs one time before returning to Zxaine's side, a minimal sign of acceptance from the large cat. "Ah, I see." Zxaine looked at the other girl with a curious expression, what did she see? She was keen to hear what the other had to say and contribute, because nothing she did seemed to help at all. Grania moved towards her and placed her hands upon the teleporter's shoulders, the brunette looking up at her quizzically. "Tension's gonna kill your aim. It's as much about the mind as it is about the body." that made sense, when she teleported herself she never really had to think much about it, she just did it. But moving her own body and moving something else took different amounts of concentration for the girl. Still, she would try anything at this point so she just waited for instruction. "I can see that you're picturing where it's gonna go. But," A pause. "Try to feel where it's going too? I don't know if that makes sense. There is an important connection to both that make aiming so much easier once you understand it. You can probably see it if-" She wasn't sure if she quite followed but it was worth a try, thus the girl paid close attention. "Here, I'll try and show you. Aim high but watch me." Zxaine caught the pencil and glanced at Grania, questions clearly shining in her eyes. She glanced at Damion who nodded, after all it couldn't hurt. Right? "Alright." she agreed and held the pencil lightly in her left hand, keeping it in her vision but keeping her eyes focused on Grania. After a moment of concentration the pencil vanished, appearing about 15 feet above the school's roof, hovering there as if suspended by momentum then starting to fall back towards the ground. |

"Alright." "Alright." The pencil left her hand; it disappeared and reappeared above the two of them. Fifteen feet was an impressive distance for it to travel, but that didn't matter right now. Grania takes a breath; it forces all her muscles to carry slight tension before it melts away. Her physical form would show the muscles tighten and relax in her arms. No pressure in her hands as she stands completely relaxed. Her eyes take in the trajectory of the instrument above them; there is the subtle sound of crackling from her Aeon. Small, insignificant strings of electrical current appear from the device and promptly disappear seemingly into her skin. Another intake of breath. Her hand rises from the Aeon and into the air, pointing straight up and towards the pencil. As the breath she took leaves her mouth, her eyebrows narrow slightly down to her eyes. The electrical current flies out from her extended fingers; a short burst of power that connects with the pencil in seconds and completely fries it. The wood's ashes fall to the roof like snow. She stands back to normal now, turning her dull eyes to Zxaine. "You're allowed to get tense for a second; it helps your muscles realise that they're stopping you from relaxing. Aim is as much about mental concentration as it is about having a calm demeanor. The two kind of balance each other out. One of my abilities is all about it." She said; maybe Zxaine would take her advice to heart if she had said that in the first place. Grania lifted her hand out to one side, level with her eyes. "Take something and try to teleport it into my hand. Don't focus so much on what I said as much as acknowledge that those things are blocking you." |

"Alright." The pencil had gone farther then she had expected, all she really did was picture it above her, how far above her didn't really come into play. That's usually how it worked when she wasn't trying to aim, things went so much better. She kept her attention on Grania after seeing how high the item appeared, a bit impressed with the height. Damion, too, studied the girl intensely, the pair acutely aware of each twitch of the girl's muscles. She watched with a degree of awe at how easily she was able to release the tension that pulled her muscles. The electrical pulse startled the girl and she jumped back about half a foot, blinking as the ashes of the pencil fell to the rooftop. "That was... wow. That was really really good. You much have practiced that a lot... to be able to hit a falling object." appreciation wove itself into her voice, moving back towards her items now that the shock of the girl's abilities had worn off. "You're allowed to get tense for a second; it helps your muscles realise that they're stopping you from relaxing. Aim is as much about mental concentration as it is about having a calm demeanor. The two kind of balance each other out. One of my abilities is all about it." Wise words, and both the girl and the cat nodded in sync. "Take something and try to teleport it into my hand. Don't focus so much on what I said as much as acknowledge that those things are blocking you." Worry suddenly clouded her eyes, what if she made it stick through her, or hid it somewhere in her body by accident. She didn't want to try and explain that to the nurse. Still... she had some semblence of trust in this girl and she nodded once, warily. The girl reached down and picked up a spoon, running her thumb over the smooth silver lightly. Zxaine took a deep breath, releasing it slowly as she tried to make all her muscles relax. As Grania watched it would become clear that slowly she was getting it, first the tension in her jaw went slack the relaxation working it's way down her body. Finally feeling she was ready she focused her eyes on Grania's hand, trying to ignore the spoon altogether. After a few moments of nothing the silver sheen of the spoon glimmered with her power before vanishing, appearing a few inches over her hand but at least it would fall into it, not impale her. |

Zxaine seemed almost terrified at the idea of using a living breathing target for her practice. Well, she might have to use these skills under pressure one day! Besides, it was always good to have to have a little added reason and purpose to your training; helps you grow and learn a lot faster! Well, at least she was smart enough to pick an object that couldn't possible stab her if the situation went a little awry. Grania might have almost been nervous if she'd decided to pick a fork or a pencil or something else with pointy sharp bits. She noted the way Zxaine had attempted to make the tips she's given work for her; her tension seemed to almost physically melt down her form. It gave Grania that little extra hope that this was not going to end up with a quick introduction to the school nurse under unfortunate circumstances. When she was ready, she had made the object disappear. There was almost a half-second wait the two of them had to endure before it would appear an inch or so over her hand. It toppled the distance once it had fully appeared in an impressive movement of skill. Grania gave the girl an almost proud smirk. "Well I'll be damned. Talk about sudden improvement." She had said quickly, releasing her grip on the utensil to toss it back over to her. "That was pretty good! Living targets add that little bit of pressure on your shoulders, eh? That's alright, you pushed past it pretty well." She denoted, especially since in her experience, live targets would freak people out into oblivion. |

"Well I'll be damned. Talk about sudden improvement." She looked sheepish. She'd purposly aimed high, not wanting to hurt this other girl accidently. She rubbed the back of her head lightly and Damion laughed. "I... aimed high... over your hand... just in case I missed." She said softly. "I wouldn't be able to stand hurting someone who was trying to help me." She smiled a bit. She knew she had a reputation as someone who didn't care who she hurt, but that simply was not true. "That was pretty good! Living targets add that little bit of pressure on your shoulders, eh? That's alright, you pushed past it pretty well." She laughed softly and pet Damion. "Well, I did cheat a bit. Aiming above your hand instead of in it... I didn't want it to appear through your hand." |

"Well, I did cheat a bit. Aiming above your hand instead of in it... I didn't want it to appear through your hand." Grania blinked, forcing her head back a little as if the news had come as a direct hit in the face. She was more or less joking with the girl; she didn't mind how she worked around the obstacles given to her. After all, it was perfectly normal to have worries like hers when dealing with the unknown. "I wouldn't worry about it, I'm sure the school nurse is as weird as the rest of this place." Grania denoted. Whoever she was, she probably dealt with projectiles through the skin all the time. Right? Uhh... That was a little weirder. "I'm either lawfully stupid or insane, but I think you should do it again. With something sharper." This time would be a little more manic than the last, added pressure and the thought that even if the projectile of choice fell from a distance, it still might have enough force to draw blood... Or worse. "Unless you're uncomfortable." Grania quickly reasoned. She didn't want to force her into doing anything; she had to be comfortable trying otherwise the dull eyed teen was bound to have a knife through her hand. |

"I wouldn't worry about it, I'm sure the school nurse is as weird as the rest of this place." "Oh, not at all. She's a very sweet woman, and very skilled." She smiled, remembering the sprain to her ankle that was healed so very quickly, and she'd barely felt any pain. Damion nodded, they'd only met her once, but that was enough to make them both trust the nurse fully. "I'm either lawfully stupid or insane, but I think you should do it again. With something sharper." She looked through the bowl of items, not wanting to harm the girl, but the only thing she had in there that could be considered sharp... were obsidian arrowheads. And they cut like glass. Worry flashed in her eyes. Too high and the shard of glass-like stone would slide into her like a hot knife through butter.... to low and she risked imbedding it in the girl. Was it worth the risk? She lifted the item and ran her finger over the edge. She'd have to be careful. "If... if that's what you think we should do." so far the girl had helped her focus and confidence. She had to continue and prove to herself she could do this. She waited for the other girl to be ready for her, her thumb rubbing a hollow spot on the obsidian. |

She could see the change in emotion over Zxaine's face. She knew something sharp was in that bowl and she clearly didn't want to use it, at least for that first moment. This was all assuming she got it wrong, and that if she got it wrong, Grania wouldn't do anything about it to protect herself. "If... if that's what you think we should do." Grania shrugged initially. She didn't have the heart to tell this girl that when it came to training powers she was as clueless as everyone else. Maybe there was something in how confident she was acting that was giving Zxaine hope. Well, she was looking for aiming help, so if a student was going to be the one to help her, Grania might have been the best she was going to find. And look at how well she was going already! "I'm not sure. Neither are you. But let's do it anyway." Grania mused, holding her hand out as Zxaine appeared to get back into having some confidence about her. Don't wince, Grania. If it impales you, don't wince. Try to make it look like it's no big deal. |

"I'm not sure. Neither are you. But let's do it anyway." She nodded and Damion yowled an agreement. Zxaine's fingers slide over the obsidian, hoping the other girl didn't grip it too hard and cut herself if she pulled this off. She couldn't aim high this time, it would be potentially dangerous if she did. Her concentration level rose but she remained mostly at ease in her body, forcing herself to relax her muscles. Her eyes were focused on the other girl's open hand. "Whatever happens... don't clamp your hand around this... it's very sharp." She said softly, and it was, like a shard of broken glass. Moments later the item disappeared and she watched the other girl's hand expectantly, waiting for it to appear again. |

"Whatever happens... don't clamp your hand around this... it's very sharp." Grania shrugged, exhaling quickly as a sign that she wasn't worried about it. And in truth, she really wasn't. That was about to be her biggest downfall. She watched Zxaine's movements as she went to make it disappear. She seemed calm, together and alright about the whole process. But just as it vanished, there was the most subtle twitch from the finger of her free hand. "Oh, fu-" The object appeared IN her hand! Not in as though it were in the palm of her hand, in as though it was actually sticking far into her hand. She kind of stood there, staring at it with wide eyes that for once weren't dull, but shining with worry and regret. Her jaw was still dropped as she looked to Zxaine, unable to pick it up ever since she knew this was not going to be a success. Slowly, Grania took a breath, drawing air into her lungs to fill them completely. "FFUUUCK!!" She had shouted at the top of her voice, expelling all the air in a single moment and word. Though she appeared to panic at the sudden sharp sense of pain she was feeling, she kept her hand still, knowing that sudden movements would make it so much worse. Grania took hard steps towards Zxaine, showing her the blood as it started pouring from the wound. "Look what you did! I told you NOT TO GET TENSE!!" She called, threatening to put the wound straight under her nose. More audible shouts would be heard from the roof as neither of them did anything; neither of them probably knew what to do about the situation. Grania pushed it towards her completely. "Take it out! TAKE IT OUT NOW!" |

"FFUUUCK!!" Zxaine stumbled back a few steps at the shout, she missed. How could she have missed? She was relaxed, she had been being as careful as she could be. Damion tilted his head and blinked a few times. "I... I'm sorry!" she stammered, eyes wide. "Look what you did! I told you NOT TO GET TENSE!!" "I didn't. I thought I was doing well. I'm so sorry!" She was reduced to stammering, it had been Grania's idea! She hadn't suggested sharp objects that required her to have a very narrow area to place it! "Take it out! TAKE IT OUT NOW!" She nodded dumbly, her eyes wide as dinner plates. She reached towards the piece that stuck out, the other girl's blood coating her fingers as she gripped the obsidian. She pushed her power into the obsidian and it vanished, appearing again below the girl's hand and falling to the ground. "She needs to go to the nurse Zxaine." Damion purred and she nodded. "C'mon, I'll take you to the nurse." She stated urgently, transporting people was far easier for the girl then items, because she'd be going too. "She'll be able to stop that bleeding immediately." Damion nodded his head. |

Zxaine ripped the thing clean out of Grania's hand; neither of them seemed to want to look at how deep it had gone in or whether or not it had, for the moment, caused any serious damage. Grania wasn't even quite sure she could keep her hand anymore. Oh shit. Was that a thing? She couldn't feel her hand! "She'll be able to stop that bleeding immediately." "Then let's GO!" She called out again, panicking that her hand might never be the same again. Within moments, they had disappeared from the roof, leaving everything behind. Continues to Seeking Attention |
