Lunch period, time usually spent inside of the cafeteria for many students on campus. Luckier ones that had their own modes of transportation could venture outside the campus for all of their food needs. Even fewer would resort to cooking their own food. Amber carried her bento lunch box in a black napkin dotted with lacy heart prints. While not a grand cook, she knew to make the basics and arrange them according to season - the collaboration of Ria and her mother made certain she would never forget that particular skill. The nephlet had no particular reason to be in the auditorium over the hustle and bustle of the cafeteria. Maybe she felt like contemplating, or maybe she chose silence over mass conversation and noise. The rooftop was far too cold during this time of the season and would be little more than annoyance if her food were to become ice cold. Amber unwraps her bento box from the handkerchief and opens it with an audible pop, a puff of steam rose into the air and vanished. The smell of rice mixed with shredded chicken breast, apples and cucumbers surrounded her. All right, so it was not exactly tailored to the season, but she felt like eating something simple than making something extravagant - next one, she would have to make a proper one. Besides, who would call her out on it? Amber opened a compartment below the top tier and pulled out a pair of purple chopsticks. Nothing better than eating rice in peace. BANG! BANG! At least until she hears a sound that makes her jump, a muted sound of something banging against metal. Her eyes dart towards the auditorium doors, hoping to see someone walk in, then to the stage. Not a sound. The hollow silence of an empty auditorium was her only friend. "...Hmn." Amber muses to herself and continues on eating her meal with caution, wondering if maybe she should have brought someone with her. |
