Takeshi Akimura surveyed the campus perched from atop the school building. Most of the leaves had fallen off from the windy and cold days, the brilliance of autumn brushed away leaving bare dormant sticks. What leaves were left began to fade into a mundane brown, and all of this was fine by him. He was accustomed to the changes in season, applying his eating habits and personal effects to coincide with particular seasons. He had a long jacket specifically for this type of day, dark heavy jeans and boots. The only constant was a bright red scarf that fluttered with the strongest breeze.

Always the nice view from where he was, it was unfortunate considering the situation he was in. Someone to protect, someone to deliver the promise to; the winds of change were coming close. Soon, would it even matter? Thus, this is the reason for his lonesome presence on the rooftop. His eyes fall to his arm and he lifts it to chest level.

“Do you think the same?”

Underneath his jacket, he feels the creature stirring. An inky black tendril rose from his sleeve and directs its attention to its host. The boy stares at the creature, a silent exchange between host and parasite. He then nods, an easygoing smile crossing his face.

“Fine. We’ll deal when it comes to it.”

And suddenly, the creature retracts back into his sleeve, the pressure around his arm tightens and releases. All within good reason as soon Takeshi would not be alone for much longer...

The brunette had moved up the stairs in an atypical fashion, normally she would have just appeared. She was hardly dressed as one would expect for the weather. A pale pink miniskirt and a white camisole adorned her slender frame, However she was aware enough of the weather to wear a pair of thick, white leg warmers and arm warmers. a pink scarf hanging uselessly around her neck, not even bundled to protect her throat from the cold. She hummed with each step she took. She paused at the door, hearing a voice on the other side, and she pressed her ear to it to try and figure out who it was.

“Fine. We’ll deal when it comes to it."

The door muffled the sound of the voice so she couldn't really place it, the girl turning her mix hued eyes to her familiar, who shrugged and licked the side of his muzzle. He couldn't tell either through the thick door, so she pushed against the door and stepped onto the roof, the wind catching her loose scarf and sending it spiralling in the air before falling around Takashi's shoulders.

"Didn't expect to see you up here Tadashi." She purred in a cheerful tone, though anyone who saw her could tell she was more cheerful then usual these days. It was hard to put your finger on exactly why, she hadn't said anything about it. "Were you talking to someone?" she looked around and Damion mrowled, trotting to Takashi and rearing onto his hind legs and pulling the scarf that was hanging over one of his shoulders and down his back. The leopard then returned to Zxaine and held it up to her as she started to walk till she was standing next to him, the breeze making her skirt and hair fly in the wind.

The hinges to the door creak and opens with an audible woosh. It seemed his symbiote had correctly sensed a presence. Had it been a moment longer, someone would have witnessed his living embodiment of his cursed bloodline. The cool wind picks up and rush pasts him, stringing along a soft cloth that fall over his shoulders.

“Hn?” Takeshi murmurs, noting that the scarf was pink and wafted of a pleasant herbal scent. He knew this scent somewhere...

"Didn't expect to see you up here Tadashi."

His heart leapt to the point where he was sure it smashed against his rib cage. No wonder the scent was so familiar! The errant scarf belonged to his goddess, the only creature that could surpass the lovely view of the campus, had joined him here through a twist of fate or entire coincidence. Note, she appeared even more radiant than usual, or maybe it was his own adoration for her.

"Were you talking to someone?"

The question lingered on his mind, puzzling him for a moment or two when he remembered: the creature in his body, he had been conversing with it before it scampered back onto his arm. Takeshi smiled in a way that came off more as a smirk than anything.

“Nah, was thinking aloud to myself.”

Damion the cat trotted over to him, reared on his hind legs to retrieve the scarf. Takeshi kneeled down a little so the cat would have an easier time taking the pink scarf back to his beautiful owner, leaving that gentle scent around his neck. Zxaine joined to stand next to him and it took every ounce of his being not to feel the pangs of nervousness or allow his legs to melt into quivering jelly. One of his phases had to maintain a certain reputation after all!

“Got word from home that something’s going on, but I don’t know much.” He says with a shrug. The young man did not seem too worried about the possibilities or maybe it was his own gruff sort of reassurance. He hated to lie to his goddess, but better it was something more fruitful than her witnessing the creature on his arm. There was a slight tightening of his forearm and he instinctively massages it as if his arm was sore.

Sorry, sorry, didn’t mean it in a bad way!

“Came up here to see the view, Zxaine?”

“Nah, was thinking aloud to myself.”

"Ah..." She said softly, her eyes gazing out over the scenery, taking in the last colors of fall. "I don't do that much... mostly because I usually end up talking to Damion." She finished, turning her gaze to him and smiling sweetly.

“Got word from home that something’s going on, but I don’t know much.”

She blinked a few times, concern twisting her brows so they were pushed down, her lips tightened in worry. Damion rubbed his head against her leg and she rubbed his head, tossing the scarf around her neck and letting it hang as uselessly as it had before. She wore no jacket, nor had anyone ever really seen her wearing one short of when it was snowing... she was an odd one.

"I do hope it's nothing too serious or bad..." Genuine concern filtering through her voice. She had been so preoccupied in her happy little world, she hadn't thought to keep tabs on the goings on of her friends. She felt like a terrible friend and she leaned towards him a bit, giving him a gentle smile, warm and friendly.

“Came up here to see the view, Zxaine?”

"No.... I was... I was looking for someone." She said hesitantly, not sure if she should go into who exactly she had been wandering around, looking for.

Her mention of speaking to Damion made Takeshi smirks to himself. He pays attention well, the harsh words that follow his goddess, even if she did not talk to herself, she talked to a cat - to some, it was strange. Oh well, anyone who thought it strange could simply fall into Hell; the goddess has free reign over her actions after all.

He caught her expression in a side glance and he felt his heart shudder. No, she should not have to harbor such worry for someone of his caliber! Mission to not have her worry, to cover for his speaking to the creature that inhabited him failed miserably.

"I do hope it's nothing too serious or bad..." She says, leaning towards him smiling in that gentle but so brilliant way. He had to try hard not to be affected, for Takeshi could contain his adoration more than Tadashi ever could. Had he not have the countenance he did now, he would have melted simply having her nearby!

"I doubt it." He dismisses the idea with some degree of confidence. Anything to dispel Zxaine's worries, his devotion simply was that grand.

And then she mentions her motive for coming to the roof, a small part of him hoping that it was fate that lured her to the rooftop, or even that she knew he was present and wanted to be around him! Joy and rapture! Takeshi could shudder in revulsion at his own weird giddiness.

"No.... I was... I was looking for someone."

Takeshi raises an eyebrow noting her hesitation. His heart sunk briefly, but he held off on despairing just yet. It was an interesting change, the goddess so confident and unabashed in a cute way...he found himself oddly curious.

"Really now?" He says, sliding out of his jacket with a composed shuffle of the material. As if it was the most natural motion in the world, he settles the jacket over her shoulders and re-wrapped bright red scarf around his neck. The cold never bothered him, the jacket mainly was for cool factor anyways - the bright red scarf blowing in the wind made up for it.

"Am I the someone?" He says with a grin, completely joking...sort of.

"I doubt it."

He seemed confident but she was still worried, he had been very kind to her and she didn't want him to be in any sort of predicament or bad situation. Her brows twisted in thought then she nodded, having to be content with that.

"Well, if you need a friend to talk to or to help out... do ask. I'll help in any way I can." She smiled and touched his arm with her fingertips lightly then dropped her hand away.

"Really now?" He seemed intregued as to why she was looking for someone and she blushed a bit, it was odd to be so nervous about looking for a person. Something she truly was not used to. She blinked as his jacket came to rest around her shoulders, her expression confused. Did she look cold? Ah well, he was being polite. She turned her face to him and smiled.

"Thank you." She said softly.

"Am I the someone?" His question caught her off guard and she wasn't sure how to answer at first.

"I do enjoy your company Tadashi." She answered, again feeling ashamed that she hadn't hung around him more often. "And I do appologize for not being around lately, I suppose I'd been lost in my own little world. I was looking for Lucas actually. He said he'd help me study for math." And while it was true he helped her in her studies, it wasn't entirely true for why she was looking for him. She bit her lip nervously, averting her gaze to try and hide the truth from him. No one was supposed to know. No one.

"Well, if you need a friend to talk to or to help out... do ask. I'll help in any way I can."

Takeshi could have very well been content to know he had Zxaine’s favor, though not even he could not keep his mind from straying into very alluring territory. Helping any way she could? No, there was no way Tadashi could allow any thoughts to sully Zxaine’s purity and sweetness! Again, Takeshi found himself wondering about his own twisted foibles and then promptly had to drop that in favor of a more troubling statement from his goddess.

"I do enjoy your company Tadashi."

Uh oh...that sounded familiar. It bore similarity to the many times he had seen Katrina smile before (rather harshly) turning down the guys who confessed to her. However, sweet and pure Zxaine was, without offense, very different from his duplicitous and blunt friend. Wait a minute, why was he holding out hope that maybe this would go in some inexplicable way of a confession - roof top, a lovely view, just the two of them alone...

"And I do appologize for not being around lately, I suppose I'd been lost in my own little world. I was looking for Lucas actually. He said he'd help me study for math."

Takeshi mentally highlights that name: Lucas. Lucas Reed, his sempai and rival who carried the image of “the nice guy” like a personal mask, the lucky guy who snagged the heart of Stella Midnight. As many whispers in the halls note as of late, he had been seen less around with her for some unknown reasons - lover’s quarrel? Breakup? Who knows, none of that was a concern to Takeshi with the exception of one aspect. Zxaine had been seen around him more often as of late. THAT particular detail bothered him, how dare he try to force himself into the graces of his Goddess! He has a perfectly sweet girlfriend to shower attention on so there was no need to be so damn greedy to snap up Zxaine too!

Could it all be conjecture? If so, why was his goddess averting her eyes? As annoyed as Takeshi was about that guy, he was not going to subject his goddess to further discomfort. The entire time, his expression had been as stoic as he tends to be, not to say that it took every ounce of his being not to show his distaste.

“Lucas, eh?” Takeshi says flatly, his gaze flickered to overlook the campus again. Some aspects of his shifted personas are hard to change after all. “That’s helpful of him.”

He pauses for a moment then turns to Zxaine again, smirking in an easy-going manner. “I might’ve seen him wandering around earlier. You two have been buddy-buddy as of late, apparently people are starting to talk.”

Takeshi physically waves that piece of information off as something she should not worry about. People were known to gossip after all, especially the more jealous types.
