Last Call video
Current mood: Posted Image high

I had a great time shooting the video for Last Call in NYC with Trey Fanjoy. We did part of it on a rooftop and part of it walking down Houston street. (Now, being from Texas, I would pronounce this Hyu-ston. For some reason, in NYC, it is pronounced How-ston. I just didn't have the energy to explain to them how wrong they were so I suppose they're going to pronounce it that way from now on.) One thing I noticed as we were filming at 10:00 pm, walking down the sidewalk, whole crew in tow, is that people would get annoyed at having to wait at the end of the block while we were getting a certain shot. Obviously a lot of filming goes on there and people probably get sick of it after a while! They're probably thinking, "There goes another reality show." Well, anyway, I think it all looks pretty cool. Thank you Trey for talking me into it!

New link! Watch the video here:
Who: Lee Ann Womack
Video: 'Last Call'
Why We Love It: In a video reminiscent of 'Sex and the City,' Lee Ann does her best Carrie Bradshaw, as she brings double meaning to the term 'Last Call.' Watch it here first, before you can see it anywhere else, in this world premiere.

This was on GAC.com:

Lee Ann Womack Hears "Last Call" In Big Apple

Aug. 4, 2008 — As the mother of two daughters, Lee Ann Womack knows a thing or two about scheduling, and she put some of that knowledge to use when she was in New York City recently to honor Loretta Lynn.

Lee Ann needed to make a video for her new single, "Last Call," and doing it in the Big Apple ended up the perfect fit in the middle of several cross-country flights.

"I had to be in New York to do the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction for Loretta," Lee Ann recalls. "Then I had to get on a plane to fly to Portland, Ore., do two shows, fly right back to New York and do some other work, so it basically just fit schedule-wise to do it in New York. I had said, ‘Let’s do it in a studio, and nobody will know if we were in New York or wherever we were. It won’t matter.’"

In truth, it did matter to someone who had a big role in the shoot.

"The director, Trey Fanjoy, said, ‘I always wanted to shoot New York,’" Lee Ann says. "So we did it. And I really love it. Really, the city in the background is really pretty."

Shot in black and white, the video’s images include street views of taxi cabs and pedestrians as well as skyline shots that feature two of the most iconic buildings in the Big Apple: the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building.

"Last Call" is the first single from Lee Ann’s album Call Me Crazy, which is due in September. The video is already airing on GAC.
