I know I posted about this in the "Little LAW snip-its" thread, but I think it deserves it's own thread now, that it's more important now lol....here I'll repost some important things:

Vince Gill is getting ready to launch the biggest album project of his career, a 4-CD set titled These Days, set for Tuesday, October 17th, 2006.

Joining Vince on the album are such stars as Gretchen Wilson, Lee Ann Womack, pop star Michael McDonald, Vince’s wife Amy Grant and his daughter Jenny. The set, containing 43 new and original songs, displays Vince’s mastery of country, bluegrass, blues, and rock. “I started looking at all these songs I had,” said Vince, “and going, ‘Shoot, I want to record that song.’ I just kept checking with the other musicians to see if they were available. I had no deadlines, no rules, anything like that.”

==================

Vince's collaboration with Lee Ann is on Disc Three, song # 9: with the song called "If I Can Make Mississippi". I think she sings background vocals on it, but from the clip I've heard today, it's an AWESOME-sounding traditional country song by Vince, and though you can't hear Lee Ann on the 30-second clip, I believe she'll probably be in the chorus, and sounding better than ever when we get the full version. Listen here!

Also, if you're interested in more (like even Vince on his current tour), go to this great article my friend found:

Also, on CMT.com, there's a listening party for the album, but they only put up Disc One for the moment, which I'm going to listen to real soon (I'm not sure what music is on this disc though):

It sounds GREAT so far!!! I think this disc is the jazz-ish rock. I love it!

This is something I found on that Music Remedy link in the first post:
"The wistful “If I Can Make Mississippi” took on special meaning for Gill and Lee Ann Womack when they recorded it on the very day that Hurricane Katrina slammed that state’s Gulf Coast."

Don't forget!

You can see him at this website perform some songs :D :

The new songs are: "Molly Brown", "Some Things Never Get Old", "Working On a Big Chill", and "The Reason Why", while "Pretty Little Adriana" is an older single from years ago, and then he covers Elvis' "Mystery Train" :) .

Wow, I love that song, but I thought it was going to be more of a duet. Oh well, no harm done. I am so psyched he's got this project out.

I wish it was a duet, but I didn't think it would be: I was sure it'd be background vocals, but hopefully, one day we will get a Gill / Womack duet! I ordered mine online from Best Buy, but it hasn't arrived yet (I did order it kinda late: last Friday). I should either get it tomorrow or Monday (since my school's parcel part is not open over the weekend :rolleyes: )
