Anyone know when it's supposed to be released? My guess is that since another single hasn't surfaced, it won't be in February. :(

I'm not sure either. I think Alison Groves, the LAW FC president, mentioned it might still be February, but she's not sure. I wish we knew! :(

Looks like LAW's version of "Her" by Waylon Payne, will be called "Him".

And from the Soundstage info, there's a song called "Love Put A Song In My Heart".

There's another slow song that I've heard as well, but I can't remember the title. I don't think it was one of those listed.

"Him" is the song I heard. The best one so far, besides FMWBH.

Some good news:

Lee Ann Womack has been in the studio polishing up her new album which she says is going well but admits a bit of fear by saying "I set the mark so high with the last one sometimes it become scary because you are afraid you won't measure up." Lee Ann says, "I just hope people will like it as well as the last one." There's More Where That Came From was named the 2005 CMA 'Album of the Year'.

- It will be great, I know it :D

I can't WAIT for you to hear Lee Ann sing it, CF.

Me neither: I'm thinking it may become one of my very top fav LAW songs, or most favorite from that album ;) . Is the instrumentation more comtemporary or traditional (or in between?) - is it the same as Waylon's?

Earlier today, before one of my classes, I wrote up the lyrics for it (or tried to, since it's not available online lol):

"Her"/ "Him"
Written by Waylon Payne
Sung by Waylon Payne/ Lee Ann Womack

Just a while ago, I thought I had it all
But it all fell to pieces in the early fall when she/ he moved on---
Oooh

Now, there’s a light that’s shining bright outside my door
But I don’t get the luck to forget, what it’s burning for ---
It's her/ him
Oooh

But now, she/ he--------
Is gone-----

She/ He------
Is gone----
Gone-----

Well, the phone rings, I don't jump out of the chair I'm in
'Cause I know who ain't waiting for me on the other end
It's her/ him
Oooh

There's too much goddamn space here in this dresser drawer
I found a pair of blue jeans on the bathroom floor
Oooh

But now she's/ he's------
She/ He is gone-------
Yeah
She's/ He's -------
She/ he is gone -----
Gone -----

(Instrumental solo)

Gone ----

It has crossed that she/ he ain't comin home
Until I see that with these eyes, I'll keep holdin' on ---
Oooh

If any of you are interested, there's a video on YouTube of Lee Ann performing "Down & Out" live. It's only a short portion of it, though (45 seconds_, and it's not the only song performance on the video (it's after the short clip of "I Hope You Dance", but it cuts off and "Sick & Tired" comes on, so from 1:10-1:55):

Still really cool...Lee Ann looks like she's having so much fun

Cool. Thanks for posting that link.

Where have y'all been hearing the rest of the songs---in concert?

I was kinda worried that since Finding My Way Back didn't do so well, and then we haven't heard anything else....that the label sent her back in to work on something more "radio-ready." Typical these days.

These days, It seems like with the female singers, even when they have a hit....they still have to struggle with each and every song.

Hopefully soon.....
I read recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and I think, "Well, that's not going to happen."

Np.

The only songs she has sung live (that we know of_ from the list of new songs are:

"Him"
"Finding My Way Back Home"
"Take Me Back To Texas"
"Down & Out"
"Love Put A Song In My Heart" (Soundstage only)
"You Don't Know Me"
"If You Don't Go" (Soundstage only I believe)

The only songs I myself have heard so far are:
"FMWBH" of course
"Take Me Back To Texas" (from XM Radio broadcasting her Fan Club Party...and that's a great song!)
"Down & Out" from that YT clip, which sounds awesome.

I think this album will have a mix of traditional country songs with some contemporary country stuff and a lot of LAW soul :D .

I hope he doesn't mind me posting it here, but a LAW fan named Dustin recently said that he personally asked Lee Ann about the album and she said it will probably be out in the fall (2007) and that they're taking a year off and there will most likely not be a fan club party this year. So that's good news and bad news, I guess.

I guess that means they are reworking the album?

I don't get it. Finding My Way... is a great song. If Kenny had recorded it (which, it kinda sounds like his kinda song) it would have done great. I don't get it.

Unless the CD is reworked before the release, it looks like the track list was set to be:

Take Me Back To Texas
Love Put A Song Back In My Heart
Either Way
Slow Boat To China
Down & Out
Finding My Way Back Home
You Were Made For Me
A Heart Letting Go
Everybody's Got Something They're Good At
Talking Behind Your Back
Better Off
If You Don't Go
I read recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and I think, "Well, that's not going to happen."
