"Like her new song says, she’s just enjoying the ride… Mercury recording artist Lee Ann Womack recently wrapped the video shoot for “Finding My Way Back Home,” the first single from her upcoming album by the same name. Music Row has already weighed in on the single, saying “Her soaring, head-to-the-sky, personality-packed vocal gets inside the “survivor” lyric perfectly. Very, very catchy.” Director Paul Boyd, who also directed Womack’s retro-styled video for “Twenty Years & Two Husbands Ago,” takes Womack back to Texas for her first performance video since “Ashes By Now” from her multi-platinum selling album, I Hope You Dance. Kicking up her (Christian Louboutin) heels at the glorious Paramount Theater in Austin, TX Lee Ann’s performance is all smiles, flirtation, and that finger in the air when she hits those impossible notes. It comes off like a celebration – and for good reason. She’s backed in the video by her good pals Stoney LaRue, Randy Rogers, and members of Reckless Kelly, who cameo as her band. The Texas-bred Country queen has never looked better and no wonder – when her last album swept the Country Music Awards and earned the earnest applause of music critics across the country – Lee Ann realized that staying true to her inspiration was the only way to go. When the video debuts, long-time fans will be thrilled to see another special guest featured in the video – one who marks the growth of Womack’s career over the past six years better than anyone else could! You can watch a 36 sec. clip of it on YouTube now
:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1KV3uJApWE I think it's alright...I think it could have been much better. I don't like the whole "live", home-video-camera recording look to it, but at least we got a video lol. |

Encore Hollywood Posts New Music Video for Country Queen Lee Ann Womack Hollywood — Encore Hollywood’s Arnold Ramm performed final color correction for "Finding My Way Back Home", the new music video from country music superstar Lee Ann Womack. Ramm worked with Director Paul Boyd in setting the look for the video which features Womack performing with her band at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas . "Finding My Way Back Home" is the first release from Womack’s upcoming album of the same name on Mercury Records. The majority of the video is presented as a rehearsal session with Womack and her band performing on a stage in front of an empty house. “For most of the video, Lee Ann performs under lighting that has been dimmed to a warm gold,” recalled Ramm, “but during the chorus, it blows out. She is bathed in a back light, with smoke and lens flares.” Boyd’s concept for the piece, Ramm added, was to make it look like a 35mm film print. “he wanted it to be filmic, but not gritty; it’s smooth,” Ramm said. “Paul operates an Arri 235 that is about the size of a video camera. All of the 360-moves were done by Paul handheld.” The challenge for Ramm in color correction was to keep Womack’s image distinct during the chorus when the lighting levels rose. “We could have used different color levels to separate Lee Ann from the background,” explained Ramm, “but, because Paul wanted a classic, photographic look, we didn’t want to ‘create’ a look but only to supplement what was there.” At certain points, Boyd instructed Ramm to allow the lighting to overwhelm the image. “We didn’t program anything,” said Ramm. “We played with live levels as we ran.” Intercut with the performance scenes are vignettes showing a girl (played by Womack’s 8-year-old daughter) riding a bike through a suburban neighborhood with a basket of stuffed animals. Ramm helped to give those scenes a cinematic look through a technique that he employed early in the telecine process. “We scanned the film into the spirit with limited capacity so that there wasn’t a lot of detail in the black,” he explained. “That gave it the look of a film print.” ============================== Cool
