Lee Ann Womack has been shifted from MCA Nashville to sister label Mercury in order to "even out" the label rosters, according to a spokeswoman for parent Universal Music Group Nashville. Womack's first two albums were released on Decca Records, and she was absorbed into sister label MCA after Decca folded. Her next five albums, including a greatest hits set and a Christmas project, were released on MCA.

Womack's first Mercury project is tentatively set for release late this year or early 2007.

I found this to be odd, but hopefully it's all for the best and they promote her a lot better than MCA :box:

Funny... Terri Clark switched label companies, only the opposite way. For the same reason.

Lee Ann and Gary were both signed to MCA after Decca folded...Gary's made some changes (big changes IMO) and Lee Ann's signed elsewhere and IMO, it's all in part to this...
